Fab little campsite with beautiful views and great location. The entrance in can be easy to miss, so make sure you drive slowly. You'll need to anyway as it's a bendy/hilly road with some parked cars.
Very large pitches, some with electric, but on quite a slope, so go prepared. We had plenty to level the trailer, but had to make do to sort out the camp kitchen, and never had anything other than very wonky chairs
Sun sets slightly to the right of the pylon in the distance, just in case you like to sit out in the evenings.
Very friendly check in.Receptions on the left as you go round a sharp left hand turn. Limited supply of essentials, but to be honest I wasn't expecting any.So bit of a bonus.
Travellers Joy pub almost opposite the entrance, does very good main meals, excellent beers and nice pool table for 50p a go (just in case it's raining).
Shower/Loo block old, but always very clean. 3 showers & 3 loos for ladies (sorry, can't comment on gents but would expect the same). Nothing to dry your hands on though (other than loo roll) so take a towel or wave them about a bit. Proper taps in the showers, so no leaning on the button every 5 seconds. O/H & sons did have a problem with the showers as previously mentioned, but just took longer. I on the other hand, didn't, even though other cubicles were in use.
Under cover washing/washing up area was clean & tidy as well. Irons can be borrowed from reception and they have one washing machine and one spin dryer.
All in all an excellent basic site, very good value for money, with no one coming round shouting at you to get off by are certain time.I'll be back

Happy to agree with the previous positive reviews.
Position is not remote by any means, but a peaceful location set in an attractive fold in the ground. Pitching area is one large space, gently sloping, and quite sheltered.
As previously mentioned, facilities block remains dated, but well maintained and quite functional.
If you enjoy real ale, one additional point worthy of note is that the Travellers Joy pub, which is only about 100m from site entrance, has just been voted CAMRA IOW Pub of the Year.
One note on the ferries; don’t worry if you are a little early or late for your booked sailing. Sailings are every 30 mins, and as long as you have a valid ticket, they will get you on the next available departure, and mostly, there is space.

Wow - I read the reviews and really hoped that it was as described. No fear at all. It is a beautiful campsite - set with lovely scenery. Not a slot machine in sight. Our 4 kids made lots of friends and played together from sunrise to sunset. We had electric hook-up and were situated round the edge of the field. Non - elec pitches were in the middle.
Loos and showers were basic - but worked just fine. We got a lovely pitch as we had a big tent - and the owner had set aside an end pitch for us. The beauty of IOW is that nowhere was actually that far away! We were on a tight budget, so went into the towns and found lovely bakeries etc. Useful tip - grab a free 'to do' guide whilst you are on the ferry across. We did at least 2 things every day - lots of them were free!
Will definitely go back there again - a wonderful holiday which the kids rated as their best ever! Friendly and back to basics. Just what we wanted!

What an absolutely delightful site. We stayed Whit Week, arriving on the Sunday. There were quite a few caravans there with the IOW DA when we arrived but they were only there for the weekend and were gone come Monday afternoon. That left about 4 occupied pitches spread out around 2 sides of a very large (sloping) field.
At £12.50 per night including electric it is a real bargain. As previously stated, the toilets / showers were very dated - but always very clean and in working order. What more do you need? It was so peaceful, with lovely scenery and the perfect place to relax. The owners were also very friendly.
I would not hesitate to use this site again in the future - but would avoid Cowes Week, as apparently it becomes very very busy at that time.

Stay away! No seriously. If everyone finds out about it we will not get to book there again.
Oh yes it is slopey and the facilities are a throw back to the sixties and yes the gents showers are cold when all your women folk are in the next block but what a great site.
We had a lovely 16 nights there and all it lacked for me was it not being next to the beach ( I do like to combine fishing and drinking). It is really well located on the northern central part of the island and really is a real family site. No club, just showers and bogs, no staff trying to prise tenners out of my hands for some tat that will be binned on the way home.
It is really laid back too which just allows you to soak up the island.
Travellers joy pub is a real pub with real beer, and super friendly and is not an eatery that sells beer (if you want that then the Sportsmans Rest in Porchfield does great food at a great price too, oh and good beer but just not the selection of the TJ).

