Stopped here for 2 weeks, on way south, at the time of our stay they seemed to be building a new reception. The staff were very efficient and friendly when we booked in, they take you to your pitch and make sure you are happy with it. We had a fully serviced pitch, but because of the trees on the pitch we had trouble connecting, also pitch was too small for awning and a car, so we moved the the next day.
The pitches do vary in size quiet a bit, and also have trees growing in the middle of pitches.
The facilities are very good, and are cleaned around 4 times a day, the restaurant and bar attract a lot of people and the staff are very friendly and also you get free wi-fi in the bar when you buy drinks. The site wi-fi is quite expensive to buy and also very slow in some parts of the site.
There is plenty things for children, with pools, football and basketball courts, to name a few. The site has an excellent supermarket that sells just about everything including Strongbow cider(my weakness). The site is advertised as dog friendly, but they are only allowed to walk round the site and are not allowed in any buildings, also they are not allowed on the bus that runs down into Villanova.
There are trains and buses from Vilanova to Barcelona and I think it takes about 30mins by train. If you have to drive to Vilanova from the site it takes about 5 minutes and there is parking at the top of the town and also plenty parking near the beach.

Pros.
Good location with a variety of transport options for visiting Barcelona, which was our reason for choosing this location for our five night stay. Also visited Montserrat but that was a little disappointing - so commercialised.
Excellent supermarket - well stocked with all manner of goods including Thetford toilet chemicals! Reasonable prices too.
Security - number plate recognition for operating the barrier both in and out. Patrols by uniformed guards after dark.
Entertainment - we enjoyed two live bands on the small terrace - one jazz, the other rock - and were able to buy reasonably priced drinks and snacks here too.
Pitch was of a good size, in a quiet location at the end of a cul-de-sac, beside a substantial perimeter fence. Bollard housing tap and waste had been knocked over, but usable.
Generally a clean and tidy site - a credit to the hard working staff.
Value for money as we were just about within the low season to use our ACSI discount card.
Cons.
Large site, but this is disguised by landscaping. Many chalets and other permanent accommodation.
Noise from barking dogs through the night, presumably from the rescue centre mentioned in other reviews.
Unpleasant 'pee' smell at the pitch at times, possibly left by cats? We splashed some scented water about in an attempt to overpower the pong.
Inconsiderate people putting toilet paper in the gents urinals rendering them unusable until cleared by the cleaning/maintenance staff in the morning. Young adults possibly? Also, there was loose 'tobacco' on vanity units some mornings which may be an indication of something more sinister having taken place.
Would we stay here again? Only out of season when hopefully those with better standards of hygiene and behaviour are in residence.

We stayed during the off peak season. Even so there were lots of others spending their winter on site. This included quite a few Brits. Even in March I would say about 50% of the touring pitches were occupied.
Although the pitches are numbered it was difficult to get a van on some of them due to the trees. We did not have enough space to erect our awning.
The outdoor pools were closed but the spa and indoor pool were open and were free of charge on weekdays.
The food in both the bar and restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. As were the drinks.
The toilet block was heated and kept very clean.
The reception staff spoke good English and were very professional.
We enjoyed our stay and would return again during the off peak seasons.

We have just stayed at this site for the third time and found it as excellent as ever. There are definitely more bungalows than when we were here four years ago, but the site is so spacious and well-landscaped that this is not a problem. There are about five separate ares for tourers. In our experience the pitches are very large - room for our largish caravan, awning, car, and plenty left over for chairs, washing line etc.
It's true there are stray cats but we like this as we are cat lovers. However I can see that this would not suit everyone. I think the previous reviewer must have been very unlucky in his pitch - we had no problems at all with dogs or sawdust, and the shower block we used was immaculate. The cubicles (both loo and shower) are much more roomy than the norm, which is useful for those of us who are not as sylph-like as we used to be! Even the washing-up and laundry areas are quite luxurious.
The supermarket is the best we have come across on a campsite - a wide range of foods, fresh meat, fresh fruit and veg, and an on-site bakery for a variety of bread and cakes. It's a little dearer than the Mercadona in town but this is outweighed by the convenience.
Four years ago we found the restaurant expensive but prices must have come down because this time we were very impressed - a three-course meal with lots of choice, featuring interesting local specialities, was 12 euros, and of course you could also have pizza, pasta etc.
The reception staff speak several languages and are very helpful. Security is excellent. There is an army of staff cleaning, tidying and keeping the trees and grass trimmed. It was half-term when we were there and there were lots of activities laid on, and the swimming pool stays open until 4/11, so it's a good venue for a late-season break.

