Visited last weekend of September. Found this site to be child un-friendly from the outset. The owner was not very patient with children exploring new surroundings, threatened to throw us out! 3 adults and 3 kids cost £24 per night for a cramped site with poor amenities & filthy toilets. The only good thing we found about this site was its proximty to IWM Duxford. We would not pay a return visit.

Visited in August. Site excellent for visiting Duxford - left site at 10.40, arrived at Duxford 10.45! Site basic and pitches a little too close for comfort, but ok for a weekend away. Play area too far away to allow the kids to just wander, which was a pity but there was space in front of vans for them to play with a football.

Popped in to have a look on our way home. As mentioned there are a few retirement homes on site, and obviously a few long stay caravans. The site would seem to be mainly for van owners. The site felt a little small and surrounded by houses to us. We prefer a slightly more open aspect for camping. One or two tents to be seen . Obviously some older caravan owners who were enjoying their stay and who know the owners well. As tenters it would not be our first choice, but there were obviously some satisfied customers on site.

Just got back from Appleacre Park. Great position for visiting Duxford and an easy drive up from North Bucks. Site facilities basic but clean'ish although OH reckons the men's weren't that good. Showers cost 50p a go. No playground at the moment (unless a swing frame with no swings counts) but small play area and tennis courts by the Social Club. The Social Club is not just over the road but is only a five minute walk. Costs a £1 per person per night to be a temporary member and the staff and other members are extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about other places to visit. An ideal spot for visiting Duxford.
