We have been storing our van at gopsall hall for nearly a year and thought it about time to use the facilities there. So we had a weekend there in june with a group of friends, what a good time we had too.

The site is basic with toilets and electric hook ups,and elsan point, sadly no showers as yet,but we where told they are trying to get them sorted out.

There is a shop now as well in the top corner of the feild selling basic stuff such as bread, milk, sweets, etc. We were also told they are trying to put in a children's play area. All in all for the price we pay £8.00 per night on electric its cheap.Prices are said to go up as he improves the site. We will use it more often now.

My husband, 13 month old son and I have just spent 2 nights at this site and it was wonderful, It was our first time camping with our son and we wanted some where not to far from home in case he did not like it. We will most definitely be going back.

There are only 2 toilets at the moment, and a small shop for milk, bread, etc. even though we only live about half an hour away from the site we felt like we had gone a million miles away, as your surrounded by acres of fields and trees, very relaxing an ideal place for us.

If you have children whom need entertaining with a play area it`s not an ideal site as there is nothing but the toilets and small shop however there is enough space to kick a ball about or play any other games. Every thing we want in a camp site.

Maybe a good idea to take some toilet roll with you as Saturday night the toilet roll ran out, but by Sunday morning there a been a replacement.

If your getting there by following a satnav it`s a little tricky as the satnav tries to take you down the wrong road, so may be a good idea to print a map out, all in all a lovely weekend and the little one loved it, we are planning on going back within the next few weeks

What a fantastic site. Not being familiar with this part of the world at all we needed a little guidance on how to get there. We felt we didn't want to trouble the owner with phone calls asking for directions but we need not have worried Liz the owner didn't seem to mind in the slightest. When we arrived at the site a very warm welcome awaited us and Liz the owner showed us to our pitch. She also proved to be a great help in giving us advice on where to find supermarkets and local places of interest. Leaflets are also available in the toilet block.

The field had lovely views and plenty of electric hookups. There is a place to empty chemical toilets, toilet facilities are basic but very clean. You really need shower facilities in your unit. There's lots to see in the area and a visit to Twycross zoo is a must. A very memorable holiday.

We booked this site fairly last minute-helpful owners.

The field is lovely and tree lined, although after recent downpours obviously couldn't be mown, so grass a bit on long side.

Facilities fairly basic- just 2 loos and sinks and outside 2 taps and hoses for washing up - note- no hot water, no showers. This was fine for us though and meant site was fairly quiet (no 'riff-raff'!)Very reasonable prices too- £10 per night as we have 2 dogs (£1 each).

Lovely walks from the site and as you are off the road no road noise. There is nothing specific for children, but if yours (like ours) are just happy romping around in a field, then they'll be fine!(Although the owner did ask what ages they were as I don't think they want rowdy types or balls being kicked around tents!) Tesco express in measham is 5 minutes in the car and a good chip shop there also. For children- jungle Madness in Donisthorpe- great indoor soft play if its wet, also Gillivers Shoes in Moira has lots of wellies!

All in all a cheap, basic, very pretty and quiet site- a definite 'find'.

We spent Easter weekend here with our 2 under 3's - in a large tent with EHU - at a bargain £7 per night.

The owners are really friendly and the pitches spacious - the views are gorgeous and you do really feel like you have spent your trip in the middle of nowhere - really beautiful.

Toilet block a little dated but kept clean with hand wash and loo rolls well stocked, some hot water or showers would have made it perfect.

The area is great, really near to Twycross Zoo, Bosworth Battlefield and steam trains, Conkers - seemed to be lots to do.

Will definitely be returning as there is lots to do and the children loved the freedom of such a small safe site.

A very quiet site. With a few trees and a sloping field.
More suitable for the more mature visitors.
On site facilities. 2 Toilets, Cold water. Drinking Water. Ch/Desp. Waste water wash. Ample elec points. Ample Fire extinguishers. Fire Bell/assembly point. Recycle points, paper, cardboard, plastic, and Glass no cans.

The site owner prefers tourers to place their homes vertical, facing the entrance tow side or rear and not horizontal,

Gopsall Hall Farm is set away from the main roads. The track either side of the entrance and beyond is very bumpy but The only traffic that will pass the site is the odd Tractor and maybe the farms own vehicles or their visitors. The track is singular in width but with passing places

There are no local shops or Public Houses but Meacham, approx 3 miles away have a Tescos Express, Take aways and other smaller shops. The nearest Public House is in Congerstone approx 2 miles. Petrol Stations are in Meacham and Junction 11 M42.

Places to visit. The Mushroom Basket, Lower Fields Farm Normanton Rd Packington. There are a lot of exotic mushrooms on display for you to buy. They also sell locally produced meats, Free-range eggs and are hoping in the near future to open a Farm shop.
In High St, Packington approx 0.5 mile from the Bull and Lion pub is a friendly Aladdin's cave, a small shop which sells almost everything.

The pubs recommended by us are.
The Belper Arms in Newton Burgoland, friendly atmosphere good beers and splendid food. Children's play area and out door seating. They say its the oldest pub in Leicestershire with an amazing ghost story to tell.

Bird in the Hand in Austrey is a delightful pleasant place. Good food and beers with plenty of out door seating.

Nearby is Twycross Zoo.
Around and about. Shacklestone Railway. Conkers.
Discovery Park and in Tamworth, Drayton Manor is worth a visit.

Stopped here on a very wet weekend in february. John the owner was very helpful because the ground was very wet [had to pull us out with his tractor].
Drive very bumpy but worth it, site would be very pretty in the summer. We will be back.

Well what can I say "what a find" a lovely small site, clean, well kept, the site has electric, 2 toilets, lots of bins, site is keen on recycling your rubbish.there where three vans and a tent with us and at £6.50 a night (£6.00 tents extra £1.50 awning)its a good cheap site. The site is about a mile into farmers land of the main road. Don't be put of by this just make sure you can reverse your van as if you meet another van coming the other way one of you has to back up to a pulling place.
Owners are very pleasant and do regular checks on toilets and site.
this site is for the more well equipped caravan.bring food with you as you need your car to get to shops and pubs nearby.
will be using this site a lot more in the future its now one of our favourite sites.
Please also note the owner does not enjoy having rowdy children on this site so its more suited to younger family's(under 5s) and the more mature persons. Sites a little small for football!
as I have said excellent site.a small site shop would be good for farm produce, I will be going back with my wife and two children(2yrs and 8mths) soon