Decided on this site after reading reviews on here and was looking forwards to staying on this site but was very disappointed. Arrived on site on a Sunday, shown to pitch G28 behind supermarket, was ok but need a mash hammer to put awning pegs in, bent rock pegs as ground so hard.
Toilets clean enough but some required maintenance ie broken hooks, broken door hinges in cubicles, shower drains smelly, as there was a cleaner present for most of the day she must have noticed the repairs needing done and the smelly drains.
There was a noisy fan on supermarket wall which rattled all the time. There was also a lot of barking dogs from about 5am, there was a dog refuge close by.
Went out for the day, to return to a caravan and awning covered in sawdust from a sawmill outside site. Same on Tuesday, sawmill working till 8pm, dust everywhere. Wednesday pack up and moved to another site.
The rest of the site does look very good, pool area, restaurant and bar area was spotless.

Stayed 4 nights at this site on 9th june 2011,
Pitch allocated small shaded but ok, could have moved if I had requested, The site really changed on the 12th the entertainment came alive the take away started, and the Spanish started to arrive. A complete change to the 3 previous days.
I quite enjoyed the change in the site with more people arriving, at this time the site was probably 15% full with more arriving every day,
We used this site travelling from Santander to Reach the south coast, then travelled on.
Yes I would visit again, the toilets were spotless
The supermarket was reasonable, and the town only 15 minutes by bus from outside the gates of the site were worth a day out.

We stayed here for 4 nights using camping cheques, the site was quite for the time of year. We were allowed to select our own pitch which suited us with a large caravan, some pitches are small sloping and would be hard to geton too,
Shower blocks are very good as is all the facilities,
The only fault was the number of wild cats they where everywhere we even found them in our awning on our return from a day out,
The bus to the railway station is very good as you can get the train into Barcelona,
We would use this site again if we were in the area.

Stayed here for 2 weeks mid October. This is a very large terraced site and although nearly 3/4 of the pitches are given over to a mixture of residential/cabin/ and long term pitches, this goes largely unnoticed as the touring area gives the impression of being separate. There are 2 very large public areas on the site which contain the excellent swimming pools with large grassed areas for sunbathing/relaxing and a small zoo. The restaurant overlooks one of the large pools and this area also houses the shops and excellent supermarket. I found the staff to be very helpful & welcoming and security is very obvious and reassuring. The bus route into Villanova I'La Geltrui starts at the entrance of the site and goes by the railway station where you can catch the coastal train to Barcelona, both bus and train services are very regular. I would certainly use this site again if in this area.

As a previous reviewer said, it's a popular overwintering site for people from all over Europe - when we were there, there was a large enclave of Dutch campers and several Danes as well as lots of Brits. We stayed there for 5 weeks from December through January, flying home for a few days at Christmas on a cheap Easyjet flight from Barcelona - there's a reasonably-priced taxi service that collects from the campsite / airport. In summer when the site is full it must be pretty noisy and crowded, but in winter it was lovely, just enough people around to be friendly but no queues for the facilities. The toilet blocks were excellent, spacious, comfortable and clean and well-heated, which is essential as the weather can be quite cold in winter. The on site supermarket was excellent and the restaurant very attractive, if a little expensive. It was a treat to find a site with so many facilities open all year round - a lot of the other overwintering sites in Europe close their shops and restaurants in low season. As well as Barcelona there are many interesting towns to visit in the area, including Tarragona, Sitges and Reus.

Used extensively by brits overwintering in warmer climes. A large site well run with excellent facilities including good shop/restaurant etc. Pitches tend to be of variable size from average to large and often heavily shaded by trees. Good in the sun in summer but not so good in low season. Most pitches are spoiled by a kerb off the road which is difficult for caravans and often involves help from others to site as van.
This site is well situated not too far from Barcelona (accessible by local train) but locally town and beach facilities are good. Better than the usual Spanish costas for being long established.
I was taken seriously ill whilst on site and support for my wife from the management and other campers was second to none
Would like to return
