Me and a group of friends stopped here after a multi day trip down the wye on canoes, the new shower block was fantastic although strange that it closed for 5 hours from 11am for cleaning, the owner was a bit off with us for wanting to use the facilities 15 minutes before they were due to shut as she had decided to start the lengthy cleaning process early (which involved a trip to hereford at 11!) also even though there were people already on the site when we checked in she had to physically turn the showers on. Strange.
We were made to feel unwelcome on the site even though the site was empty apart from a group of other canoeists and a couple over in the corner. We were very quiet, spending most of the night in the pub which did fantastic food after the pub we were in bed pretty much straight away, handy campsite for canoeing but I will be avoiding it in future.

Clean and tidy site right next to a main road, but very little traffic. Staff were friendly and happy to chat. Was there over bank holiday and although it was busy it wasn't over crowded.
Bathrooms were nice and clean, hot power showers were fantastic. Though it seemed a bit odd that they shut the bathrooms for about 3 hours in the afternoon to clean, but we were out and about during the day so no big really.
Didn't get a chance to sample the pub (a bit too busy coz of bank holiday) we'll have to try it next time.

Outstanding food. Toilets and showers very clean. Staff ever so helpful. A very busy site at weekends. Best facilities on the River Wye. Power showers nice and hot, ideal after canoeing
Breakfast is a must. The quality of food served at the boat, which has had a change of owners, is up there with that of London restaurants and the mouth watering tasting steak my wife had, was the best that she had ever eaten.
The bars and restaurant were packed with locals and everybody I spoke to had nothing but compliments for the food and facilities on the campsite

Great little site for canoeing on the Wye.
Tents only - we managed to take our camper onto the field, but only because we'd booked and the owner hadn't told us it was tents only. Check first.
The facilities were basic - two tiny rooms by the pub, with a toilet & shower in each, but there was a brand new block next to the field, that just hadn't been opened yet. At the price we paid, we weren't complaining, and the location made it worth while anyway.
Pub is opposite the site, with a lovely little beer garden overlooking a bend in the beautiful river.
In the week, the place is very quiet, but at the weekend, it fills up with large groups who have canoed down river from Brecon or Hay. In fact, there was more than one Stag Party, but everyone was very well behaved, and it was not at all noisy, even after the pub closed. We were even asked to join the group next to us for a drink, which my partner did.
Even if you have no canoe, this is a great spot to stay for visiting Hay-on-Wye, which is a gorgeous little town full of second hand bookshops.

We stayed for a weekend on the site.
It's fairly small with an excellent new shower block. The owner was friendly and helpful, and the site was kept clean and tidyied every day we were there.
There is a pub across the lane from the site which looked good, although I didn't go in.
I would say this campsite is fine, and there is plenty to do in the area and was reasonably priced.
You could even get a cooked breakfast if you wanted.
It was popular with canoeists, the only thing I would say is that it was very loud at night as there were some stag and hen nights and a large group of youths who were drunk and shouting at 2 am, as well as some other louder groups.

This is a great place to stay
We have a large tent which we had no trouble pitching
There are two rooms with a shower which also have wash basins and toilets in them. Plenty of hot water
The pub directly on the field doorstep serves great food
The pound is situated within 100 yards of the river edge so a great place to sit in the evening
Breakfast when we camped was offered at £5 ahead well worth it if you don't want to cook. The breakfast was full English and delicious with plenty of toast and tea and coffee to go with it the kids were even offered hot chocolate
We spent 5 nights there and loved every minute and its the ideal place to go canoeing on the river we intend to return this year for a lovely stay at a lovely place
Carol and her helpers were all very friendly it made it such a pleasure to be there even my husband was able to go fishing in the evening and had a lovely relaxing time

Stopped here after a rewarding trip down the river wye on canoes. The weather was brilliant and the campsite is just over from the pub. The toilets and showers are an out house of the pub. We were the only ones on the site and had the pleasure of watching the local womens tug of war team training whilst we relaxed. The site was cheap, only a few pounds, facilities were welcome after the days on the river, toilet and showers were clean and looked after. There's a petrol station 100 yards down the road where you can buy a few essentials like beer and bbq supplies If I'm in the area I would go back not a problem. Looks like it gets busy on weekends but us being there mid week it was pretty quiet.

I visited this site on September 6th, taking advantage of a fine autumn. The site is a flat field beside the A438 with the pub close by. I did not see any electrical hookups, not that I needed any power beyond a head torch. There might have been a play area in the pub garden.
It was cheap at £5 for a tent and welcoming. The proprietor explained that there was a party of prison officers, and another of soldiers, who had been canoeing along the Wye. It looks as though the main use of this site is for canoeists, but there were also tug of war teams training on the field, all more entertainment. There were two double showers with a toilet which the groups took over for a while, but when I got in they seemed all right. There is a planning application on display for a toilet block, so things can only improve.
The pub had real ale which quickly ran out and was not replaced and the food was rather ordinary pub fare. The regional centre is at Hay on Wye, about 5 miles away, and it has all sorts of pubs and cafes.
During the night there was some traffic noise from the road going past the site.
In all, it's an adequate site if you need one in this area, but next time I shall look again at the Hollybush near Glasbury, which is another campsite with a pub.
