Myself and some friends of mine stayed here bank Holiday weekend and we had a fantastic time!
The Facilities are limited, but we knew that before arriving, as it was mentioned in the description. There is a shower, but its a bit of a walk. Not a problem for me though
The atmosphere was brilliant. Every camper made the effect to talk to one another and it was hard to find groups not having a good time. It wonderful to watch and take part in what can only be described as old fashion fun, I. E kite flying (epic Kite flying), Cricket, football etc.
We witness, the most stunning sunsets you will ever see in this country.
The site was a lovely 30 minute walk from Cemaes, or a 5 minute drive, The town had plenty of pub and places to eat, including the best fish and chips I've had in a long time.
The owner were friendly, chatty and very helpful.
Extremely goof value for money, I WILL be returning in the future, simply fantastic way to spend a long weekend

We stayed for a couple of nights during some horrendous weather. We were one of about 3 or 4 tents that survived the night. The owner does also have a couple of fields in a sheltered location near the farmhouse.
The site is very basic and I mean basic. There isn't even running water in any of the fields. It does however have fantastic views and you can have fires, the owner sells wood or you are welcome to bring your own.
The site is virtually on the coast path and very close 5 mins walk to the beach.
The facilities consist of portaloos in the fields with a further couple of loos and showers next to the farmhouse. The showers were electric and temperamental due to low water pressure.
The site when we arrived(during good weather) had a nice laid back feel and the setup appeared to be pitch up where you like with the owner coming round to collect the money each morning. We paid £20 for two of us for 2 nights, which may not seem a lot but considering we paid £7 the night before and £10 the night after for sites with working facilities and mowed level pitches, it's a bit steep.
The owner however is really nice and helpful and operates the site under the 28 day rule which means he only opens bank holiday weekends and during August so do ring ahead.
Cemaes is a 15 minute walk away with pubs, cafes, a chip shop (closes early though 8. 30), several gifty type shops and a small supermarket.
I would think this site great for a couple of nights away or maybe a longer stay during good weather but the lack of facilities would make it a bit of a struggle for a full week or two week family holiday.

My three youngest, my partner and myself had a lovely short stay here, it was our first attempt at camping and we are now hooked.
The site is very basic (portaloos and shower) and it catches the wind, but there are amazing views and it is perfectly situated for the beaches, the nearest of which being about a ten minute walk (with a toddler) along
Lovely quiet roads. We had the beach to ourselves for most of one afternoon.
Excellent location for walks along the coastal path too.
There are a few small shops, pubs and cafes in nearby Cemaes Bay, which is about a 20 minute walk away.
I would highly recommend a visit to the vineyard for wine tasting, the owner was very helpful and friendly.
We returned home with a new member of the family too a black and white kitten we have named Cemaes in memory of our lovely camping holiday, we cant wait to go back, shame its only open in August.

After a couple of e-mails we booked this site with the intention of staying two nights. Perhaps somewhat naively we had a vision of camping somewhere reasonably close to the vines and enjoying the general ambience.
Driving along the lane I noticed a large very sloping, very exposed field with portaloos, and hoped that it wasn't the camping field due to the very high winds that evening. We arrived at the vineyard, went to reception and were given directions by a very friendly man to the camping area. The field we had just passed.
The wind was screaming and cyclonic and the first area of field was very uneven. We don't have a 4x4 so the rest of the camping areas were inaccessible to us. The weather was so bad we could not pitch our Coleman tent, so tried instead with the pop-up. After 5 minutes it was lifted and despite further attempts we eventually had to give up. This was a great shame, because even through the lashing down rain the views were amazing.
Once home we e-mailed the owner to explain our disappearance and got a reply saying that in bad weather he offers campers the opportunity to stay in a field down near the vineyard. We were incredibly disappointed.
So we are unable to comment on the facilities, except to say the portaloos were rather smelly. The cream teas, the wine-tasting and the showers will have to wait for this year's wild-camping venture. For yes, we do intend to return and give this site another go. I think we were incredibly unlucky with the weather conditions

