I must start by saying that the weather was fantastic during out week here.
There is a nice mix of Nationalites here, although the evening entertainment is entirely French. The pitches are reasonably flat and of a good size (ours was initially on the small side but the staff let us have the vacant pitch next to it).
The pools are brilliant, the site is clean, toilet blocks always spotless. The earlier comment about no toilet seats still applies but the site provide covers for the seats and as said always clean. The noise from the entertainment lasted until about 23:00hrs but was never an issue (we were one of the closest pitches to the club as well). The beach was about 10 minutes walk or 2 minutes in car with plenty of parking, and was fantastic. There are a couple of minimarkets within easy walking distance and 10 minutes drive brings you to a small town, with all you could need, the shop on the site is ok for basics. This was by far our best holiday even if the drive is a little far (we sailed to Calais! don't do that). Would highly recommend.

Spent 2 weeks here in early August booked through the Caravan Club's travel service. First point to note is that anyone booking having seen the site in the Club's brochure may expect a serviced pitch - elec, water, waste all on the pitch but shared with a number of other pitches also.
Pitches themselves are spacious 100 sq m but there is a feeling of being hemmed in as there is no space between your neighbour if you are on an area for 2 or 3 campers. Some pitches were little more than grass verges at the side of the road. Lots of static caravans on site also and access to some pitches was a little awkward.
Other reviews have commented on the sanitary blocks. True to say these are kept clean and staff are frequently in attendance. Just really didn't like walking past the gents urinals to get to toilet cubicals and separate areas would be better.
The showers are again clean, but need updating. Noticed another sanitary block on the site with more modern showers and sink basins, so maybe some changes are afoot? No toilet seats though, anywhere on site. Thought this would be ok, but it's not.
Weather was great so the kids had a fab time around the pools, which are this site's best feature. Have to get there quite early though to find a lounger as there aren't many and other campers tend to reserve with towels.
Staff all really helpful. They start the day with a dance around the pool and pool games for the kids, which they love. Had one occasion to complain (as the previous reviewer due to a rowdy group of boys in the pool) and the staff were quick to respond - couldn't fault them.
There's a small shop on site and take-away. Had no need to use these so unable to comment. Did visit the site's bar, which was a bit pricey but fine.
The site is located around a mile from the nearest village, La Griere (2 miles south of La Tranche sur Mer). There's 2 small supermarkets within easy walking distance along with a couple of bars and restaurants. Walk to La Griere(right as you exit the site) and you'll have much more choice.
Fab beach just over the road, about a 10 min walk. Very popular. Free car parking but easy to walk.
Overall, had a good time largely due to the good weather, but disappointed with this site as we felt too crowded on the pitch and didn't think the toilets/showers were good enough, so would not return.

Very disappointed with this site. Large groups of french boys admitted. This resulted in them taking over the swimming pools making it unsafe for children and other users. Rowdy behaviour in the bar well into the early hours of the morning (5 and 6 am!) Lots of static caravans. Pitches are a reasonable size. Limited facilities low season. Occasional English spoken. Sanitary facilities are variable in cleanliness. Nice beaches nearby.

We visited Jard 2 years in a row with friends. We were lucky we had travelled together and booked pitches next to each other because many of the pitches are not single and it helps to be friendly with the neighbours.
We had 5 teenage boys between us (ages 13-16) and they had a great time. Many table tennis tables and good safe nightlife.
Walking distance to a beach but La Terrier is a good surf beach but waves too strong for little children.
There was a little town in walking distance with bars and restraurants. La Tranche is good for shopping and market.

We have just returned from an enjoyable holiday at Du Jard. Swimming Pool excellent for my children aged 11,10 and 6 but was a little too crowded on occasions. Shower blocks clean and the showers hot only downside the toilets have no seats. Bakery good although the shop is limited but not far to the nearest Super U. Our Pitch was near the children's play area which was great in the day but come 10pm it would fill with noisy teenagers until gone midnight. The lovely beach is across the main road and down a residential street. The bar area was ok although the price of drinks and ice-creams were expensive. The area around Du Jard was I felt a little run down but as a base for your holiday I would return again.

We visited this site in July 07 and were generally pleased with the facilities. Pitch size was good, and we had enough privacy. We were at the back of the site and although there was a road in the distance, it caused us no problem. Our only difficulty was lack of shade, but that was more to do with our lack of experience than anything else. The toilet blocks were always clean and unlike others, we had no problem with cold showers. The additional baby bath cubicle was excellent for our 18 month old. The pool was busy and the main pool quite cold. We only used the take away once and the shop was very basic. The bakery was nice though and we had plenty of choice each morning. We were disappointed with how removed we felt from the town, but again that may have been our lack of experience. The nearby beach is lovely and an easy walk or drive from the campsite.

