We arrived at the site and thought it was in a good spot the views were amazing and breath taking. We spend the weekend there with friends, we visited the water falls which was fantastic. We had found the site was suitable but was far from luxury. We found the toilet to be rather old and shabby. The one shower looked uninviting hence we waited till we got home!
We did have a wonderful time the site is in a prime spot just in need of some updating

What a fantastic little site. Len and Jean (I think!) were really friendly and helpful and this is reflected in the site -every credit to them.
The walk to the village for breakfast was very pleasant and just the right length (just over a mile). The site was very quiet and peaceful. The facilities clean and basic - just perfect. Even the rain did not spoil the weekend. We had two dogs with us and location and site were perfect.
The only sad thing to mar the surroundings is the 'building site' surrounding the flying horse. Work has stopped again on it apparently but I am sure they could have left it tidier!
Will definitely visit again.

Dropped on this site by pure accident, a little gem tucked away with beautiful views. We stayed 3no nights, £12 per night inc. Hook up. The wardens were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
The site has good facilities with a single shower (50p token from site office) washing up sinks with constant hot water, electric hook up's and the pitches were pretty level. The site has mainly seasonal pithes with many long standing residents, who stay year after year.
Clapham village is 1-1/4 miles walk, not that far really. The pub serves very nice food and the staff were pleasant. The village shop was a bit sparse on provisions (must have had a rush of custom!) You can get a bus into Ingleton (about every hour) where there is a co-op.
The walks around the area are super with stunning scenery.
Clapham: walk to Ingleborough Cave £15 family of 4 - stunning rock formations.
Ingleton: walk to Ingleton Falls £9 family of 4 - nice walk with plenty to see. Ingleton also has an open-air swimming pool, so lots of fun to be had for the everyone.
Will visit again.

Beautifully quiet campsite with good pitches for tents. The showers are only 50p and hot and long lasting, tokens are obtained at the office, which is run by the most helpful people it is possible to meet, supplies of milk, eggs and teabags etc can also be obtained from the office. The shower block and toilets have a washing up and preparation area in the middle with plenty of hot water available. Clapham itself is a mile and a quarter away from the site but doesn't take long to walk and didn't bother me or the family one bit. I will most definitely go their again as I enjoyed the peacefulness and the views.

My husband and 4 children and I stayed for a week at this lovely quiet site. It is managed by a very friendly chap (Len) and his wife. They are always on hand to help out or offer assistance and being local they had lots of knowledge for us townies! This site has regular seasonal visitors and they have been coming for years so that speaks volumes. Level (almost) pitch. Lovely grass for the kids to play on and the most spectacular views of mountains and scenery I have seen in a site for ages. The toilet block is clean and tidy and the shower 50p is hot and lasts long enough for a good shower. This site is just across the road from the railway station and so getting about is even easier. Also there are lots of pretty walks from the doorstep and lots of little streams to catch sticklebacks in. All in all we would definatley stay here again. The village of clapham has a lovely tea room and pub and Ingleton with it's great park (with closed circuit tv) and heated open air pool is beautiful.

Please note, that whilst the campsite is still operating the hotel itself has closed down, so the bar and restaurant facilities are no longer on site!

Stayed for three nights. The site is thirty seconds walk from the railway station, behind the Flying Horseshoe public house.
First disappointment was that the Flying Horseshoe is no longer open. According to the locals it has been closed for about three years. This meant a one and a quarter mile walk down an unlit lane into Clapham village for a pint, although the beer (Copper Dragon Brewery, Skipton) was worth it.
The site itself is separated into "hard" areas for caravans and grassy areas for tents. However, as I struggled to get any tent peg to go more than four inches into the ground before hitting rock, I wondered if the grassy area was once stone and had merely been covered in topsoil and turfed. The grass was nicely cut and the whole site was very tidy.
As for the facilities, there is one building housing separate mens' and womens' toilets and a dish washing room. The mens' room has two wash basins with hot and cold taps, two urinals and two toilets. Unfortuately, although there was hot water on the first two mornings, by lunchtime the boiler had broken down and was being looked at by a fitter! On day three, it was in pieces and there wasn't any hot water at all. Finally, although the village is over a mile away, the warden sells milk and a few other essential items from his caravan.
To conclude, a nice site in a lovely, scenic area, which was probably fantastic when the pub was open and you could get back from climbing Ingleborough and reward yourself with a pint or two within spitting distance of your unit. However, speaking as a backpacker, although the site is really handy for the train station, it is a little too far from the village and at this time of year when it is going dark at half past eight and I want to spend a couple of hours in the pub before going to bed, the walk back to the site - up the hill in the pitch dark - is a bit off-putting.
