Further to my review earlier this year, We returned to Rhos Caravan Park but this time sporting a caravan rather than the tent.
We arrived after hours, but a quick phone call to confirm we had arrived all that was required and paid next day.
We drove on to the Caravan section but it looked pretty full, we then stumbled on a larger better field which we completely missed last time we stayed there and IMO is a nicer area than the first caravan area and allowed a mix of tents and Caravans, which suited us great as we were a mixed party and a large area for kids to run round and play.
If I was just in a tent I would stay in the tent area as it has better views.
The field was non defined so was pick your own space which I like and the grass was in great condition.
We also found a second shower block and kitchen/ washing machine/dryer in this area around the statics. IMO these are in better condition than block nearer to the campers. But both clean so no issues there.
Just to add the freezer has been replaced so thumbs up to that.
Again we had a great stay at Rhos Caravan Park, it is easy to get to with a good location, so you could do far worse than base yourself there for this part of Anglesey.

We stayed here in June and enjoyed our visit so when we stayed in august bank holiday we were disappointed, the lady on the reception is lovely and very helpful but what let the site down was
A) the bins were overflowing with rubbish attracting flies and wasps.
B) the washing facilities had intermittent hot water, some times hot but more often than not cold.
C)the toilets for both sexes didn't flush for quite long periods causing a back log of you know what.
D) the mens toilets ran out of paper
E) the site needs people to clean toilet area more regularly.
Yes this was a bank holiday and the site was busy, but if you pay £20 per night you expect to wash in warm water and wipe /flush the toilet.
A really good point as a dog owner is the field dedicated to dog walking

Just returned from Rhos after an excellent weekend. We were a group of 3 tents with 6 adults and 8 children. The kids had a ball and we didn't see them in the evening as they were playing in the two parks on site.
This is a lovely site and very well maintained. The facilities are a little dated but very clean and you don't have to pay 20p for a shower! This was our third visit this year and we will be returning in the near future.
The site is huge with excellent hook-ups although there was a power cut this weekend! Not the sites fault but an fault with supply.
In conclusion an excellent site with friendly staff and reasonable pitch prices.

Camping: Although on a slight slope pitch was very well maintained on a large open field. Electrical hook up next to the cottages with 4 hooks up per unit which might cause pitches to get a little close during busy time, but since there was only 3 tents it was fine on this occasion.
Grass was cut daily and the camping area was defined, so in busy times the pitching of tents would be well defined and not a mish mash of tents across the hole field.
Showers Etc.
Showers were free and plenty of hot water so no complaints there. Shower building was little tired but was clean.
Washing machine and tumble dryer available on site.
Freezer was not working during on arrival, mentioned it the warden who showed some interest but I would not hold my breath on seeing it getting fixed soon.
Other Facilities:
There was a couple of basic kids playgrounds swings etc and a large dog walking field to give your dogs legs a stretch.
Near by: A nice pub 5 mins walk away, which the owners had helpfully cut a walkway across one of the other fields to create a short cut to. 5 Mins from Red Warf Bay.
Overall:
Very Happy with our stay for 4 nights, it was well priced and had everything we needed if not a little basic. Would camp there again.

So further to my review from earlier this month; We have been back to this site as we said we would and it would seem that the site Manageress was good to her word and resolved all of our minor complaints from our last visit.
Facilities were spotless every day, the freezer was now operative and the toilet light was on all night.
As this site now stands, not only would I say that I would go back here but I am now already thinking about and really looking forward to our next visit.
I would highly recommend Rhos to any of my family and friends.

This site now takes campers again after a short break.
I have been here before and loved it so was expecting near enough the same which it was apart from two noticeable differences.
1. No freezer facilities available due to freezer being broken. We made do with a pack of ice cubes from the Asda at Llangefni.
2. No lights in the toilet block after around 11. 30ish. We mentioned this to the owner and it was on her 'to do' list.
We were the only people brave enough to camp this week so we had the whole level, well kept, camping field with ehu to ourselves. AWESOME.
Reception is now where the shop used to be. If no one is there a contact mobile number is in the window.

So in my very limited camping experience, these were my observations regarding my stay at Rhos;
Upon arrival, the lady in reception was very warm and welcoming; she told us everything that we needed to know.
The camping field was very well maintained, just mowed and considering the weather at this time, dry enough so well drained. The EHU worked, so all in all, for our needs, everything was met.
First impression of the toilet / shower / pot washing facility; immaculate. The water was hot and it was clean. What more could you ask.
I don't think that campers really ask for much apart from what they are paying for, so all in all day one was spot on.
My only complaints are that the toilet / shower / pot washing facility wasn't cleaned at all in the two days that we stayed, however, we were the only campers there (not that this should make any difference) and the lights in the toilets stopped working at midnight, which was a tad inconvenient not to mention a bit 'spooky'!
The reception office was closed all the time that we stayed with no-one in there, though we were given a phone number to ring if we needed anything.
The lady in the reception office returned as we were packing up to leave and when we expressed our minor concerns, she said that she would fix them.
We would go back to this site anyway but if the lady that we spoke to is good to her word, then this will be an excellent site to return to.

Site is level and the owners are all very friendly. There is plenty of room, and lots of nice clean toilets and showers (2 Blocks). Also the pot washing facilities were excellent and so was the laundry room ( not over prices). There are shops with 1 mile and a garden centre selling locally grown vegetables, fruit and eggs.
There are two pubs near by, 1 within walking distance (10 to 15 minutes) the meals are excellent.
Owners regularly clean the toilet, showers and pot washing facilities, all hot water is free. They also keep an eye on the litter bins.
Children can play happily either in the play area or in the area in front of the field you area camped in.
The site is well looked after and the owners are always doing jobs on site, cutting hedges, grass etc. They take time to talk to you and make you feel part of their family.
We are going back there again.

Due to bereavement the site is not open for touring caravans or tents during 2010. Static and seasonal caravan pitches only.

What a great campsite. The space of this site is amazing and it was never overcrowded. The owners are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Even though the weather was not too great the site was never boggy as the drainage is first class. There are 2 local pubs, a londis at the garage and a chinese take away all within 1 mile. I will definitely be going back to this site.
