Loved this campsite, we stayed for 2 nights, at only £4.00 per person per night. The views were amazing, with mountains all around you, The owner was very helpful when we arrived we went to the farmhouse to pay, upon asking he showed use where the toilets and showers were,(showers are 50p, but you need to change your 50p for a token which you put in a machine outside the shower, it gives you 7 mins, so if you want this full 7 mins id recommend you get undressed first and either come outside in a towel(so you don't frighten other guests!) or get a fellow camper to put it in for you,
the owner also recommended where to put our tent so it would be less windy and he also had ordnance survey maps that he kindly said we could borrow if we wanted too.
The main purpose of our stay was to go up snowdon (although I have to say we did cheat and go up on the train- if you are unfit like us and want to get the train too, id recommend buying the early bird train ticket in advance, its for the 9am train and is half the price of a usual ticket therefore costing just £12.50), it takes about 25mins in the car from the campsite to snowdon railway carpark.
From the campsite there are lots of walks you could take. It is well set back from the road and had very little traffic travelling along it at night, so we could hear the nice small stream which ran along the edge of the campsite.
As for the facilities there are 5 toilets (2 are a bit nicer then the rest, one even had a silver toilet seat!)3 showers, 2 washing up sinks which are outside, the plugs are not very good, so id recommend taking your own washing up bowl!also you get a little splash back on your legs, when the sink is emptied!

There are 3 small dogs, which sometimes wander round the camp, but they are very friendly, there are also ducks and hens which sometimes are about too! I really like having animals around me, but please remember to take your rubbish to the bins everyday, and don't leave food in the tent, as one night we had a chicken going through our rubbish and he also decided to wander into our tent and help himself to an avocado too! but we had to see the funny side, we wanted to get away from it all and get back to nature after all and that's certainly what we got!
Would highly recommend this campsite if you want the same.

If you want a superb location away from the hustle and bustle but don't mind lowering your standards to the basics, then this place is hard beat. Hey £4 per person per night is not to be sniffed at when you wake up in the morning look out and can see the best mountains in Wales on your doorstep! The site is on the A5 just outside Capel Curig, which is a short drive if you need supplies or pubs. The pitching field is far enough away from the road so the traffic (what little there is) is not disruptive. The field is a 'pitch where you like' set up, which can result in some intrusive pitching! I couldn't believe where some people pitched whilst we were out climbing Cnicht! Hey ho, not to worry.

Visit the back door at the house on your arrival to meet the farmers son. A chatty chap (not) who will be pleasant but business like. It's all very casual. 'Yeah mate set up and pay before you leave.'

The fields is a bit 'wavy' so mind where you pitch, and the valley's windy weather can dictate which way you pitch your tent! One huge frame tent was wrecked whilst we were there due to bad pitching, think on!

I recall there were five toilets, two with lighting and basins, three without lighting (head torches a must!). This wasn't too bad as it wasn't busy, but I can imagine it getting a bit frantic in the morning rush during the peak season and the toilets are unisex, so ladies think on especially if the guys all had curry at the Tyn Y Coed pub!

The token operated showers give 7 minutes timed from the moment you put the token in the machine. This is amusingly outside the cubicle - so strip off and dash semi naked out the shower cubicle to deposit your token. The showers were clean, hot and powerful, but you have to get your token for 50p from the farmer, so plan ahead and buy a handful! (There was no sign saying this which I found quite funny.) The mixed washing area has sinks and mirrors for other ablutions and has lighting but the area is basic. Dish washing up facilities were spartan, an outside double drainer with hi taps (both cold!) that covered you every time you turned them on. Amusingly when you pulled the plug the water drains into a sluice under the sink which splashes your feet - as I said spartan. Good drinking water availability.

There were eggs for sale and what I saw of the bunkhouse, it looked fine (better than some I have stayed in) - A couple of caravans / motor-homes were pitched up on the top car park. Looked like they had electric hook up for them. I didn't think the site took caravans?

Anyway, all in all a smashing site, ideal for those wishing to walk, climb and be in the middle of the mountains. The old roman road goes right through the campsite and Tryfan is your neighbour, the Glyders down the road!

Don't expect luxury, you won't find it - but you will find campers and walkers present who have found a cheap and cheerful site. I am glad I found this little star. I would happily go back, indeed I am planning to quite soon.

Pros - Location, location, location (far from the madding crowd!) - Cheap

Cons - Basic

Got lost on way to site, person on phone was not helpful in the slightest, got us more lost sent us in completely wrong direction!

The sie was fine, we were quite rowdy and they were fine with it, very relaxed. Toilets were dirty but to be fair its camping not the hilton!

All in all a good camping trip! and there is some beautiful sights near by!

I have to agree with the below review, the area of the site is of outstanding beauty. I reckon there must have been 50 tents on when I was there but only 4 toilets (only one with light) and three showers. The water went off to leave us with no drinking water and the toilet's backing up.

Great location, at the foot of the Glyders, but poor facilities, overly busy with no maximum people roll up and pitch anywhere there is space often in the roads/tracks through site. No curfew on noise. Only four toilets on site with only one with lighting and experienced water problems all weekend with it often running out.
