I'm a bit reluctant to post a review of this campsite as it is a hidden gem. People return year after year for many reasons. The site can be forgiven it's minor shortcomings due to it's fantastic location, the friendly nature of Steve and Shirley, the owners, and the community spirit on site. I can confirm the toilets are cleaned every day. These are cleaned late at night when most of us are sharing a Rattler or two, or during the day when we are all at the lovely sandy beach trying to bodyboard when the Red flags are raised! The hot showers are enhanced with plenty of silver hooks to hang towels etc.
As this site is located very close to the beach there is no need to use the car. Not having to pay for car parking means the cost of staying at Marvers is excellent value.
The very handy local shops have friendly staff and they are always glad to see you year after year. A family pub in walking distance is a fantastic bonus. The food is good value, the drink is very welcome and the locals are a right old hoot. Finally Steve loves his fishing and will always give you tips on where to fish - his boat being the best place! He might even take you out on it!

The position of the site is the only thing good about this site, near to beach and shops.
The facilities on site are virtually non -existent. The shower block is so out of date its laughable. The toilets had no toilet rolls when we were there.
Site pitches were muddy and bare of grass.
Did not see the owners at all when we were there

On the plus side this site is in a great little village with sufficient shops and the local pub the merrymoor does a superb selection of local ales and a carvery on certain dates to die for, the beach is lovely with lifeguards for normal hours and is large with lots for the kids to do fly a kite, surf, fish in the pools left by the tide or just play in the sand
The site has all facilities you could want for in: showers, washing machines, sink for the dishes, taps near to the pitches which are large, electricity if required.
On the down side the proprietors did not regularly clean the toilets or shower block, we spent 2 weeks there and did not notice any of them cleaned once, the pitches are largely soil/ mud and need re- seeding where tents have been, the parts where there is grass need regularly cutting when either un-occupied or on change over days.

A great site and one of very few in the area open during the winter months. Toilets/showers a bit basic but clean, and a friendly welcome from the owners.
A level walk to the pub (great pint of Sharps Doom Bar!) and beach.
There is another small site directly behind Marver and I have also stayed there, but prefer Marver.

A FANTASTIC little site, level, the 'Middle' pitches are a good size for caravan and awning. The 'outside' pitches again ample for smaller caravan and awning and large tents. We have been going to the Marver for three years now, it's a family run campsite run by Shirley and Steve. They also have four chalets and three / four static caravans. Site is open for pitches all year round. There is a small toilet/shower block, 20p for a great 5 min HOT shower, washing up facilities, washing machines / dryer, Sauna. Dog friendly. It is about 200yds flat walk to the beach which is dog friendly all year round. Great surf, a little hidden gem from the busy Newquay area. Great pub nearby that does good food. If you like small, clean basic family run sites, you can't go wrong with the Marver at anytime of year.
