I have always dreamed of finding a beautiful country pub with a campsite attached to it so that I can get pleasantly addled and drop straight into my campervan - and now I have.
The Deers Hut is just off the A3 and we booked to stay as an overnight stop on the way to Swanage.
The pub is great and serves good pub grub (although the vegetarian is OK rather than excellent). The field is v secluded and good value at £11 per night with electric, although the sound of gunfire from the army firing range can be a bit disconcerting!
We liked it so much we stayed again on the way back!

The camping was great even when we wanted to use a shower and it was 20p for a minute but it like lasted for an hour. It had great surroundings.
The pub was also great.
Everything was great, great, GREAT! I love the place I could call it home if I wanted to!
People are so nice it was clean to.
We had a 3 man tent and it was only £4 a day/pitch. Prrrrrrrrfect!

Stayed at this site many times and always get a friendly welcome from Steve and Lorraine the landlord and landlady of the pub who run the site. Lovely site, nice field hook ups around the perimeter with no pitches in the middle which makes it nice for everyone. Liphook only a mile away for shops etc. The pub does very good food, recommend the ribeye steaks.

Gps found the site very easily.
Arrived and were shown where to pitch our caravan. Very quiet despite being a bank holiday weekend, although by Sunday a few more people had arrived, but it was still a pleasantly quiet site.
The only rules we were set were no camp fires, and bar-b-ques were to be off the ground.
There was an elsan tip set against the edge of the field. The ladies and gents toilets and shower cubicle was joint to the back of the pub.In addition to the water taps. I would of liked there to have been a mop and bucket in the shower room, as it was particularly muddy when I popped my head in, and the dirty floor put me off using it.
The site itself was spacious and with the trees around the edge and woodland, gave a very peaceful setting and we didnt find any noise from the road a problem.
We ate in the Deers Hut pub on the Friday night, and enjoyed the meal we had.
Had a very pleasant surprise when walking the dog one afternoon. When approaching the site a deer ran out of the woodland and paused before running off back into the woods. So I would recommend a walk in the adjacent bridleway by the site, as wildlife is abundant.
There is a few selected shops in Liphook which is about a mile down the road, including a Sainsbury which opened till 10pm.
All in all, we had a very restful weekend here, and we have booked to return here again, as our son found the space available great to let off steam.
If you are looking for a non commercial site with a 'back to nature' feel, I would recommend this site. The cost of our electric hook up was £11 a night, and we could arrive any time, and leave any time. Very relaxing!

Just stayed one night to give it the once over for winter camping as it is open all year.
Nice secluded little site, plenty of shelter as it is surrounded by large trees and established hedgerows. Facilities are functional and clean but you have to walk round the facility block from the toilet to wash hands in shower room. Shower room is a good size and would easily accommodate a family for showering all at once also plenty of hooks (hooray) and a bench for clothes/towels etc.
The pub was very friendly with a realistically priced basic menu and dogs are allowed inside (another hooray!) with you when you eat so the whole family can be together.
Lots of footpaths nearby but I wouldn't bother with Liphook unless you needed anything from Sainsburys!
Ideal stop off if you have an early ferry to catch. I will definitely give it a try in the winter.

I have just come back from spending a lovely weekend at this campsite with a group of friends. We camped in the smaller field which was next to the geese (who were lovely). There was one electric hook up in this field but the larger field was surrounded by hook ups.Larger tents, caravans and motor homes were in the big field. The field we were in was marked off by tall hedges and so gave the feeling of privacy. The facilities consisted of a ladies toilet, a gents toilet and a shower room, which was clean and for a couple of 20 pence pieces gave a good, hot shower. There were also two taps, one which gave drinking water. Although the facilities were fairly basic, they did the job.
The campsite is situated behind a picture postcard pub. We did not eat in the pub but food was available and looked nice. There were a couple of other pubs just over a mile down the road and a Sainsbury's was also nearby.
The owners were very friendly and laid back and there was no check in or check out time, made a nice change.I would definitely return to this site.

This is a small field located behind the public house. Surrounded by trees the field has eletric hook up and a waste disposal area, this field is mainly for caravans and larger tents. There is a smaller area for small tents, this has a large hedge around it and you over look a fenced area home to around 10 surprisingly quiet geese.
The facilities consist of ladies and gents toilets and shower, the shower costs 20 pence and lasts around 2 mins (it recomends 3 x 20p to enjoy an average shower). All facilites are very clean however old and really could do with mondernisation (just a tip the shower curtain is black with mould). In Liphook there is a couple of pubs and other amenities you would expect in a village, there is also a Sainburys in the village. The site cost £9.50 a night and has great connections to West Sussex and Hampshire.

A lovely small site with slightly sloping pitches, surrounded by trees. The campsite is to the left of the pub with toilets, shower and water taps attached to the back of the pub. The pub itself serves a basic but fairly priced menu ( I had a seafood platter for £5) There are plenty of walks in the area perfect for ramblers, cyclists and dog walkers. There is some noise from the A3 but not enough to become an annoyance. This site is a perfect base for exploring the surrounding area (Portsmouth 25 miles) We paid £9 per night and will definitely return.

Found the site very easily and nicely situated near the A3, there is very little noise from the road and the location is very peaceful. We arrived lateish in the evening and the owners were very friendly and welcoming. The site itself offers very little to do for kids but has some woods and fields nearby which we found difficult to get our children out of. In our opinion what the sites lacks in terms of facilities is made up for in peace and quiet, friendliness and convenience. On this site you get basic toilet facilities and 1 shower. That said its not advertised as a commercial site, its a small pub site which adds to its charm. TV reception is very poor but Pub has big screen TV and so missing the England v Paraguay games was not an issue. Very reasonable pitch fees at just £9 per night with electric hook up, its and ideal stop over. A charming site, will definitely be back!

Having just arrived home with 3 happy dogs, and 2 happy campers we feel we should write and let you know our feelings. The site itself is very compact and tidy, we were made very welcome by steve and lorraine. Their pub is super, with freshly cooked tasty food at a very reasonable price. We did not use their showers or loo as we always use our own but they were very clean. The dog walks are endless and we found the locals extremely friendly. Overall we all had a great three days and will be returning soon
