Camped in the main field and there was loads of room for the kids to run about.
We were interested in staying in the Glen but Cars were seemed to be allowed in, which surprised me. Also, dogs were running free, which scared my young kids.
The climbing walls and outdoor activities were great and the kids loved them.
The staff on site were very active and helpful, tidying up, directing us to the firewood supply.

We enjoyed our stay on this well kept site. The warden was relaxed and welcoming and very helpful.
We didn't not use the facilities but everything did look clean and our friends seemed happy using the them.
Close to the attractions of the Cotswolds and close by to Bourton on the water.
Whilst the Warden told me over the phone that road noise was not really an issue, it can definitely be heard even on the furthest field, as we were in a caravan we did not hear it at night, but during the day you would notice the trucks going by.
The most disappointing thing was the bulldozer or other heavy machinery at 6:45 am on a Saturday morning! Not much of a lie in. There were industrial units on site.

Had a lovely, long weekend at this site.
Turned up on Thursday afternoon for 3 nights, and were allowed to pitch where we liked. We chose The Glade (no EHU) as further away from the road and were the only unit in the field that night. Marvellous.
Shower/toilet block spotless, always plenty of free hot water and no queues, though could imagine this would not be the case on a busy weekend.
A few large groups of young couples, but not too much noise after about 10pm.
Our 3 year old was in his element, finding dens in the trees and running around looking at towbars.
We used the site as a base to walk further south in the Cotswolds so didn't explore the immediate area, but an excellent base to visit the well known villages of Burford, Bibury and Bourton.
We will be coming back to this site.

Visited here as a base for cycling in the Cotswolds. Very well located for this, with a number of rides right out of the campsite, with Bourton-on-the-Water, Bibury etc within easy access, both on and off road.
Northleach is 2 miles away, and has 3 pubs, and an excellent butcher who was very friendly and knowledgeable on places to visit and pubs serving good real ale in the area.
The campsite itself is very well kept and managed, with the toilets and showers scrupulously clean (although we were there mid week when it was quiet, so can't comment on peak weekend conditions).
There are a number of separate areas on the campsite, offering a different 'feel' rather than one large space which was really nice.
Owners/managers very helpful and accommodating, fetching wireless access codes from the climbing centre so we could keep in touch with our youngest daughter who was in France for the first time away without us.
A small note about this, we initially chose this site as it is listed as having 'internet'. This is in fact just a wireless modem in the climbing centre, so you can only pick up a signal in close proximity to this, nowhere else around the site. The owner was however most accommodating and said if we needed internet access, we could use the pc in the centre.

We have just returned from a 4 night camping trip to Far Peak and we are all still buzzing!
We arrived on the Tuesday of half term and I thought it would be a lot busier than it was (although, from talking to others I know it was rammed over the bank holiday weekend).
The site is large and open, and I would describe it as having 4 separate camping areas.
One, called the glade was holding a meet when we arrived and had a toilet / shower / washing up block and there was another block in the other half of the site. Both had a washing up area with 2 sinks, 3 hand washing basins, 3 showers and 4 toilets (or there abouts!). Both blocks were ‘outside’ with gaps above and under the doors to the outside. This meant that they did not smell at all!
They were cleaned a couple of times a day and always decent to use. Showers were hot and didn’t have one of those annoying buttons to keep pushing in for water.
With the lowish numbers there, we did have to wait for washing up facilities a few times and I would imagine that in busy periods it would be a long wait to get a shower or use the toilet too. For that reason, I do think these facilities need expanding and improving.
On site was a low ropes course, archery, tree climbing and a climbing wall. The low ropes course was good but had to be supervised by an adult. It really didn’t warrant it and my kids were a bit disappointed that they couldn’t go on it when I wasn’t around! I think they would have liked a play area, but I don’t think it was needed. The site was such that people made friends, chatted and children played together. With a play area, they would perhaps neglected the ball games, hide and seek and various other childhood classics they entertained themselves with with new found friends.
Dogs were allowed on site and almost all dog owners were thoughtful towards other users.
There were electric points and water points with fire buckets – none of which we had any issue with. Fire pits were available to use and a huge pile of branches to burn.
The Climbing centre was brilliant and my children enjoyed an hour and a half instructed climbing session for just £10! The enthusiasm of the guys running the centre was great – you could tell they passionately enjoyed what they were doing and wanted everyone visiting the site and the climbing centre to have a holiday!
The café in the climbing centre had crisps, chocolate, cold drinks and hot. It also sold ice lollys, oil, milk and bacon.
Everything about the site felt ‘right’. They weren’t closing the loos at mid morning to clean like many sites, they weren’t insistent that you arrive and leave at exactly the top of the hour. If they were instructing in the centre, you could help yourself in the café and pop your money in the honesty pot. Because, they recognised that adults can make themselves a cup of tea safely
The area itself was beautiful with lovely country lanes to run on, or walk through the fields to nearby Northleach.
There was a busy main road to one side of the site, but it didn’t bother me…
This has been one of the most enjoyable camping trips we have had. I felt relaxed and comfortable and that my kids were safe exploring the site.
Staff were friendly and helpful and passionate that you had a holiday rather than just a camping trip.
I recognise that perhaps if the site had been busier it might not have been as great, but, I can only judge by my experience at the time and it was fab. We are going to go back in the summer hols!

