Facilities at this site are excellent. There is a decent sized outdoor pool and separate baby pool, along with 2 waterslides and an indoor pool. There are also plenty of sunbeds around the pool area. The restaurant served the usual pizzas and omelettes, quite expensive but adequate.
Our pitch was a good size. I advised we had an 8 berth tent and we had enough room for the tent and a porch extension. I booked just electric hookup but also got a water tap at the pitch was handy. There wasn't much privacy between pitches where we were but other pitches did have more trees planted around. We weren't offered a choice of pitch but people near us were and the site seemed happy to accommodate any requests. I also hired a fridge (€5 per night).
The toilet/shower facilities were good and had a good standard of cleanliness. There is a washer/dryer here and they have now replaced the soggy carpet with tiled flooring (see other reviews).
Bikes can be hired for €4 per half day and pony rides are available around the site for young children €5 - book in advance for both as very popular.
Overall we enjoyed this site. Although for families, we felt it was geared more to those with teenage children and was very busy and quite noisy at night. (although it was always quiet by just after midnight)

We visited end of August 2008 for 13 nights, plenty of pitches to choose from so picked a full service pitch at no extra cost. Would advise parking by toilet block and search for pitch on foot. Internet connection is better closer to reception and FREE. The shop has limited stock this late in the season, but there are at least 2 SuperUs within 5 mins of site.
Carnac is a nice town with many little shops to browse. The site pool is excellent and we were the only people in it some days, the indoor pool was good on cloudy days but we struck lucky with the weather low 20s most days. Hope to return June 09 exchange rate permitting.

We chose this site because we have two children aged 14 and 10 and wanted things for them to do. We went with two other sets of friends, having previously asked to be pitched together - which was agreed. When we arrived (the greeting was excellent, English very good) we had two pitches side by side and another over the other side of a road, which was slightly disappointing. We asked to move but could not as the site was fully booked, and remained so for all bar three of the 14 nights we were there - mostly French and quite a few Brits. The two pitches together were small and on a slight slope (if you go make sure to ask for a large pitch and there are quite a few)- so much so that we had to turn the caravan by hand which took quite a while. The van (an Adria Adora) would not fit across the back of the pitch so we had to put it at 90 degrees right against a privet hedge, the awning then took up the rest of the back of the pitch. - no room for the sun awning ! The car had to go along the front of the pitch so we were left with a very small amount of mud (most of the pitches were very well used and mainly earth with grass around the edges) on which to put our table and chairs - we spent most of the holiday moving them from place to place in order to avoid the washing, the wasps and the car and catch the sun. The pitch was private - in fact we had to cut down quite a lot of the privet. Good satellite reception.
It was a bit noisy as we were next to the main throughfare up to the toilet/shower block. There is only one block with different entrances on each side for the toilets/showers etc. We only had to wait a couple of times for a shower. The block was clean and there was loo paper at the entrance if you forgot your own ! Washing up and hand washing sinks were clean and there was plenty of hot water. The 'laundry room' consisted of two washers (4 euros) and two driers (2 euros)-(both large capacity) but they were in constant use during the day. The room itself smelled as one of the machines leaked and the floor was sopping wet and filthy.
Electricity hookups roughly every three pitches - same for water, but you had to go through a pitch to get to it, so sometimes it was a little awkward. One disposal point for both grey water and toilet waste.
Takeaway food, the usual pizzas, chips etc. Chips were 2.50 euros for a very small container. There was a restaurant on site with a limited menu but we didn't use it so couldn't comment. Usual bar facilities - quite small area, like the restaurant.
Entertainment at night, usually films, karaoke, disco etc. At the entrance there was a small bouncy castle and two table tennis tables - the latter of which were in use all day and evening - this is where the teenagers met in the evenings, but they were not overly loud. The site was, in general, quiet by 11.30p.M. With people up and about starting at 8 a.M. Pools opened at 9.30, closed at 7.30(usually packed from 11 - 4) and the kids loved these, especially the slides (4) together with one twirly one. New this year was the indoor pool which was nice, but a bit crowded.
Excellent shop on site which sold just about everything including bread all day. There were horse 'rides' (3 horses kept in a field by the entrance) which consisted of the horses and riders being led around the campsite at a slow walk, bike hire, fridge hire and three zip wires - the kids enjoyed these although the instructor (also the site handyman) could not speak English. Two playgrounds for smallish kids. Lots of nice walks through the nearby forests and one bar within walking distance - very friendly people. We also went to the nearby Parc d'Adrenalin which was fantastic with lots of zip wires for all ages (they say from 2 - 92). A brilliant day out.
Carnac is a VERY busy place on market days (Tues and Sun). Market huge, lovely - typically french with everything from live animals, clothes, leather goods, food and drink etc. Pizza Restaurant opposite market excellent, especially for children. Vannes great for shopping (lots of little individual shops) and for a walk along the port. Carnac Plage nice - good beaches but crowded - we went a little further out and found a great place near the estuary, nice sand, clean water and crabbing ! One supermarket in Carnac (SuperU), others within ten kilometres or so but remember they all shut at lunchtime on a Sunday and usually around 7 or 8 in the evening.
On the whole we had a nice time, but the site has expanded and the facilities seem stretched for the number of people. It is clean and well maintained and would certainly suit families with younger children perhaps not too much older than 15/16.

