Stayed on a sunny July weekend. Stayed in the Orchard field which is great but slopes a little so if you are camping you might want to get there early to pick the better pitches. The staff and owner were really friendly. Fires are allowed in the fire pits that you can hire for £5 a day. Firewood is also available for £5 which will get you though an evening.

The bottom lake is great for fishing and is also very popular for swimming and inflatables. Probably best avoided on busy summer days if you are looking for a quiet fishing spot. We caught lots with my 10 year old son catching good sized Carp, but it was packed on the Saturday.

You can walk to Ledbury and there is a footpath that cuts off a corner, but this has been diverted by the farmer so quicker sticking to the roads.

Grounds are immaculate and this is a great site other than the toilets and showers that are too few in number and not very clean. That won't put us off and we will certainly be back

Absolutely beautiful site! A little slope so needed to use our ramps to level the caravan. A very quiet site with lovely walks and plenty of wildlife to look for.

There's a large pond/small lake where you can fish (extra charge) or swim in. The kids loved jumping in and splashing about. The chalets also look beautiful. Not very near anywhere.

Shower/toilet facilities are small and basic, with 2 toilets and I think 1 shower in the ladies. No playground but a big field to play in. I think the nearest shop is approximately 15 mins drive away.

We wanted to relax and you can definitely do this at this site.

I cannot say enough about this place! We like a mixture of vibrant/ hippy/ party type sites and quiet, tranquil ones when we go away - this is definitely the latter. At £21 for 2 adults, EHU and dog it is certainly at the expensive end of what we would pay.

The best attraction here for me has to be the lake on site, in which you can swim. I simply love outdoor swimming so even though it was March I was in there - it must be really amazing in summer.

Toilets were in a portacabin but immaculate and well maintained. Showers are in a barn type building which also houses a huge mill! There is a donkey and some sheep in an adjoining field. Washing up point and drinking water tap are under cover.

We got stuck in the mud but a chap came straight down with his tractor and pulled us out, much appreciated!

Woodside is a lovely site. We couldn't believe how quiet it was for August. When we arrived on the Saturday there were 10-12 other caravans/tents on the lower field, and by Monday only 3 or 4, and as the field is big, there was plenty of space and nobody camped too close to anyone else. The EHU is all at one end of the field, so if you want electric, you're more likely to be closer to other campers. It was peaceful all the time though - no noise after about 10pm, and nothing early morning either.

The lower field does need extra showers (although we didn't have to queue at all, I can imagine it would be quite busy at weekends when the site is fuller). There are other showers near reception on the other side of the lane but I think at least one more for each sex would help on the lower field, especially for families with smaller kids. The owners did tell us that they had tried to build additional showers but have had planning problems.

The lake in the field next to the lower camping field was fantastic. We swam in it every day - it was cold at first, but you soon got used to it. You can fish in it too, and have small boats on it. Good fun. Loads of room for games too, either on that field or on the camping field. There is no kids play area, but that didn't bother our 9 year old.

Ledbury is a couple of miles away. You could walk it, but it would be a bit far and some of the route would be along narrow lanes without footpaths. It's a nice town, with a few pubs, cafes and restaurants. We only ate at the Olive Tree, lovely Italian. Other campers recommended the Prince of Wales, and a couple of locals said the Talbot was good, but we didn't eat at either of them.

Woodside is a good base for visiting lots of different places - the Malverns, loads of National Trust properties, Wye Valley and Forest of Dean aren't too far, or Gloucester, Worcester and Hereford.

We definitely would go back. The owners are lovely - friendly and helpful.

We stayed in our caravan on the bottom field and couldn't believe how quiet it was! We had hook up and shared the field with a maximum of 5 caravans and 6 tents of which we never really saw anyone as the field was massive!

The toilets were a bit hit & miss on being cleaned, there were only 2 ladies toilets and 1 shower in the field we were in which isn't enough as there were queues morning and night.

The lane is very narrow on approach and it's fingers crossed you don't meet anything coming!

The highlight of my stay was going down to feed the fish every evening! They were absolutely huge and ripped slices of bread apart, most entertaining!

The owners are lovely and tell you to make yourself at home and it is that peaceful it's hard not to relax.

We have just returned from four days at this site. It was a wonderful site and beautiful scenery.

The toilet facilities and wash-up area are immaculate as are the grounds of the site.

In the field next to where we camped is a pond and conservation area which is a great place to walk the dogs. There is also another pond and conservation area over the other side of the site near to the log cabins.

Whilst we were there a large group of campers came to stay - they come every year and meet up. They seemed to be having a fabulous time playing games in the middle of the field and sitting around a fire pit on the night.

