A great little campsite which we stumbled upon in between campsites. We stayed for just two nights, but could easily have stayed longer. The National Trust took over the site last year and plan to rebuild the shower blocks. There is sometimes a wait for the shower, nevertheless, the facilities are spotless. The warden is an extremely helpful and friendly guy. The campsite is curiously located on Ghost hill and the Warden intends finding out the origins of this during the quiet season. There's a play area, loads of space and although there is no pub on the doorstep, (maybe a mile and the prospect of walking up Ghost Hill in the dark, Tenerife is well placed for getting around the Lizard. A reasonably priced Sunday Roast in The Old Inn at Mullion and a cracking breakfast at the cafe at Mullion Cove. We never usually say we'll return, but we would return to Tenerife.

Hard to say about this site. In many ways it seems good, but there are some failings that made staying here (admittedly in poor weather) a bit of a trial. Like showers not delivering hot water for two minutes out of the allotted four (for 20p). Like hand-driers not working. Like shower cubicles with nowhere to put anything, and no mirrors. Like no lighting anywhere at 6:30 a. M. (pitch dark in Oct). The management said 'this is how we inherited the site, we've got plans to improve it over the winter'. Fair enough, but then how do they have the gall to charge £15 a night (with EHU) in October ?

General points: two miles down a lane from Mullion (nearest shops etc), about 25 mins walk to the coast path. We heard no helicopters while we were there, indeed it was very quiet.

A lovely, sloping site with a glimpse of the sea from the top of the site. There are pitches both with and without electric hook-up and here are perfectly adequate toilet & shower facilities. It is handy for accessing the coastal path - about a 10-minute walk from the site. This quiet lane is also perfect for walking the dogs!

The village of Mullion is nearby with a range of shops, including a very good Spar shop and a great Fish & Chip Shop.

We really enjoyed this campsite, despite very basic facilities (but the price reflects this). We were in the top field which was huge and spacious and quiet. Everyone seemed friendly.

We had lots of (quite noisy) children but this wasn't a problem as pitches are widely spaced and only around the edge. Lovely sunsets, although there is a slightly spooky derelict barn behind the field, but this could not be seen at night.

Lots of bright stars and birds, hedges full of blackberries. We enjoyed a campfire every night, in a fire pit off the ground and the warden was friendly and helpful.

Lovely location, though you do need a car to get to the beach with kids. Otherwise beautiful coastal walks are close. Our favourite family beach, Poldhu, takes about 7 minutes in a car.

This pitch is high up and quite windy - we packed up a day early on hearing of an imminent storm as there is not much shelter and we moved to a sheltered site. But with a smaller tent or a caravan and fewer kids, we would have stayed and weathered it.

Altogether an excellent clean and friendly well-run site for a budget family holiday, only let down by 20p showers that are not very user friendly.

I spent a few days here and it is a lovely, peaceful campsite. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Lovely big fields for dogs or children to play and also lots of space and privacy from other tents. There is also a play area which is great for kids.

It is a short walk to the south west coastal path, which will take you on a 5 mile walk to the lizard or a 2 mile walk to mullion, both are beautiful lovely walks.

No noise atol in the night apart from the odd bird. There was the odd glider flying past during the day dropping off parachuters, but as these have no engine their was no noise and the kids loved watching this.

The facilities are basic and there is no shop, which is reflected in the reasonable price, but all very clean. Would definitely go again.

What a pleasant surprise! My better half had found some bad reviews of this site but turned out to be one of the nicest we stayed at during week on coastal path. There was no disruption at all from RAF aircraft during our night so guess it's hit and miss.
The site is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but it's really relaxing and quiet. Not really walking distance to anywhere, but if you're in a car it's actually quite central in The Lizard. The field we stayed in was flat and dry and very large - loads of room for kids to play in middle and not disturb anyone. There's also a play park by the entrance. There are high hedges round fields too so can seek shelter if it got windy. Owner was very friendly and helpful when our tent pole snapped providing some strong tape.
The shower blocks were pretty good and spacious - 20p for 4 mins. No shower curtain though so water went all over floor. There was a mop in each to help dry up, but strange not to just keep water in the shower. Overall - lovely part of the world, bit isolated, decent facilities, friendly and good value at only £10.

