Very clean, quiet and well maintained site. Owners were really helpful and obliging. We got the choice of pitch beside toilets or about a 2-3 minute walk away up on hill overlooking the Irish sea, which we chose. Toilet block was immaculate and piping hot water. Shortcut down to Portpatrick was easy to walk and the twon itself was great. Would recommend this site happily. Thank you for a great long weekend.

Stayed at the holiday park for one night and found it to be excellent. It mostly had static caravans with some allocated space for tents, campervans etc. Customer service was excellent and it was a very friendly site on the whole. The location is great for visiting portpatrick. There is a lovely path along the coast taking you into portpatrick in about10/15 mins. There is a children's play area on site though we didn't have time to use it. The toilet block was clean and the whole site was well kept. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.

We were impressed with this site. The owners are working hard to make changes and improvements to what is already a lovely site.
It is largely a static park but there are several touring pitches which overlook the Irish Sea and on a clear day/evening you can see Northern Ireland quite easily.
The toilet and shower facilities were modern and clean but quite a distance from the touring pitch area. Also the chemical dump point was a long walk. Don't let your cassette get too full if you do not have wheels!
There is a spectacular cliff top walk which takes about 15 minutes into Portpatrick town and harbour. Both are very scenic and there are food shops and some interesting gift shops to explore. It is worth the walk but do not get too much shopping as there are quite a few steps to climb on the return journey!

We received a warm welcome when we arrived and were given a hard standing pitch at the front of the park. Most of the touring pitches are close to the sea we some views, which we were intially a bit disappointed about as the views are breathtaking. However, we were very relieved the following day when the wind picked up and we had a reasonably sheltered pitch.
The toilet and shower facilities were very good. They were always clean and very quiet. The radio was on which meant you could have a little dance while in the shower, which I really liked.
The walk into Portpatrrick was stunning and although we were concerned about our toddler walking there and back it was a very short walk and only took us about 20 mins.
There is no shop on site, although we tended to buy provisions from the shop in Portpatrick before we walked back.
The play park was good and was usually very quiet.
We would definitely stay at this site again.

Excellent site overlooking the irish sea. Very well maintained, extremely friendly owners and Managers always eager to help. Very quiet and relaxing, very well kept toilet and shower block(new) Grass well kept, regularly cut. Caravans very well spaced out with fantastic views not in rows like other sites.
Beautiful clifftop walk down into Portpatrick itself. Small amusement arcade and swing park for kids. Dog Friendly Gorgeous, pleasurable trip. Would recommend this site to anyone. Very changeable weather which is very good.
Closeby to lots of other attractions and short distance from ferry ports over to Ireland. If you are looking for avery relaxing holiday with beautiful views then Galloway Point is an ideal retreat for anyone of any age.

Stayed for 2 nights. Relatively new owners of this site have provided a state of the art toilet, shower laundry block, one of the very best I have used. So don,t let previous reviews sway you on this as the old facilities have been replaced. A great location a short 20 minute walk to the lovely port of Portpatrick along the clifftop path, lots of steps though. The port has 4 pubs all serving food and the fish and chips from the van on the harbour wall are to die for. A lovely location, well kept, good facilities and I can only see the new owners improving this site if the quality of the service block is anything to go by. Dog friendly also. The site is predominantly statics with 2 touring areas, but I don't think they accept tents now, so check first. Static owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this site.

I stayed in a tent and what can I say, owners of the site todate are the owners and not any type of managers also they were very friendly and told you alot about the local area if asked. I visited this campsite about 6 years ago and they have done alot of work to the campsite.
The toilet block and showers are not top of the range but being a camper I did not expect them to be 5 stars, the laundrette was nice to see on a campsite of this size and you can see the new washing machiens doing there job. Both of the blocks where well cleaned.
Some comments about the toilet and laundrette blocks not being up to there standards. You are there to camp and to do stuff. Who realy cares about them. Also the water was nice and clear.
It is such a nice site, not like the sites you see with caravans in rows and you get given a pitch number to set up in. At this site you are given 2-4 big green areas to pitch up in.
Portpatrick is such I nice place I would recomend it to eveyone

Lovely location, toilet block in need of revamping, there's a nice bar adjacent to camp, owners not very friendly , but if you want peace and quiet an ideal place to stay, nice cliff top walk into Portpatrick where the people are very friendly, nice bit of beach for kids to play on, ideal location for day trips to Ireland, and plenty to see and do on the peninsula visit port logans fish larder where you can feed the fish just an amazing area of coast line

This site has some amazing surroundings and very friendly owners. I have been going to this site since I was a child and had many adventures there but the site needs updating. As a child I remember the owners saying to my parents they would be doing the toilets but as yet they have not! So come on Galloway Holiday Park , you've got a great site make the most of it.

May 2005 On their website this site offers modern facilities, a laundrette with automatic machines and park lighting in the main touring area, also a deep freeze for ice packs and secluded pitches behind gorse bushes. There were none of these. The facilities were not modern, some of the showers didn't work and the hot water was a nasty brown colour. The freezer was mouldy and the launderette closed. The lighting on the lower camp field was insufficient and many gorse bushes had been dug up. There were plenty of statics with beautifully kept surroundings but we had the distinct impression that tents and caravans were not particularly welcome any longer.
