We came to stay the week after Christmas in the Ger - unlike fancy 'yurt' camping this is basic - just the ger, single beds with mattresses, table chairs and the wonderful wood burning stove.
Now for us this was fantastic! prices we could afford and simplicity. It was a very cold week, but that fire kept us warm all night. The best thing about this site is Bill - he owns the farm and is the most fantastic character, storyteller and area guide. We spent most of our evenings hearing wonderful stories of the area and Bill's life etc - we also made some music. I can't wait to take my kids back in the Summer to meet Bill and enjoy the orchard and camp.
The loo's are a way from the Ger and on a cold night that is an issue, the shower was also not warm enough in the artic conditions - but not many people are daft enough to camp at minus 6C.
Please try this campsite - you will not be dissapointed

This is a rare gem of a campsite that we were lucky enough to visit for 4 days. We had an excellent spot and you also get the use of a picnic bench with a parasol (several across the campsite). As stated before, the toilet and shower may be slightly dated, but they were always clean and working. The pitches are well maintained. Bill is a great host and was always ready to assist any camper whether with something on the campsite or providing some really useful local knowledge.
This combination of a beatiful campsite and a friendly/ helpful host makes it one of those rare gems. And we will be going back soon.

The campsite was a great location and we had a great pitch. We had our own tap and with the split levels, we were in our own little oasis. The ground was very level and good for getting the tent pegs in! The toilet and showers were very basic. If they could be updated, it would absolutely perfect. Bill was a great host and could not do enough to make our stay on a very wet bank holiday as perfect as possible.

A most memorable experience . Bill accommodated us even though our tent was slightly on the large side! Facilities were basic but the hospitality excelled any expectations. The surrounding gardens, wildlife, meadows were truly something special.O ur young daughter did not want to leave. The route through the Black Mountains to Hay on Wye suggested by Bill was incredible. Thank you Bill See you soon!

This small site is ideally placed within walking distance of 5 pubs. The camping area is small, but is surrounded by beautiful meadows and gardens, painstakingly looked after by Bill, the owner of the site. Although facilities are basic by some sites standards, the level of care and consideration from Bill far outstrips any limitations to luxury. Ideal for walkers, the site can only accommodate small tents (no 6 berth mansions I'm afraid), and no children. We stayed for 5 days, and can't wait to go back. A lovely site run by an even lovelier man.