We are just back from a great 4 days at Far peak Campsite. Our group consisted of 2 families both with 2 young children (7 and 4).
On arrival we were given the choice of 3 different fields - one quite close to the main road which was a little noisy, a field with various electric hook ups and the huge general camping field. There is also a 'Glade' area that is available but not to cars but as the approach was a little muddy we dismissed this one.
We decided on the large camping field and were amazed by the space. There were only a few other campers which was surprising as it was Spring Bank week and we had lots of pitches to choose from. The main field is a large bowl with a few dips but ultimately you should not struggle to get a level pitch.
The campsite is really good and we would definitely visit again. It is a real back to basics with no frills of shops or playgrounds.
The weather was great and the kids just played football, went on their bikes and made new friends.
The site hire fire pits out for £10 for your stay and there are plenty of woods for the kids to hunt for fire wood which they loved.
On the toilets and showers front these are individual rooms that open directly outside. They were very clean with plenty of hot water so don't let the basic nature put you off, although not sure there are enough if the site was busy.
Overall we would definitely return and recommend to anyone.
Away from the site we visited Cotswold farm Park which was really good - it is linked to Adam from Countryfiles farm. We also went to the gorgeous Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold. The village of Northleach about a mile from the site has a couple of shops, a decent takeaway and a couple of pubs. The Wheatsheaf has a great beer garden.

Initially we were put off by the road noise, but hardly noticed it after the first night. That's the only negative. Very helpful site manager. We had problems with our new awning and they were straight in to help us put it up! Climbing wall session and staff were fab. Low ropes course was great too. Toilets and showers were fine, good hot water and cleaned regularly. You can rent fire bowls too so what more do you need?! Teddy bears picnic and bung hunt were nice touches too.

We visited as a group of 3 - two tents and a folding camper. We had children aged between 5 and 9 and one dog. The weather was amazingly hot!
Toilets and showers - basic - just a row of rooms. Very little privacy from next door noise wise. No heating - open to the elements. However, spotlessly clean, and hot water at all times. Not push button showers.
Sinks - Open to outdoors, no private cubicles. Same for washing up. But, hot water and clean.
There were two amenity blocks - my comments only refer to ours, but the other one actually looked nicer.
Noise - the area we pitched in was very close to the road. It was noticeable but not annoying in the day and evening, but did disturb us slightly as we drifted off, although it didn't prevent us from doing so. Other fields (non-EHU) were much further from road and probably quieter.
Camping huts - saw these from a distance. No electric in them but apparently plans for solar panels soon. My sister spoke to residents who said it was a squish with 2 adults and 2 children. They were as far from the road as could be.
Space - plenty of space to pitch. We had EHU so had to pitch in a particular area, but if you didn't need that you could have had masses of space. No extra charge for our gazebos (used in place of tent awnings).
Climbing centre - amazing time had by kids there. Staff very amenable to us using their wifi to watch the snooker in return for the purchase of coffee and ice-lollies. Low-ropes course is part of the climbing centre, and should only be acessed by children wearing hard-hats under supervision.
EHU - tripped a few times. There were lots of extensions coming off the bollard we were on. However, it didn't cause any major problems and I'm sure on any other weekend it would have been fine, but a BH weekend meant lots of extra bookings.
Stuff for the kids to do - nothing on site other than the climbing centre and low ropes. However, ours had a great time playing ball games and making dens in the trees.
Campfires - controlled fires were permitted in BBQs and firepits (available for hire)
Staff - amazingly friendly and helpful (hi Charlie!). Lent our friends an extension when they didn't have the right EHU to connect to their new camper.
Dogs - no roaming dogs (fantastic), but lots of happy dogs tethered or being walked.
Location - lots to do in Bourton on the Water. Easy site to find, close to main roads.
Site was clean and tidy and excellent value for money. We would definitely return.
Owners - please please please put in a basic playground and EHU further from the road to make your site perfect.