Just returned from a 2 week stay here. Site a short drive from centre of Carnac and several good beaches. Good pool areas with slides which kids enjoyed and separate pool for the smaller ones. Staff friendly and helpful. Bakery on site for delicious baguettes and croissants on a morning. Free bouncy castles and internet access. Decent entertainment on a night, could be a little noisy on pitches close to reception but always quiet by 11:30pm. One
Downside was due to good weather, pitches were dry and therefore very dusty, would recommend taking tarpaulin covers to put down. Overall a good campsite and good value for money (approx £340) for a good size pitch with electicity, water and drainage. Booked ours on internet with campsite correspondence excellent, no problems at all.

Have just got back from 2 weeks at Le Moustoir. This is a fairly quiet site, considering it's size. We have a twin axle caravan and 4 wheel drive, and our pitch had difficult access, was really too small, and was very dusty. We had to manoeuvre van onto pitch by hand (with help from other UK caravanners) when we arrived, and we moved to a different pitch the day before leaving as we could not get out! There are plenty of water pipes, but waste water had to be emptied into WC disposal points, as there was no drainage for this. The swimming pool is good - sun loungers provided, but usually taken by others! Kids enjoyed the flume and slides. There were organized activities for children but my 13 year old son did not want to take part. Only one loo block, which isn't really enough for the site, which has statics as well as pitches for caravans and tents. Only 2 washing machines and 1 working tumble drier for site. On site shop was small, but had excellent bread every day - no need to order ahead. Friendly staff. Bar/restaurant small, but big plus point was free wi fi there. I would use this site again if we visited Carnac, which is in a beautiful area. Beaches at Carnac Plage were nice, but parking is difficult at all times of day and evening. Nice restaurant at Carnac near the church - open terrace and inside restaurant at hotel, not sure of it's name. Would recommend visiting Camors Adventure Forest - north of Auray - aerial adventure park, well run with English instructors as well as French. My son did whole thing - I chickened out after 8 sections!

Stayed here for 4 nights. Well worth the money (worked about for family of 4 with caravan, awning and electric £20 a night).
Shop with all the usual and informaton room about the local area. Bar which served food eat in or takeaway, pizza, chips etc. Disco area - I say area, it wasn't much bigger than my front room - but the kids enjoyed it. Nightly entertainment but was quiet at midnight.
One paddling pool with fountain. One swimming pool, about 20 metres, and 2 water slides - one loopy and one slide with four lanes that was shorter. Sunbathing area.
Toliet and showers - spotless - and plenty of them. Bring your own loo roll. Dishwashing area and clothes washing area.
Though we are not a member, I believe this site is a Caravan and Camping Club site. Definitely if we are in the Carnac area again, would stay again.
