We spent 5 nights here, and we stayed during a heat wave, needless to say we had a lovely time with our dogs. It is a Caravan Club site, and was up to the usual standards. All the grass and plantings are well maintained, and the majority of the hard standings appear level, ours (pitch 21) was spot on. Service at reception is very good, and all the wardens were pleasant and helpful. There is an 'information' shed, packed to the gunnels with 'places to visit/eat' etc, which was very helpful.

The shower blocks are not new, but are clean and adequate. During our stay the site was occupied near to capacity but neither of us had to wait for a shower. There are several toilets and urinals, and a nice touch is 4/5 private access cubicles (with curtains), where you can wash in peace. The chemical disposal point is next to the blocks, as is grey water disposal, and the only fresh water supply on a large site that is easy to use, I will explain. This tap, is a normal twist for water tap, and can accommodate the the filling hose that comes with an aqua roll or equivalent. All the others on site, are push to activate and you get water for about 10 seconds before you have to press again. The worst thing, is the water outlets on the taps are triangular, so you have to hold your hose in place and keep pressing the button, so although the taps are meant to save water, it sprays everywhere and you get wet through. If you are visiting bring a length of about 8 inches of inch and a half plastic tubing, and you will be fine. Our other grumble is the state of the track onto site from the road, it is like a war zone of quite deep potholes. On site there is a nice large secure dog exercise field, with two poop bins with shovels.

It is our second caravan visit to Anglesey, two years ago we stayed at Cae Mawr, just down the road, so we now know our way around the Island. If you like sandy beaches, we found superb clean beaches at Ligwy (2 1/2 miles away), Benllech (not dog friendly), Rhoscolyn, and numerous around Trearddur Bay (on the main beach, dogs are only allowed on one half of it, but within walking distance from it there are many sandy bays, well off the road, where dogs can swim and play).

There are also some outstandingly beautiful places to visit, all involve a drive, but they are worth it. Our favorites are South Stack, Parys Mountain (abandoned copper mine, steep in parts, and it's like a moonscape!), Red Wharf Bay, Moelfry and Amlwch. We would seriously consider this site if we came to Anglesey again, but we hope to discover new places.

Entrance to the site is on the straight part of an 's' bend, so beware when you are near to site. The site it self is in 2 parts the first part is just after the wardens office all hard standing, if you have a sat dish you will need to keep to the entrance end of this field to get a signal as it has large trees all round. This is where the motor home service point is. The other field is larger and has grass pitches as well as hard standing. Usual toilet block as per caravan club. A dog walk is next to the site entrance this is a large fenced field. Morning papers can be ordered from the site office.

This is a nice caravan club site with both hardstanding and grassy pitches.

Some of the pitches are on a grassy slope and look very precarious! Levelling blocks are a must for these. There are some high trees which do tend to block the evening sun and can leave some pitches in the shade long before the sun sets. The toilet block requires a key which I forgot to take on every occasion. It was always spotless and warm when I eventually got in though.

The only problem I had with this site is the ridiculous taps that have been installed to provide fresh water. They are of the push button type with a square spout which nothing will fit on to. When the button is pressed the water sprays all over the place, everywhere except into the water hog! You have been warned!

The children's play area is a tiny slide in a giant circle of bark.

Spent 4 nights here. The site is easy to find on the B5110 from Benllech. Follow the Caravan Club directions. The site entrance road is a little tight for large units.

Reasonable amount of parking near reception. It was a weekend and the Club website said it was full, but when we phoned up they had a few pitches available. Friendly reception.

As we were one of the last on site, we did not have many pitches to chose from and ended up on 55 next to the toilet block. Both hard standing and grass pitches on site.

Most pitches are a good size and well maintained. Our only problem was that we lost the sun after 16. Oo and had to watch many other plots basking in the evening sunshine!

The toilet block was fine, if a little dated. Still not sure why sites use a key for the toilet block.

Good dog walk near the site entrance.

We did find the plot smelly quite often. Not from the toilet block, but from the septic tanks nearby. Quite horrible sometimes. Other people on the site said it was often like that. Not nice.

Plenty to see on Anglesey - Beaumaris, Menai, Penmon, Bull Bay, Cemaes Bay, South Stack etc etc. Make sure you go for a pint at the Ship Inn at Red Wharf Bay. Great ales and fine food overlooking the sea.

Overall an enjoyable time and we will return - just hope the nasty niff is not there!

Very good site as with all c/c sites, good size hard standings etc. Wifi almost finished.

Main concern is the toilet blocks are starting to look tired now and a few problems with the Elsan point blocking up (sure it did the same on our last visit two years ago)

If you want TV the reception, at least on the lower pitches is poor.

The kids seem to love the site but made me cringe a few times speeding down the hill on their bikes or scooters onto the gravel, but thankfully no accidents while we there.

Good base for the many attractions on the island.

Good selection of wild birds so put your feeders up.

Stayed at Penrhros for one night in July having booked in at very short notice. The wardens couldn’t have been more helpful and gave us pick of the vacant pitches to set up on.

The site is in a beautiful position about 2 miles from Benllech and 4 miles or so from Llangefni so you will need a car to get around in. That said it’s only about a 20 minute walk to the nearest pub (The California), which is well worth the walk as the welcome is warm and the food good and reasonably priced.

We would have loved to stay for longer but had to move on but we will definitely stay there again next time we are in Anglesey

This is a great campsite, the pitch we got we (choose your own) was fantastic, huge hardstanding with a large grass area too. Far enough away from the play area so not to hear the kids, but near enough to keep an eye on our 6 and 9 year olds. We arrived on the Friday before the May school holidays and glad we did as by Saturday morning it was full, so get there early to get the best pitch!

The kids loved the play field and each night had either a cricket or a football match, loads of kids joined in, even the dads did too.

The site has a really good atmosphere to it, not too quiet, but just right. No noisy campers here after dark.

Toilet block was always clean and didn't have to wait for a shower even thought the site was full. Although only 1 hairdryer!

There are some great beaches just a short drive away and there are a few shops nearby too.

We'll be going back here again.

One of the most pleasant CC sites we have stayed on. Great welcome from the very friendly wardens, and the whole site had a well cared for feel about it.

The site is in two areas, mostly with hard standings (very useful following the usual Easter washout weather!) but also with some on grass.

There's a motorhome service point in the smaller of the two areas, and the shower block was well up to the CC's usual high standard.

We were only there for one night, but would be more than happy to return for longer.

Found out by accident that we could stay on Caravan Club sites with a folding camper so this was our first time on a CC site.

The club website was showing the site fully booked but when we phoned 2 days before we wanted to go the wardens were very helpful and said they had pitches available. When we arrived we were shown a plan of the site and which pitches were available and then told to go and choose one and let them know the pitch number.

The site and toilet block were immaculate and the wardens were visible most of the day around the site seeing to the general upkeep. The thing I notice most from other campsites was the lack of people having showers in the evenings (most people seemed to be in their caravans watching TV!)and we never queued for showers once. The showers had adjustable temperature and one cubicle had a detachable shower head which was great for my 7 year old who hates hot showers pouring down on top of his head.

The washing up area was indoors and consisted of a laundry sink and a washing-up / vegetable preparation sink. There were sometimes queues for washing up and people were having to use the laundry sink, but a sign said it was being updated soon.

When we decided to stay longer than we had booked the wardens put our name in a book and then left a message on the board. They did this for other people too.

If this is usual Caravan Club site quality then I shall try to use their sites in future.

Lligwy beach a few miles up the coast is a great beach and crab fishing off the pier in Beaumaris is hours of cheap fun for kids and adults.
