Came across this site as a last minute getaway. WOW if you need to get away for peace and quiet ths is the place for you (especially for the Fishermen or woman). Lovely site set around a lake full of fish, we saw a 16lb mirror carp been caught. Parked up for one night only this was not a problem like some I've been to. Will definitely use this place again. Friendly owners including the dog Guinness. Pub 0.5 mile away but didnt go, Toilets clean didnt use the shower. Easy access from the motorway (Only 5 mins)

I booked this site for its fishing facilities for husband. Good site for non fishing visitors also. This is not a site to visit with kids as there is nothing at all for them to do, and with the water being so close to the pitches you would need to be very vigilant at all times.
It was bank holiday weekend and it was still not over busy. We paid £19 for hookup etc, although you will need an aerial as we found the onsite tv hookup useless. If you are into fishing then on site visitors pay only £4 for a full days fishing.
There is a small toilet block with one shower, but you have to put your money in before you enter the cubicle. (I did'nt use shower)
Ken the owner is very friendly as is Guiness his dog.
We walked down the road (be careful there is no pavement, or cut through field if not boggy)to the Redwell Inn, food was good, but I would definitely recommend the Falcons Head in the village of Over Kellet, the food was very good,(prices average) we had to book a table for the sunday night though.
We plan to return as it is not far to travel for a weekend

Lovely small campsite with fishing lake - this is very much a fishing destination with attached campsite and caravan park - but don't let that put you off. Owners are very friendly. Large flat field for tents, when we were there (bank holiday weekend) it was very quiet. Toilet block is small (1 shower for male and 1 for females) but kept quite clean - unfortunately located at the wrong end of the site for the campers - you have to walk through the small caravan park to get to it. (20p for a shower) Road passing the site can be a bit busy - seems to be used by motorcyclists and sports cars to test their abilities, which is the only thing to spoil the peace on the site. No playground for the kids on the site and you need to be aware because of the water. Very good pub with meals 5 minutes walk along the road. In summary - would recommend it and we'll definitely be back.

My wife and I stayed on this very pleasant site, it was nice and flat and wonderfully turned out, even better if do a bit of fishing with a nice lake, the man on the site is very helpful, he even gave us a map showing us the cheaper places to eat and drink, as the pub just down the road is just a bit pricey but well worth a visit, we will certainly be going back to see ken and his dog ( Guinness )

August 2005 I found the site excellent, the staff are very helpful. Excellent fishing lake with carp upto 30lb and some superb course fish. There is very little of children to do but it is set in a lovely location. Also only 10 -15 mins drive to Morcambe. I would recomend it for a quiet break.

June 2005 The staff are very friendly and the site is quiet and flat. There are 2 toilets and 1 shower - there were only 4 tents when we stayed and there was no problem. You changed in a room for the showers and then had to walk past the 2 sinks and 2 toilets to get into the shower (20p a go!) There is a pub/restaurant less than 1/2 mile away (an easy stroll) but it is very expensive and is more of an eating house than a drinking pub.
