Good level site off the road and behind the pub car park, safe for children. No shower block and only toilets in the doorway to the pub, this area left open all night. Lack of facilities no problem with a fully equipped caravan but could be a problem in a tent. Landlord also has a small shop in the pub open from 8.00am for most basics. Food in the pub or attached restaurant was very good and reasonably priced, the hand pulled beers excellent, the landlord and all staff were very friendly and helpful at all times and up to this point we could not fault the site. The only down side, and it is a very big down side, was the sites next door neighbour has a lot of dogs that bark 24/7.
A site that needs to be encouraged. Had to leave after 3 days so we could get some sleep

We also stayed here due to its close proximity to Cadwell Park. We were able to pre book at short notice and found the site not to be overcrowded even though there was a big event on at Cadwell.
The site is a flat field behind the pub. My satnav (tomtom) took me straight to it. Most of the campers seemed to be there fo the racing so I expect it would be quiet at other times. There was a fresh water point close to a building that looked like it used to be or will be a toilet block. The site indicates on here that there are showers but this did not appear to be the case. This was no hardship for us as we only stayed the one night. As has been previously stated, the toilet facilities available to campers were the pub toilets, which were available 24 hours so were adequate. However, when we were there, the gents flooded so they had to use the ladies. Things got a bit congested at times!
It was nice to have a pub close at hand and we did pop in for a drink. It did seem to be doing a roaring trade especially on the food side. We didn't have any food but if I went again I would definitely have a meal there. The landlord was very friendly and helpful, he was happy for us to leave our tent pitched until after the racing (6pm) at no extra cost.
I would definitely visit again if I were in the area but only for a night or maybe two, due to the lack of facilities. The cost was very reasonable too, think it was about £8.
All in all a very enjoyable trip

I booked at this site for somewhere to stay near Cadwell Park for the British Superbikes, and was surprised to see that the field behind the pub was larger than I thought. Although for a campsite it's still small.
It is pretty basic, but quiet, with running water, the toilets are accessed through the pub side door - although after hours the inside door to the pub is locked - the toilets are still open for use.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, (a friend had forgotten their sleeping bag and was lent a duvet and sheets to see them through the night).
There is a beer garden with a small adventure playground, situated at the back of the pub between the campsite and the dining room / conservatory.
The Waggon and Horses is about halfway between Louth and Mablethrope - so it's about 10 minutes each way if you need any groceries, and about 10 - 15 minutes to Cadwell Park motor racing circuit.
The only real thing to note is that they can be quite busy with regards to serving food, so if you want anything to eat, I would advise booking a table in advance.
If I wanted to be really really picky, then I could only say that around the edges of the car park, and the campsite could do with a tidy up - in some corners weeds and nettles especially grow quite thick, but not so much where the tents are pitched.
A little gem and a pleasant stay.

We stayed for a weekend during freezing weather. The site is not where our satnav suggested - don't rely too heavily on the postcode location! it's right on the southern outskirts of the village of South Reston.
The site is basically a field behind a pub, I don't think there is a toilet block. Electric hook up was available, though in our case I had to return to the pub to ask for it to be switched on - which it was a few minutes later. I didn't pay on arrival, though the owner was keen to confirm that I'd be having a meal in the pub during my weekend's stay!
There were three stored caravans in the field, and one other caravanner; he owned several large dogs but was friendly (as were the dogs). Plenty of room for a dozen caravans or so if necessary.
The pub had a good atmosphere, and we had a fine meal costing £32 pounds on Saturday evening. When I went to pay, I mentioned that I'd like to settle up for staying in the field and the manager suggested rounding the bill up to £50, I thought £9 per night for electric hook up, two adults and two children was reasonable enough.
You would need a car to stay here, since there are few local facilities. Louth is only a ten-minute drive, and we visited Alford windmill nearby too.
All in all a pleasant weekend away, and I'd recommend it to anyone. One final point, there were sporadic, infrequent 'bang' noises like from a shotgun throughout the daylight hours of our stay, perhaps there was a rabbit/pheasant shoot somewhere nearby? The sounds didn't bother me, my wife insisted I mention it here though!