Arrived Thursday before the good friday, it was very windy and at first I thought what has he brought me too? What a wonderful 3 days we had. Tom who owns this property is a retired and living his dream. He is so laid back and friendly with a very much 'whatever' attitude. We were there when it was cold and not busy so we had the run of the place. We stayed in his garden rather than the top field as it was so windy.
There are some fantastic walks, cliff walks and to the town Caemes. Not much to do really but walk, cycle and sight see. Nothing for children! but good for adults and dogs. Did not see the winery or taste the cream teas, the shower block was still being finished and the bunk barn was nearly complete. There was lots of jobs nearly completed but very relaxed and Tom was very helpful.
He apparently also has a music festival on the top field every year which is proving to be quite popular. His Dog Charlie is the best a 12 week pup that ruled the roost and ran Tom ragged as he constantly climbed into our van and ran off with nickable things.
Would definitely go again. Maybe Tom would have a bit more done! he charged us £10 a night which was ok.

Gorgeous location, it's a field on a hill on the coast of an island so it's a bit breezy but that just helped to fan our campfire. It turns out that firewood is not easy to come by in Anglesey so if you're going with the intention of an evening round a bonfire it is worth picking some up on your way over to the island. The closest we found firewood for sale was in Llanfachraeth (about 10 miles from the site).
Plenty of portaloos in the field, and a flushable toilet and free, hot showers within a two minute walk. All very relaxed.
The vineyard itself is worth a visit - the local wine is very drinkable.

We have just returned from a 4 day visit to this fantastic campsite. There are five of us, two adults, two children and our little dog and we all had a wonderful time. This site is basically three or four fields owned by the vineyard proprietors, ideally placed a stone or two's throw from the sea. Most of the land does slope though but there are a few even pitches.
The nearest cove is very pretty (even with the view of the power station on the horizon) and ideal for children and four legged friends :) we recieved a warm welcome from the owner and the price is very resonable at £15 per night for all of us.
The nearby village of Cemaes is like stepping back in time. Its beautiful and unspoilt with a few shops including a chemist, off license, award winning chipshop and pretty harbour pub.
The amenities are very basic with the showers housed in what can only be discribed as a tin roofed hut down by vineyard/reception area and no power points for hairdryers but this was not an issue to us at all as the setting is so peaceful and tranquil. There are however portaloos in the fields in addition to the toilets by the vineyard.
This is very basic rural camping but as the owner is only allowed to open for 28 days a year he is very laid back and does allow fires on the ground. The vineyard does cream teas and free wine tasting too.
The Llanbadrig Church along the road is a must to visit as its so stunning in location and build. It takes your breath away due to its location on the cliffs with the views down to the sea. We had a marvelous time here and would urge anyone to get back to basics and give it a try. As a footnote I would add that our children normally argue and bicker as siblings often do but hardly had one cross word on this trip and informed us frequently how much they loved the nearby beaches and surroundings.Blimey!

Itching to try out my new tent (Hi Gear Atakama 5) and remembering the pleasurable holidays I had on Anglesey as a boy, I wanted to try a coastal campsite (despite living in Blackpool) and settled on Llanbadrig Vineyard Campsite.
Speaking to the owners, I get the impression that the camping side of things is very much a sideline, with most efforts being put into running the vineyard/winery.
With this in mind, the basic nature of the facilities is understandable. There were 2 toilet blocks, on the field, consisting of 2 chemical toilets, in fibreglass tardis`s, screened by pallets assembled edge on, with green netting wrapped round them to help them blend (with moderate sucess) The chemical toilets, which to be diplomatic, were more for the adventurous, than for the desperate, did whiff a little, but were marginally better than exposing yourself to public view. Water is supplied by several standpipes dotted about the field.
There were 3 showers situated in the outbuildings of the wine shop. Which is a five minute walk from the camping field, down the narrow country lane. Taking pound coins they were, again diplomatically, adequate.
Location wise, like the rest of Anglesey, is absolutely gorgeous when the weather is good. A couple of pictures show what greeted me when I woke on the saturday morning. (In the tent review section of this site - under Hi Gear Atakama 5)
However, in bad weather, this is a very exposed site,(As I found out on my 2nd day there) Unless you are absolutely confident of your tent`s bad weather capabilities, or absolutely confident that a storm won`t engulf you, Give it a miss, and go for a more sheltered spot.
If you are willing, capable, or just plain foolhard-but-lucky, the rewards will come in the form of stunning views, with a blue sea, and sandy bays, with rocky outcrops, plus the aforementioned 5th century church nearby.
For me, the gem of this site is the proximity to Cemaes Bay. A biscuit tin cute town reminiscent of Cornish fishing villages, and in the right weather, has the same kind of feel. Wandering down the narrow streets to the harbour on a warm summer evening is something everyone should do.
This is a site better suited to adults, and although I witnessed a family entertaining themselves with a wind buggy (sans sail), there`s is precious little else for kids other than fishing.
In short, the owners write up stating that it is as close to wild camping as you can get, is not too wide of the mark.
They charged me £5.00 pppn, so you pays your money, you takes your choice.

