What an excellent family site. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Facilites were second to none. The toilet and shower blocks were always spoltlessly clean and with plenty of showers and constant hot water you never had to wait. I have a 2 year old daughter and the nursery room in the shower block was brilliant! with 2 large baby bath sinks and 2 shower rooms, with mini showers and toilets they were great for the kids, the nursery also had 2 kiddy toilet cubilcles, I could imagine in peak season this area would get very busy!
The swimming complex was brand new and my daughter loved the new water slides, we were fortunate enough to have 10 sunny days but even on duller days the inside swimming area could still be lots of fun!
We stayed in a eurocamp tent and we had a lovely large sunny pitch. Benodet is a lovely village with a nice beach and some nice restaruants, there is a mini train from the campsite every 1/2 hour although we preffered to walk or cycle into the centre to take in the lovely views of the beach. We would definetaly return to this site it is definetly worth a visit!

This is a large busy site. We travelled here using Eurocamp Independent. Our pitch was large enough for our very large trailer tent and our people carrier and still had plenty of room for table & chairs etc. An adaptor was required to use electric hook up and we had no problems with reverse polarity. There are 2 shower/toilet blocks. An old one which is dated and need of an update (and only had cold water for washing up!) and a new one which is very clean, this also has a brand new laundry (6 Euros to was & 4 Euros to dry). The pool area is good with slides. They are planning to upgrade this over the winter so it will be even better for 2008. Plenty for kids to do with tennis courts, table tennis tables, volleyball, archery, mini golf, trampolines, sports field, kids clubs etc. Site has a bar with evening entertainment, small shop and a take away food outlet. There is a small beach at the site but a 15 minute walk (5 min drive) will take you into the town of Benodet which has a large sandy beach as well as restaurants. I would highly reccommend.

Stayed in a French Life ready tent which was OK, a lot of heavy rain during the stay, meant some of the tents needed mopping out from time to time. The site its self was fantastic, great pool complex, water slides and baby pool, seating around the pool was limited. This is going to be knocked down this winter a replaced with a bigger and better complex for 2008, which looks very good on the artists impression in the main reception. The toilet and washing up block near the pool looked brand new and was very clean and modern, with a dedicated small child's area with baby baths and showers and little toilets for those who are toilet trained. Bendot itself is very clean with a great beach and promenade with free parking and good selection of restaurants catering for all. This was our first trip to France and will be going back again in the future.

This site was fantastic. I was dreading using the toilets after reading the comments on this website but they were SPOTLESS. Every time I used the loos there was someone cleaning them (day and night). The staff were very, very friendly and helpful. Brilliant pool complex and great beaches literally on the doorstep of the camp. I would certainly go back.

I have read these reviews and I can't believe it. Firstly, the toilets and washing facilities were absolutely spotless. Every time I used them there was somebody cleaning up. The site itself was fantastically well run and the staff were very friendly and professional. Right on the doorstep of a great beach. Fresh croissants every morning and cheap (good) wine. You couldn't ask for more.

We've just returned from a 2 week camping holiday here with 4 children aged from 10 to 16 and had a really good time. The campsite is good (though not as good as "La Grande Metairie" at Carnac where we went last year).
We had a pitch at the bottom end of the site and, judging from what other people have said, the better toilet facilities were down here. We found the toilets here pretty clean and noticed they were cleaned about 4 times a day. However, it was a bit hit and miss as to whether you got a hot shower or not. I seemed to be really lucky but my son was there for 5 days before he had a hot shower! There were rarely queues for showers, washbasins, toilets or washing up sinks and there were plenty of sinks for hand washing clothes. The washing machines were very expensive so we only did one load while we were there, but there were plenty of them.
My children really liked the pool area with slides and fountains but the area around it was a bit small for me and could be cramped for people wanting to sunbathe. There were only a limited number of sun loungers and chairs to sit on.
The supermarket was good and even stocked with some fresh fruit and veg and the choice at the takeway seemed to be quite comprehensive. Our family quite liked the evening entertainment in the bar - discos, quiz nights, the odd Breton evening, etc. We found the site lively and our teenagers liked it but, on the whole, once the bar closed at midnight the site was then pretty quiet.
There is a big playing field where the children's clubs operated with a tennis court and a couple of table tennis tables and badminton net.
One of the downsides was that we had a long walk to the bins which are in the overnight carpark outside the reception area, though at least we were a long way from the aroma!
The area around the campsite is really beautiful. Benodet beaches were safe for children and very clean and the old town of Quimper about 10 miles away was well worth the visit. However, the highlight of our week was a trip to the Odet Leisure Park at Elliant - zip wires and rope bridges everywhere - no formal supervision anywhere and all for 6 euros per person!
Although this wasn't the very best site we've been to, I would still recommend this site for a family holiday particularly if you have teenagers. Just wanted to finish by saying we had a full fortnight of almost perfect weather - we might have felt very different if it had rained most of the time!

I have just returned from a 16 night stay here and after reading reviews on this site I was really worried about the toilets. I needn't have been. The toilets were spotlessly clean. The site was superb and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend it to anybody who has kids. If you don't like kids don't go.

Went to this site, in a "French Life" cottage home, which must have been only 10-15m from the entrance to the night club. Every night loud music until well past midnight, then the teenagers etc. Mingled about outside for another couple of hours. Not 1 good night sleep out of 7. Never again for us.
Pool very crowded for number of people on the site. Funny idea they had in everybody having to leave their shoes outside of pool complex, then go through gate to swim.
Kids play area is actually off the site and very poor it was too. Not a site for kids.

Stayed here August 2004. Very nice location but have to say the toilet facilities were the worst I have ever been in, also had to go off site to car park to put out rubbish, which was a bit of a pain. Fairly quiet site but pool area not big enough for size of site. I don't think I would go back again. Better sites for less money.

June 2004 This is a large site which is occupied mainly by tour operators units and site owned statics, there are only a few pitches for indpendent campers and these were of varying quality. Some were very nice and situated on a lovely part of the site, we travelled with eurocamp independent and found ourselves on what we considered to be a very poor pitch which was muddy and overlooked by a static van and directly opposite the bar (very noisy) so it may be best to book direct with this site and specify you want the sea facing pitches (these were lovely).
The facilities varied but the ones near the pool weren't very clean and they were old, in need of repairs and were used all day by all campers. You may want to ask to be situated away from the main pool / bar because the loo blocks were nicer and it was too noisy in the centre for us
If you want an all action holiday this is the site for you. The bar is open until the early hours and there are kids clubs and a large pool complex ( this does get crowded unfortunately) with slides and fountains. There is a well stocked supermarket and large takeaway restuarant.
The site is just outside benodet, a 10 minute walk along the seafront ( gentle sloping) and bikes were available to hire. Overall not a bad site but too rowdy for our liking so although it was recommended to us its probably best to be aware that this is run as a lively site and noise is allowed until the early hours before you decide whether its for you!
