We booked this for our large motorhome as we could not get into the Beaune municipal site. We travelled throughout Europe covering almost 3000 miles and this was one of the poorest kept sites on our trip. The toilet/shower blocks were ok, but that is where the positives ended. The site is on a big slope and it was impossible to get level even on our maximum height ramp, so we left after a night. Booking in was so slow, although the English lady was very pleasant, it was quite expensive and it was almost impossible to get fresh water as all they had was an ordinary tap with no way to suitably connect to it. The motorhome waste point was impossible to gain access to as the trees were so badly overgrown. The electrical hookup facility did not look safe, so we did not connect to it.
We would not recommend this site, even though it was in a pleasant area, very run down as most of the French sites seem to be around this area.

We rented a mobile home for a very reasonable price direct from this campsite. We had a pleasant stay, the reception was friendly and helpful and the pool was very nice, but cold. Annoyingly, it shuts at lunchtimes, so you have to keep an eye on the time. We took a look at the pitches, they seemed a bit small and hard, but the lower ones had lovely views over the vineyard. Some pitches on the upper terraces backed onto the road, so were a bit noisy. We would stop over here again maybe for a couple of nights with our tent, but not for a whole week.

We've stayed here a number of times over the past ten years or so as it makes a great stop-off on the way to and from the south of France as it's only 10 minutes from the motorway.
As it's a Eurocamp site the facilities are good and reasonably clean, and the site is well-run. There's a small swimming pool, although it only opens in high season. However, on the occasions we've tried to eat in the restaurant, we've waited ages to be served and given up! It's not easy to find a table in a restaurant in Meursault if you don't book ahead, so pre-planning is essential for evening meals (there is a Petit Casino in the village if you don't want to drive out the the supermarkets in Beaune). Pitches are fairly small (and rock-hard!) but the site is terraced, with lots of trees and bushes, so you do have some privacy and it's a quiet site anyway (although there is always distant motorway noise). In particular, the pitches on the very far top right of the site (as you look from the entrance) have lovely views over the vineyards (and the motorway in the distance) and are worth seeking out. Be warned though, at cépage time the pickers start work very, very early and work late so it can be quite noisy in the vineyards!
The best thing to do in the area is wine tasting and although I don't usually like to pay for tastings, the ten euros spent visiting Chateau Meursault in the village are well spent - not only do you get to visit a stunning chateau and see its art galleries and cellars, but you also get a chance to drink some amazing wine . Tip - don't drive. The Chateau is within walking distance of the campsite and there is a cafe (with an amazing revolving toilet seat) if you can't manage the return journey all in one go .

The site is friendly , and well located for visiting the area although we found it quite difficult to find. Facilities are adequate but in part could do with upgrading and perhaps modernising. We found it very pleasant for a shortish stay but would probably look elsewhere if we were staying for a long period.

Find Site:- The site is best approached via the village of Meursault. Leave the A6 at junction 25 (south) at Chalons and head for Chagny on the N6 and then north on the N74. Turn left in Meursault, signed for Monthelie. The roads through Meursault are quite narrow in places so just take it easy. From junction 24 (north) and Beaune take the N74 south and follow the same route from Meursault. La Grappe d'Or is a very nice terraced site with wonderful views out across the surrounding countryside. The village of Meursault, famous for its wine, is a short walk away. It is a good alternative to the very busy and popular campsite in the town of Beaune. Pitches are of reasonable size, some under trees and some more open. The site has a couple of toilet blocks which are of a good standard. There is also a bar/restaurant and a small shop. There is also a swimming pool and children's play area. The pool seems also to be used by the locals. This is a Eurocamp site, but they only have tents not static's. Although we have used this site as a one or two day stop over it would make a good place for a longer stay. If you are interested in wine (not just drinking it!) there are many famous names close by. Beaune is also not far and very much worth a visit. Out of season this site accepts Touring Cheques which can reduce the cost of your stay.
