We spent a week at AT and on the whole had a fantastic time. The camping area was in a pine wood and had plenty of space for us to spread out. There are electric hook ups available, although at the time of booking it was indicated there weren't so we didn't take our electrical equipment which was slightly annoying but didn't detract from the whole experience.
The toilets and shower blocks coped well and even at busy times there was never long to wait and always hot water. Occasionally could have done with a clean more than once a day but I think a bit of a mess is almost to be expected on a woodland site. Washing up area was al fresco but a good spot for a bit of banter with fellow campers!
Our 8 year old took advantage of the on site activities with either me or my wife - Archery, high wire climbing and climbing wall all of which were first class with excellent instructors and equipment. Unfortunately the pool was only available for 4 hours while we were there and never at times that suited us.
However the greatest and best used attraction was the 3. 5k mountain bike track which was free for campers to use and we couldn't get our son off it! A fantastic route well suited to (accompanied) 8yo's learning off road skills (and there is a harder, longer route for the more advanced!)
We can recommend the 1 hour pony trek from Burley hotel stables (£33 ppph) which our 6yo really loved and the beaches all along that area of the South coast which are lovely. Well worth the trip to Sandbanks beach in Poole if you want a perfect safe and sandy beach. Also worth a day trip is hiring bikes (Burley cycle hire) and head off with a picnic for a relaxing day in the forest.

The family spent two nights at Avon Tyrrell and had a fantastic time. Our pitch was beautiful surrounded by trees and pine cones.
The shower and toilet facilities were clean.
There is a small shop on site for souvenirs and ice creams but not food. There is a co-op down the road or Christ Church for the bigger supermarkets. Lots of pub/restaurants in the area. We found a nice pub in Burley and the food was nice.
You can buy bacon or sausage rolls for breakfast on site, go to reception and they will order from the on site cafe which also serves food during the day.
No entertainment at night which suited us.
Well worth a visit.

What a great weekend we had here. Not been camping since I was a teenager (many moons ago )
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Facilities were good clean and well maintained. Plenty of hot water in showers and for washing up. We had a party of eleven including children. Plenty of things for the kids to do, and just a 5min walk and we were in the forest. Lovely village of burly about 3miles from camp and Christchurch about 8miles away. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return well worth a visit

I visited this site with my daughter and granddaughters for a week in August. Although we had read that the ground was hard it was in some areas impossible to get the tent pegs in, we had to walk our tent from our original location to another where there looked to be more grass and it was on a slight slope. There was a problem with showers to the extent that one block was closed for repairs another was closed for cleaning and we then managed to find some at the side of a shower block these were very wet with pools of water in the shower areas. The shop was not open for very long hours and did not have a very good stock for the size of the site. Takeaway we did not bother with but it was very limited but that is probably food in Britain. The showers, toilets and dishwashing areas were very clean and there was plenty of hot water. I do think the site is expensive.

A pleasant campsite with good amenities. They charge per person rather than per pitch so better value in smaller groups. Planes fly quite low overhead during the day to Bournemouth international but these stop at night when it is quite peaceful. Mainly attracts large groups of young children who come for the activities. There is a bus stop about 25 minutes walk away which has regular buses to Christchurch and Ringwood and the nearest shop is about 3 1/2 miles away in Bransgore. Good place to stay if you are looking for an active stay in a peaceful setting.

An excellent site if you are specifically looking for adventure / pursuits for the children (older children more suited). Especially works well if there is a group of you. The camping facilities are good, with clean and working showers / toilets etc. Camping is in small clearing among the trees, so it is sheltered. There are no marked pitches, it is pitched wherever. The camping area, however, is quite small - there are alternative cabins which look good (not actually used them, just looked in). The staff were very helpful and accommodating (top marks). Couple of things to note, firstly, the site is on the flight path of Bournemouth airport, so you do get planes coming in low overhead - but as it is Bournemouth, a small airport, it is not too bad and it did not really disrupt us (or any sleep); secondly, it is a centre for "youth" adventure and pursuits - so you are going to get big groups of youths, hence, not a site if you want guaranteed total peace and quiet. We went out of season (Sept) which was quiet and the kids loved it. You can just camp there, however, that would be a bit of shame when there is so much for the kids to do - climbing towers, assault curses, zip wires, canoes, rafting, high-wires, football pitches etc. Most of the activities are organised (which works well), so it is better to book a head the activity.