We spent 11 days on this site and had a fantastic time. Yes the facilities are very old and basic but they were kept clean which to me is far more important. The field is uneven but if you have a good look around you will find a good enough spot. It cost us just £9 a night for 2 adults and a dog, which for the time of year was fantastic. Great part of the isle with easy routes to all areas from the site. If we go back to the isle we would certainly go back here.

A delightful site that is a throw back to my childhood camping memories (with one major drawback) especially as our visit was booked to coincide with what is probably their busiest period Cowes Week.
Be prepared when you get to site as the field is sloping and actually slopes in 2 directions eg toward van side high to low and from rear of van to hitch high to low, take blocks for packing legs etc.
Facilities are very basic, and as stated above this is where the drawback comes in, the WC/Shower block is in dire need of a major overhaul, whilst functional they are really really dated and whether there is an issue with water pressure I don't know but the showers drip and are not very good to say the least.
That said the site is a fantastic touring base and allows easy access to the whole island, worth a visit if you have kids is Blackgang Chine, and Colwell bay for a nice beach which is probably 10 to 15 minutes away by car, (you may have parking issues).
Nearest big supermarket is Sainsburys in Newport approx 5 to 10 minutes by car.
With an upgrade to the facilities this site would be an absolute little gem to base yourself at and head out to explore the island, several good pubs locally (though had reservations about Traveller Joy looks run down but is a great real ale pub for all you CAMRA type people.
Just another little foot note Red Funnel are considerably cheaper for the ferry crossing than Wight Link and having done both crossings now would really recommend Red Funnel as our preferred ferry whilst a longer crossing if like us you have travelled a good distance to get to the island then the rest on the crossing is worth the extra time taken to arrive on the Island.

Well this site is a little hidden gem. If you want peace and quite, nice views and return to the proper days of camping this is the place for you.
Very large field with power points down two sides of it and pitching for tents in the middle.
Great views of surrounding countryside.
You get a great reception from the owners. The toilets are basic
But always clean and at £11.50 a night its great. Caravan and campers will need blocks to level up with, as site is a bit uneven. The best way in to cowes is by bus we couldn't find parking anywhere. There is also a pub a short walk from the site but we never used it.
Great family site and excellent value for your money,we will be back.

Excellent site on a slight slant but we got used to rolling to one side of the bed at night. Its toilets are very clean, the kids loved stroking the friendly horses which are in the field behind the toilet blocks. We cant wait to go back again. The pub which is a very short walk away is nice and friendly but the food is a tad expensive. The grass is well kept and although we had rain for 4 nights running by morning the field was dry. The wash room had plenty of sinks to wash up your dishes with an ironing board spin dryer, and washer. Also its where people used to recharge their phones.

This is going to mark THREE successive years that we've visited Comforts Farm and, quite frankly, we'd never even consider, from choice, any other Site on the Island.
Till now we've used our tents, but this year I'll be towing our Monza caravan there (and carrying the big 9-man tent for my Son's use) - my booking welcome was in no way diminished when I said that we'd be arriving at some unearthly hour like 3.00AM !
Basic it may be, sloping in lots of places it maybe, but the WELCOME, the FAMILY atmosphere, the *nothing's too much trouble* attitude of the family site owners, the sheer convenience of things MORE than compensate !
Power hook-ups, Toilet/Shower blocks which are regularly and thoroughly cleaned, laundry/wash facilities, disabled units . It's all there.
Pallance Road is a bus route straight into Cowes, and connections to services right across the Island for hassle-free trips to other parts, and the TRAVELLERS JOY pub is a very short walk from the Farm . Standard pub food, admittedly, but the service is great and the beers simply have to rank among the best kept that I've ever tasted.
All-in-all it's a great site, with plenty of room, lots to explore, and is certainly an as yet relatively undiscovered jewel !
Go there yourself - you'll never regret it !