We've just returned from a lovely weekend at Far Peak. We were quite a large group - five familes with nine under-5s - and the site was really well suited to family camping.
As other reviews have said there's loads of space - we went in mid-August on a sunny weekend and were able to space our tents out around the field; there were still 2-3 entire fields that were practically empty which meant lots of space to run around and play.
With so much space the lack of a playground wasn't an issue - a couple of footballs and some scooters and the children were happy running around for hours.
The site supervisor wandered round at regular intervals and collected payment from us at our tents on the second morning but apart from that we were left to our own devices.
Toilets and showers were excellent - lots of hot water and cleaned at least twice a day, and we never had to wait. There were also plenty of cold water taps around the fields to re-fill water carriers etc. Pitches were reasonably flat (some slight inclines at the end of the larger fields) and the grass was recently mown and access for cars is good.
There was a bit of road noise from the A429 but nothing too intrusive. If it's really a problem there's a smaller field away from the main site which is further from the road and would be a bit quieter.
There were a couple of larger groups camping which meant there was some noise in the evening - no radios or anything like that, just people talking and laughing around a BBQ (our group included!) - but it's perhaps worth considering if you're long-distance walkers looking for an early night!
The noise from the industrial units wasn't intrusive - with toddlers on board we were up at the crack of dawn anyway - and by midnight the only thing you could hear were the hooting of owls and the occasional car passing by.
We chose the weekend of a meteor shower to visit and were lucky to have clear skies: the lack of light pollution meant we had a great view of the shooting stars so we stayed outside into the small hours watching them.
We walked into Northleach along a bridle path - it's just over 1. 5 miles and with a 4 y/old it took about 45 mins but that was with plenty of stops to look at butterflies and flowers! The path would have been just about accessible with a pushchair, although after rain it would be a challenge as some sections would get pretty muddy.
Northleach itself has a great butchers - I stocked up on sausages and bacon for breakfast - plus a nice wine bar, a bakery, a post office, a pharmacy and a convenience shop (so enough to pick up essentials if you run out).
We also visited the Mechanical Music Museum, lots of old-style self-playing pianos and barrel organs which was very good if you're interested in that sort of thing!
Overall an excellent site – really well run, good facilities and very friendly. We're all planning another visit towards the end of the summer to explore a bit more around the area.

Very pleasant, fairly basic site with a nice, friendly atmosphere. We stayed for just a weekend to walk the Cotswold Hills and this site made the perfect base.
The nearby town of Northleach, which is a 25 minute walk away, is 'Cotswold pretty' but the only decent place to eat is a very expensive restaurant - the pub food was pretty dire.
Back to the site itself, the facilities were clean and adequate although it is rather odd having the personal wash basins in an open, albeit covered, area. The manager welcomed us as we drove on to the site and invited us to choose a space wherever we wished - no marked out pitches, very relaxed.
Despite being here on one of the very few sunny weekends of the summer (so far) the site still had plenty of space.
No children's playground, no shop on site, no club house, no pool. Just grassy fields surrounded by trees and fields, just right for us.
Slight downside is that there is a main road close by. It's out of sight but there is some traffic noise.