I was attracted to this campsite by the abiity to have a campfire.
The site really does have spectacular views over the bay, and for me this is priceless. You just have to sit so that you don't see the power station!
We had the worst weather ever seen in August I think, so much so that we were unable to have our campfire the first evening. We were able to make up for it on our second evening.
There were portoloos in the camping field, and as previousy stated, they were well used and were quite smelly. However, we did see that they were serviced on the morning of our departure so I guess it was just bad timing. The showers and plumbed facilities were a 5 minute walk from the camping field. I believe there were three showers, one was attached to the farmhouse and the others were in out buildings. The showers were perfectly adequate and FREE. There was definitely no frills.
There is a lovely coastal walk from the site into the local village. Great views out to sea and lovely to walk through the countryside. The village had a couple of pubs, a small supermarket (Spar type) and a fish and chip shop. What more can you need!
We used this as a base and visited other areas on Anglesey, we even went to the local motorsports track and watched some motorbike racing
In conclusion, this site is very basic and very relaxed, pitch where you want, have your campfire where you want, dogs roaming free. Its like camping used to be. The views are spectacular but the site is exposed and can be windy. I would suggest that this site is for the hardened camper who likes to rough it a bit.
I loved it and will be back

WE have only been camping a couple of times and it was the 'vineyard' part that first attracted us to this camp site! We have 3 dogs/assorted kids/love camp fires so sometimes its a bit difficult to find a suitable place to camp. We rang to book and the owner was very friendly and helpful. The price was £4.00 per night (adults) £2.00 per child- dogs free! You pay at the vineyard ( which is after the camp site) and can purchase tea/coffee/cream teas/plough mans lunches and of course wine if required. The approach to the site is via a single track road with a couple of passing places. The village (Cemaes) with all amenities is a 10 minute walk away (most things closed at 2pm Sunday) and a larger town with supermarket etc is a 10 minute drive the opposite way. We found a lovely pub called The Douglas just on the main road after the power station and had a gorgeous Sunday lunch and a very warm welcome. The site is on a hill with lovely views of the bay and sea. It is a bit exposed and there is a view of the nuclear power station to the left but the rest of the view and sunset made up for this. There are two camping fields with a couple of water taps and uneven bits for tents only. There are two very well used 'porta loo's' on the field and 1 shower/toilet just down the road at the vineyard shop. The shop is open 12pm-6pm but you can not use the shower when the shop is open. The owners are planning to build another shower in an outbuilding. The site is a short walk from the Cemaes beach to your left and a wonderful cliff top walk to the right with hidden coves/sea birds/flowers and a view of Ireland on a clear day. There is a 5th century church a few minutes away where a film called 'Half light' staring Demi Moor was filmed (no- I don't know anyone who has seen it either!). Walk through the churchyard and over the wall to see the breathtaking coastline! We were camping with some friends and set up 2 tents/2 gazebos/wind brakes and a camp fire. There were a mix of families/couples and groups but it wasn't too noisy and there was no trouble and not too much noise. Kids played together/dogs ran about/camp fires were roaring/BBQ's were aglow. Friday and Saturday were lovely but we had to pack up on Sunday as the wind was too strong and everything blew away! If you want a basic campsite with lovely views and no strict rules then this is the one for you. I think it is a newish campsite which will get very busy once word gets around. More toilets and showers are needed and they ought to sell wood for fires as we ran out too soon! We would definitely be going back in the summer. What friendly people the Welsh are!
