If you want a site away from the tourist trail this is perfect. Never too overcrowded. The lake is great with a water sports centre that you can hire wind surfer and dingys from. Apparently it is one of the windiest places in Cornwall. There is a nice walk that takes you around the lake. Good kids play ground by the water. A really relaxing place.

This was the second time we have used this site and on both occasions Saturday nights were very noisy with loud disco music from off site. Having said that the rest of the time was very quite. Great walks around Stithians lake for us and the dogs. Owners very friendly and helpful. Toilet and shower facilities could be a little better and updated. Very handy for Stithians Show Ground which is only 5 mins away.

Very nice camp site if you are looking for a small and friendly site. A good location for exploring west Cornwall. Nice walks around the lake.
The facilities are limited to two toilets and two showers which was fine as the site was quiet when we visited. There are no washing up facilities so we had to fill a bowl in the shower and take back to the tent which would not be ideal if it was raining (lucky for us the weather was fine for the duration of our stay).
A freezer is available for use but was not working properly when we visited (we did report the fault but it was still not working properly when we left).
The pub and the restaurant were nice but a little expensive we did eat there one night, the food was very good.
On the whole it was very pleasant. We are planning on visiting again.

Stayed for only one night before heading into Helston early the next morning for Flora Day.
Wonderful garden but some of the shrubs need pruning so that you don't get too wet before your shower - or you could access the showers & toilets via the front of the pub.
Showers & toilets work on a coded entry system not very easy.
We decided to be self sufficient in the food department as the menu looked very expensive.

We spent four days in mid-May at this site. The pub management were very helpful, no problems there.
The site was relatively quiet - we were the only tent, just two other caravans/tourers over the whole weekend.
The toilets/showers were always clean and accessible, but I'm guessing it may be a different story if the site were busier, there's only two of each.
The pub itself was a little bit of a disappointment, as it is totally geared around the restaurant business [food top quality but a bit pricey for my liking] and there was very little traditional pub trade - however, I strongly recommend the Seven Stars at Stithians village, which can be reached by car in about four minutes, or a pleasant 40 minute stroll! There's also a Spar shop there.
With Stithians lake being a water sports centre - sailing and windsurfing in particular - the site is often very windy, so be warned:- we had to add extra guy ropes.
All in all, a competent enough setup and I don;t have any issues recommending it.

We had a wonderful stay and the food was wonderful as well. The fish is as good as you can get in Cornwall. Do try the Chicken. The staff are all very good. Grass could have shorter. We had water and electric but did not use any other facility. The local roads are quite narrow so if your outfit is on the large size be careful. It is a very nice site by the water and very well placed for touring Cornwall.
