Just spent the weekend on this quiet, well kept site in a picturesque location. Just across the road from Wenlock Edge, so wonderful for walking. There is a National Trust bird hide on the Edge from which we saw woodpeckers, green and bullfinches, amongst many other lovely birds. Pitches on the site are well spaced, some grass and some hardstanding. Only a 2 and a half mile journey into Much Wenlock, which is very pretty and boasts some nice teas shops. Another place worth visiting is Church Stretton, about 13 miles away and if you like hill walking then tackle the Long Mynd for spectacular views.

This site is quite a way out of Much Wenlock and you will need to use the car to get to most things.
The site is on an old railway line and hence is long and thin with part of the platforms still visible.
This was the first time we have stayed anywhere without a toilet block, it made no difference and despite there being no play area, there were several families on the site and so our 8 year old quickly made friends,
a good site for a bike, not so good for a scooter due to the rough ground.
The petrol station in Much Wenlock is very surprising as it has a deceptively large shop with it which has just about everything from fresh fish and hot deli to puncture repair kits.
If you need something try this before you trek the 13 odd miles to the nearest large supermarket. The site is very sheltered with lots of wildlife about and the wardens are very friendly.
Great value for money we would definitely return.

Got to the site after a stressful journey to be greeted by a lovely couple in the office.
Got set up with a little difficulty getting the steel awning pegs into the stoney ground and settled in. After a well deserved cuppa we took the dogs down to the site dog walk which is very peaceful. No toilets or showers but hey what do you want for a very reasonable price of £9 a night.
Much Wenlock is a pretty little village with some interesting buildings and friendly people.
Would we return? Definitely!

This site is a hidden gem. We have just had a three day break here and it wasn't enough! We had a great pitch, great views, best satellite reception we have had yet.
The wardens are lovely and very helpful. The dog walk is really good. It was explained to us that there was a problem with the water but there were large water tanks just in case, I can honestly say though that we didn't have a problem at all.
The site is ideally situated for Ironbridge and it's museums ( If you are thinking of going to the museums and want to buy a passport go on the website for Ironbridge and download free passports for kids with a full paying adult, it saved us £30). Wenlock edge is just over the road and a superb walk. Lots to see in the area, Much Wenlock is a gorgeous little town as is Bridgenorth. All in all I can't complain at all.
There are no facilities or a park on this site therefore a low score for facilities and child friendliness.
At £9 a night all year round we will definitely be going back for another visit.

Presthope is an excellent little site, in the cracking location amongsth the Shropshire Hills. Walks from the site are excellent, with views over the local countryside and quarry.
The site has minimal facilities - electricity, water and disposal points, so you will need your own facilities. This is reflected in the excellent prices, which were just £8 per unit.
A great little site for exploring the area - would certainly return!

Just got back from a 4 night stay at this site,
I have to say we we’re really impressed, the site is basically set around an old railway station and still even had the platform with the “Presthope” sign, They have photos in the reception of when it was a station so there is a bit of history with site too,
Negative points: No toilet block (but for £8 a night who cares), Ground was rock hard and even bent some of our hardstanding pegs despite the fact we we’re on a grass pitch but eventually got the awning pegged, There is no play area either on this site and ball games are not allowed on any part of it. And finally some road noise from the B road behind the site,.(Didn’t effect us but may effect you if you sleep in the awning)
Now for the good bits, Site is right opposite part of the wenlock edge, spectacular walking, great for the dogs, The dog walk is also really good on the site.
The site is about 2.5 miles outside of Much Wenlock, there are some great little shops and for essentials there is a spar shop and a Nisa attached to a shell garage, Telford is about 12 miles away where there is all manner of high street shops and is all undercover if you need something to do on a rainy day.
The nearest pub is the wenlock edge inn which is about 2 miles away in the opposite direction to much wenlock, We walked it in about an hour but we walked the scenic route along wenlock edge which was lovely. The pub is quite expensive and we didn’t eat there but was very pretty and gave us a much needed refreshment break after our walk.
Bridgnorth is about 6 miles away, there are quite a few shops here and also on a Saturday has a market, there are also many walks around Bridgnorth especially round by the river. There is also the Severn Valley railway that runs from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster which is really worth a visit.
I would highly recommend this site,

We got off to a bad start! The Caravan Club told the wardens we would arrive between 2:30 - 4:30 but didn't ask us! We arrived at 6:00pm yet they 'close' at 5:30pm in the week! Shame we didn't know! Then she asked us to drive onto the pitch, then realised our door is on the offside; so asked us to reverse on!
The site is level with some pitches having superb views down the valley, others can be down the end under trees and a bit dark & damp. Very poor TV reception, not all mobiles work and it depends which pitch you choose as to Satellite reception. It's next to a busy 'B' road which quietens down in the evening.
You should think of this site as a large CL and as such a bit expensive. No toilets/showers etc, just electric, water and waste point.
The exit is up a very steep drive onto the 'B'road

We found this site very relaxing and very friendly. It has a small shop and an information hut, wardens were helpful. It has no toilet block or a play park. Take rock pegs you will need them. Good dog walk on site. We thought the check in a little strange - you have to leave your unit by the reception go and pick your pitch then go back to reception tell the warden the number and then take the unit to the pitch. They were doing it this way, as there is little parking - there was a queue of units waiting on a very sloping road. Don't let this put you of from going here its a lovely site and all for £8.00 a night

We arrived on a drizzly Friday evening and were relieved to find that despite the sites restrictions on large units the approach was not narrow or difficult to navigate. The pitches are however small and it was fairly difficult to reverse into place without the car disappearing down a hill!
The site itself was clean and seemed well run with gas available and a little hut containing tourist information. There is no toilet or shower block. You can empty your loo though!
For a family with young children there were few facilities and a lack of open space to play on. My dog did enjoy the dog walk though!
Just a couple of miles and you could reach Much Wenlock with its fabulous restaurants. A visit to the Raven is a must!
Take advantage of the museum passport and vist Blist Hills victorian village. A great morning was spent there and then we visited the other museums for free afterwards using the passport and free bus between them.
We will use this again but if you have an awning and a large car the pitches are cosy to say the least.
