We are just finishing our visit here at North Alves campsite. What a lovely campsite. Been absolutely fabulous for our 4 children ranging from 14-2. Owners are very friendly and will help with whatever they can. Best camping trip we've had. Kids can have bit of freedom and the games room fun. Toilets are clean and showers are amazing! Gladly no queues for them :) Roseisle beach down the road is amazing. Don't want to rave to much about this campsite we will keep it a secret for ourselves ;) see you next year Sam and Lee. Thanks for a lovely site :)

Very relaxing environment. Staff are very friendly and customer focused. Facilities are spotless and showers are very spacious. Would certainly recommend and is great for walkers and golfers.
Beaches are a short drive away. Small shop on site that you can order in your daily papers and stocked with basics like bread milk and eggs. We will definitely return!

My second visit here, it's a good base for exploring the coastline north of Elgin.
The site owner was welcoming and the price (£10 a night) was reasonable.
There is a large field for tents, some parts are sloping but there are enough flat areas. The site has not been busy either of the times I visited.
The toilet blocks could do with a splash of paint but they were clean enough and the showers were hot.
The site is well presented and very quiet (apart from the occasional jet from the nearby airbase).
There are plenty of shops and food places in Elgin (around 4 miles away).
All in all a good place for a relaxing break.

We are regular users of this site for upto 40 days per year as our daughter lives nearby and is the best one in our view out of the 3 options in the area. It is an excellent example of an old style site with clean but basic facilities, quiet location near to glorious beaches and forest walks.
We along with most of the clients who use the site regularly have done so for many years because of the excellent personal service from the owner.
An ideal location for anyone looking for a quiet and pleasant site.
Nearby you have large supermarkets in Elgin and a smaller shopping centre in Forres. Roseisle Forest is about 2 miles away with access to excellent beach. Good eating houses abound if you follow the coastal trail east or west.
If you like fresh bread, pies etc there is a rare independent bakers in Burghead open each day until early afternoon - best to visit as early as possible in morning to get the full selection. Burghead also has a small coop, post office, paper chop, chemist and doctors catering for most basic requirements.

We stayed here for one night in August en route to another site. It was very rural, quiet location, scenery was great and it was lovely and peaceful. We did go for a walk but there was little else to do. It would make a great base though.
Facilities were basic but, the rope swing kept the wee one amused and there was an indoors games room, which although a bit tired, would serve it's purpose on a rainy day.
The owner was helpful and I liked that we could pitch anywhere, toilets were clean, showers hot!

Just got back from a 3night stay here. The site is in a quiet rural location. Arrived to find reception closed and after talking to another camper started to pitch our tent at the top of the sloping tent field.
There are no marked pitches and you can chose where to go. Lovely views from where we pitched our tent of the rolling countryside. Shortly after our arrival the site owner introduced himself and we had a nice chat. Our children were delighted to find a horse tethered in the tent field and a roaming single sheep, very friendly. Both were put in a fenced field for the night so did not disturb us.
Their were two showers in the female block alongside the toilets. Whilst clean it desperately needs updating and was a grim experience particularly as lights are timed to come on only at night so in bad weather it was very dark.
The water was limited and if there too late in the morning was stone cold, too early was boiling hot. Had a decent very welcome shower once. The gents was similar I believe. Hair drier gobbled my 10p and did not work. No separate dish washing facilities so ended up using the laundry which was opened at 10am. Found an old play park surrounded by high nettles with tyre swings our children loved, nettles adding to the excitement! TV (did not work when we were there) and games room very old fashioned and not welcoming so did not use.
Situated near Forres (lovely parks and Time Out Cafe for Breakfast) and Elgin (Supermarket) it was close to towns as well as lovely coastal beaches such as Rose Isle Forest Beach (great sand dunes) and Findhorn (Crown Pub lovely food).
Benromach Distillery at Forres well worth a tour and tasting for only £3 and Speyside walk from Garmouth was lovely. It continously rained us but did not dampen our spirits. We will visit the area again as more to see but will choose a site with better facilities, shame as with a bit of love it would be a first choice.

A lovely quiet site which serves as an ideal base for exploring the Moray coast. Fairly basic facilities but everything that is needed. The toilet blocks look a bit tired now but serve their purpose well. There is a small shop on site but didn't see it open as it was very quiet on site. A mix of statics, tourers and tents and although it is a large site we hardly saw anyone else.
The owner was very pleasant to talk to and once checked in not seen unless requested.
A definite site to return to

A nice site approx 1/2 mile off the A96 at Alves. This is a Caravan & Camping Club Site but non members are welcome.
It is about 10 mins drive to Elgin which has all the usual shops as well as some nice specialist shops, again only 10 mins drive to the villages of Findhorn, Burghead, on the Moray Firth coast, and about 30 mins drive into the Speyside Valley.
As you drive in most of the tourers are in the upper field with a few statics. You have the reception area on the right as you arrive & opposite is the toilet & shower block which although not very modern were always clean. We found the site to be quiet, although some time the Tornado jets from RAF Lossiemouth and the Nimrods from RAF Kinloss fly by but not that much of a problem.
We enjoyed our stay for the week there. A nice & relaxing time in a pleasant area.