The staff and all the campers were very friendly.

This is a great site and we will definitely go back.

Arrived on the Sunday of the Whitsun bank holiday, and think we dropped lucky as the weather had improved and most people who had arrived on the Friday had suffered the rain for a couple of days. The owners couldn't be more helpful and accommodating, especially young Ken, who always takes time out for a chat when ever he gets the chance, and is a wealth of stories of the site.

A proper campsite, if you like peace and quiet with stunning views, beautiful scenery and top class facilities. We spent our first night sitting and watching a beautiful sunset, while keeping warm around the camp fire (brazzier and logs supplied by site for small charge).

Would highly recommend to anyone if this sort of site appeals to you. There is no bar or kids play area, but plenty to do for kids with a good sense of imagination in the forest and around the site, with plenty of areas with space to kick a ball.

We will definitely be visiting again and recommending to our friends.

 What a fab site.

The owners/wardend's are very friendly and helpful but don't intrude. The site is very well looked after; the gravel road, hedges and grass all neat and tended.

We also hired a lodge for my wife's parents and this also exceeded expectation.

Siting about 5mins drive from Ledbury you are very close to local amenities but the quiet country lane is very peaceful and the setting/views are very nice. The ponds on the site attract a lot of wildlife. The is no pub in easy walking distance but this is not bad thing. But with a well provided town even the most unprepared should cope (tesco is well stocked but buy your meat from the fantastic local butchers).

They have managed to get everything right apart from one thing. The facilities.

Don't get me wrong they are very clean, quite new and well finished. But 1 WC (2 in the ladies), and only one shower really is not even close to being enough. There are additional faculties on the other side if the road. But on a big site like this even that is not sufficient. They do provide a free fridge and freezer which is a nice touch (perhaps 1 more fridge for busy periods) and the two washing up stations are probably fine most of the year.

We had the site (although lodges were busy) almost to our selves for the week, but from the Friday night we started to have to wait, and that was only 6-8 units.

Please, please enlarge the amount of facilities we'd love to come back. But off our revisit list for now, and I would have loved to have given you a much better rating.

Sorry, but this is going to be yet another boring review. Only because by now (assuming you've read from oldest to newest) you will already know that this is a really well run and fabulous site.

So, I will keep it brief.

If you want a 'party site' with a bar or kids playground etc, keep looking. If however, you treasure old fashioned courtesy and attentive owners who clearly have a passion to provide a quality service. Read on.

This is a lovely, well maintained and wonderfully located site. The owners, family and other's involved in the management of this site, all appear to have read and signed up to the same ethos. The facilities were spotless throughout our stay. Our pitch was spacious, level and came complete with a beautiful view. OK, so we were lucky with the weather and the site was pretty quiet. But it really is a true little gem of a site and well worth a visit.

Also, we went to a nearby pub The Trumpet, for an evening meal, and I am bound to say that was also well worth seeking out. In brief, this site is absolutely spot on, and we will definitely be going again. (The 9/10 score is because the site has only two sets of WC's and showers - not a problem whilst we were there but will be an issue during busy times)

What a lovely site! I almost don't want to write a good review for fear of everybody going and spoiling it!

Our great weekend was probably helped by the fantastic weather, gorgeous sunshine all weekend which meant we just sat and didn't do much.

We only phoned in the morning to see if a pitch was available and the owner was more than helpful. On our arrival we were directed to the camping field, over the road from the lodges where the main site is. The field is large and flat but on a very sight slope. All the electric hook up points are at one end of the field nearest the shower block. There were only a couple of other people there when we arrived and as we didn't require EHU we set up out the way. BBQs are allowed on site as long as you take one of the slabs provided to out it on so you don't burn the grass.

There is what seems to be a brand new toilet/shower block which is lovely. Great shower with free hot water and immaculately clean. In the ladies there are two toilets and one shower. This could be problematic if the site is busy however there was a sign saying there were additional toilets and showers in the other block. I'm not sure what these were like as I had no need to use them.

Outside the shower block is a pot washing area. Plenty of hot water and again spotlessly clean.

On the site are a number of fishing lakes where I believe you can fish for a small fee. You can wander and walk around these lakes which is very pleasant and the site is also on the edge of a conservation area that you can also walk around.

We walked into Ledbury which is only a couple of miles away. As short walk down the lane and you pick up a footpath which takes you straight into the town. Make sure you take the right path when you get to the town or you will end up walking around a not so picturesque industrial estate!

There are a number of pubs and shops in Ledbury and the town is very pleasant.

We paid £17 a night which included an additional fee for our two dogs. I thought this was more than reasonable.

Loved this site. Will certainly be back!