Very out of the way site, with superb sea views and surrounded by picturesque countryside.

Should be perfect, but the site happens to be right next to an airfield used for training RAF helicopters. During our stay we were constantly bombarded with noise - some of the aircraft were flying VERY low, just above the field. During the week, we were kept awake by helicopters flying after midnight on three occasions. Once, they did not stop flying until after 1:30am!

A perfect site for aircraft buffs, but no good for anyone liking peace and quiet or with small children.

Facilities are basic, with no on-site shop. Nearest shop is in the village, 2 miles away. OK if you like walking, I suppose.

 A HIDDEN CORNISH GEM!

After purchase of new caravan we were skint, so chose this site.

Me (34), wife (30ish), 3yr old daughter and 11mth old son stayed here for 5 nights - It will be longer next year.

We arrived at 1am after 7hr drive from Wigan.

Never been here before, site recommended to us. £10.00/night (including Awning & Electric!) is an absolute bargain. Was a bit worried what kind of site this budget would get us. To be honest they really are undercharging for what is on offer.

Basically there are 2 very large, fairly level, well presented fields ('Front' field and 'Back' field). Grass nicely cut. VERY large pitches all around the outside of the field, with masses of space in the centre. We flew 2 large kites in the centre of the front field and still had about 50ish meters before we were anywhere near any trees, other units, people, etc.

Shower, Toilet and Washing block in between the 2 fields is a bit 70's and basic, but very clean (20p for 4min shower - don't forget to mop!).

No rubbish (plus good recycling facilities), lovely views (get a pitch close to the tarmac on the front field if you can). Great little kids play area in corner of front field.

Very isolated site, surrounded by farmland (with nearby airfield only flying winch launched gliders) so lovely and quiet at night, but 5-10 min drive to local village. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by both owners and campers. Not cramped, even in peak season. Loads to do in the area. Lovely beaches nearby (Go to Kynance Cove a couple of hours after high tide). Also Stunning cliff top walk within 5 minute walk.

Cheap Sat nav took us right to the site entrance. The road from Mullion is a bit narrow in places, but no problem as hardly any traffic uses the road.

Have been camping or caravanning in various forms for 18 years now, and think this is the perfect family site. We had such a relaxing time here and cannot recommend this enough.

The only thing I would change is to put the price up a bit to include showers hot water! That is really all that there is to comment on.

Keep up the good work Kim & Stewart. See you next year!

PS - I've changed my mind - it's rubbish. Don't go there, you might spoil my next few holidays.

We found this to be a fantastic site. Facilities are simple but clean. It's about a 2 mile walk to the local village and about a twenty minute walk to the nearest pub. The welcome we received was generous and genuine and we were made to feel welcome throughout our stay. The pitches are large and are spaced around the edge of an extremely large field. It represents fantastic value for money and is ideally placed for exploring the Lizard and the gorgeous Kynance Cove.

We visited this site at the beginning of August and what a warm welcome we had from the owner Stewart. Unfortunatly following all the heavy rainfall both fields were very muddy, Stewart could not have been more helpful in helping us to get sorted and would not have charged us if we decided not to stay.

As it happened the sun came out and it got much better within 24 hours, we pitched on the front field. All pitches are around 12x12m and are around the perimeter of the field so the children can play in the middle, there is also a children's play area in the top corner which was a hit with my 2 children aged 3 and 7yrs.
The shower block is in need of updating and costs 20p for 4 mins which didn't really bother us at only £9.50 per night to pitch. There is planning permission for a new shower block so hopefully this will be done in the near future.
Dishwashing costs 10p for hot water or free if you use cold.

The site is quite secluded and has some nice walks around it, you can walk to Mullion cove via the public footpaths but we tended to drive as the children get tired legs!
Parking was easy too and relies on an honesty box to fund it. There are lots of places to explore within easy distance.

If you like just a quiet no frills family friendly site then this is great! we will definitely return again.

Thanks again to Stewart and Kim.