Just returned from a very pleasant stay at this camp site. Prior to our arrival I spoke to the site several times regarding whether our pitch would be next to our friends and whether they hired out fridges etc (they don't) and I always found the staff to be very helpful and their english is far superior to my french! On arrival we had a painless check in and were shown to our double pitch. It has to be said that the ground was somewhat hard and lumpy but it was August and so to be expected! The toilet block has separate showers for men and women but this was not always adhered to but for us it was not a problem as if the women's were full we used the mens! The toilets are unisex though and as previously mentioned there are no toilet seats but we found this to be the case in most toilets in France. The staff worked very hard at keeping the toilets clean and in the whole fortnight there was only 1 occasion when I had to swap cubicles to get some loo roll! Not bad for a fully booked site. The 'no noise' after 11 seemed to be adhered to but if you are near the bar then I would say be prepared for the music to carry on after 11. There is a shop on site which does only sell the basics, however there is a mini market about 5 minutes down the road so it was just as easy to walk there. (there is also a Spar about 10 minutes away too) There is a restaurant and a take away, we used the takeaway once and although the food was ok, they got the order wrong and we thought it was expensive but it would be ok in an emergency. The pool area was ok but understandably crowded due to the full site. However the beach is only a 10 minute walkaway if you prefer a bit more peace! The are a couple of restaurants in the local area but be prepared for a bit of a walk ( 20 mins) along uneven footpaths. All in all we had a really nice stay and woud go back!

We were on our 1st camping trip to Europe/France, went from Portsmouth to St.Malo, campsite around 3.5hr drive away. One of 5 families (children aged 4-16) just returned from 13 nights at this site. Friendly welcome by staff. On site Bakery/shop (very basic, but site not far from a Spar or Super U), take away/restaurant (good for quick pizza/fries), bar (with evening entertainment) & games room, gym (bit too energetic for our holiday) & sauna (didn't need to use this as weather was lovely 2nd week there). Football pitch, park, mini golf & boules area. The pool is a little on small side for amount of people that were there (fully booked) but very clean & children loved it - no shorts allowed when swimming, only speedos. Toilets & showers were clean, occasionally had a hot shower - think it depended on how busy showers were - having camped quite a bit we have found this is usual on most campsites. We have quite a large family tent and found the double pitches (on the campsite perimeter) a little on small side but as we were next to friends this didn't affect us (double & single pitches were divided by low hedges). The campsite has a no noise policy after 11pm but the noise from the entertainment/bar (& customers leaving) was heard until around 12.30. Lovely beach short walk away. If you venture out for a meal try L'Aquarium Restaurant in La Tranche Sur Mer, friendly staff, nice food - good service. Would also recommend a visit to Pay de Fu theme park. Please read/obey all the rules on driving in France, carry all the items required (bulbs/triangle/fire ext/1st aid kit/hi-viz jackets & photo i.d). Would recommend this campsite and La Tranche.

This site was very welcoming with the owner showing us to our pitches that were amongst the rest of the English campers. They were large enough for our tents, trailers and cars and had an electric hook up very close by. We have 3 children who were aged 6 to 11yrs and stayed with with another family who had a 16yr old and a 4 yr old child on an adjacent pitch booked with Alan Rogers.
The pool complex was fairly small for the site. The on site shop had very little to offer, the bakery was much the same as was the on site bar and cafe, hardly a restaurant - OK for lunch, that was attached to the take away.
We stayed for 10 nights and not one of us had a hot, not even warm shower, they were clean but cold. On the return ferry journey home we met another inmate who also complained about the cold showers. The toilets were kept clean but not one had a seat.
We were on holiday with a total of 9 people 4 of which were young children and we had constant complaints from security who told us to be quiet after 11pm even though the bar was open until 12pm and the disco / karaoke could be heard well above us.

This was our first trip to France with a touring caravan & we were not disappointed! We were impressed on arrival by the cleanliness & efficiency of the site & the staff. Monsieur Marton showed all visitors to their pitches personally & was always around if needed. The site was very relaxed. Pitches were large, there was plenty of room for our twin axle caravan, large towcar & outdoor furniture. We had a fully serviced pitch which was level & did not flood despite a couple of torrential storms. Despite being very geared up for families - plenty for all to do, the site was laid back & never rowdy. Security ensured in a very discreet way that there was no noise after 11pm. Three large shower blocks served the site. There were plenty of hot showers - even in peak season we never had to queue. Facilities were cleaned every 2 hours. The pool complex was immaculate & well run. Beach was a short walk away. Would highly recommend this site.
