We stayed here for two nights on our way back to GB and planned to go to Futuroscope. We had some doubts about whether the theme park may be a bit young for our two teenagers so when we saw how lovely the site and lake were, we decided to stay put and relax.
Reception was very efficient, our pitch was spacious, flat and serviced with EHU, water and grey waste facility. The lake is very pretty and there are plenty of activities available. We decided to cycle around the lake and took a picnic, expecting to be out all day - it took us about 20 minutes as it is very flat. Would suit those looking for a slower ride or a pleasant walk.
The bird sanctuary was very peaceful and the beach and swimming good. The shop was fairly well stocked and seemed to be open all day, we didn't eat in the bar so cannot comment on the good although the menu seemed very basic.
Facilities were very good although a few more toilets would be good - there always seemed to be a queue.
Unlikely that we would be passing this way again but would definitely recommend the site to anyone coming to the area.

What a wonderful relaxing week my family and I had. Upon our arrival (which was a little late in the day) we were met with helpful staff at the reception who quickly got us booked in and directed to our pitch. Most pitches were part shaded and all had water, electric and drainage that I could see.
The toilet / shower block was always kept clean although unisex(which was strange at first) no matter what part of the day. Onsite there is also a well equipped shop (with fresh bread delivered regularly) and cafe/take away which overlooked the beach on the lake.
The site is having a swimming pool built which should be finished in July but we didn't really miss it as we could use the lake which was literally a stones throw away from our pitch. Theres a free TV, WiFi room, gym, tennis courts and table tennis which is available to all campers which is a nice touch.
We all enjoyed ourselves and would certainly return to this site.

We had a wonderful 5 days here with our 16-year-old son. Sanitary block good and powered by solar energy. Nice sized pitches with water close by and hookups.
Very impressed with the number of activities you can do without paying extra. For example, every morning you could take a kayak/canoe or pedalo out on the lake between 10.00 and 12.00. There is also a well-equipped gym, tennis courts and table tennis among other sports. All you need to get rackets and balls is to give your pitch number to reception. For younger children there's a kids' club and playground.
There were also optional activities with sometimes a small charge, such as a cycle trip to nearby Chateau de Dissay (well worth a vist, guided tour in French with a quaintly translated booklet in English covering the same ground).
There are barbecues on the site and picnic tables scattered around the lake, and a bar which serves reasonably priced pizza, grills and chips. We would definitely come back.

Campsite on the St Cyr lake with access to man made beach with safe swimming area and pedalos. Very popular cafe/restaurant by the beach. Although site is somewhat isolated from local villages there is an adequately supplied shop next to cafe for necessities.
Well laid out site with plenty of open space. Pitch had electric and fresh water.
Modern, clean unisex toilet blocks. Plenty of hot water.
Gym, Kids Club and TV room with WiFi are all freely available to campers.
Ideal base for visiting local attractions at Poitiers and the theme park at Futuroscope.
A few GB plates around.
