What a lovely site, small and very friendly.
It is very quiet, even the animals were considerate (except the cockeral who acted as alarm clock). We are very new to camping and things like hook-ups, toilet and shower were easy to find and use.
The facilities were clean and tidy, but being December at night time, in the country it was very dark walking across the field.

For £6. 00 pn inc Elec is great. Owners are great. TV reception is poor but the owners will supply a lead to your unit which is connected to a booster, hey presto perfect picture.
All you have to do is give them a £5 refundable deposit. There is a good hot shower, washing machine, tumble dryer, even a phone for you use and you don't even have to put money in any of them. All they ask is you put a donation into a "Honesty Box". Sooner or later they will join the real world!
Penrith is great to visit only 5m/10mins away. The shop [co-op sells eveything from early till late 7 days] is 2m & opposite it is Lazonby Stn [free parking} which is on the Settle & Carlisle line if you want views without driving.
Spent whole week at site & never scratched the whole area inc Lake District. Rate Site & owners 100%.

April 2004 A small hide away site which has a good slightly sloping site with plenty of room beteen units the electric supply is 10 amp but we had no problems with it we were running water heater van heater etc all the time, poor tv reception but farmer has an ariel on a building with a booster system and will run a lead to your unit to plug in.The turn in is quite tight so best to have a look frist if you have a long unit. The site has 1 toilet and 1 shower but both are clean and usable there is also a washer and dryer on site a small charge in place for those. In the next field to the site is one of the biggest herds of Alpackers in the country (alpacker is a smaller version of a larma) nice to watch they even keep quite through the night.Penrith is 5 miles away which has a market on sat/sun at the auction market. Its on A66 onway towards Keswick.
