We visited this site in May for the first time. We received a very warm welcome from the two Dutch owners. We were shown around the site and all the facilities, and we shown our pitch, before driving in. The facilities were fine, but while we were there a new shower/toilet block was being built. The pitches were extremely generous. The one we were on was on a slope, but nothing the levelers couldn't deal with. The weather wasn't very warm but on the two sunny days the owner opened the pool and came around to tell us all. Twice a week the owners put on a three course meal for the campers. This was a brilliant evening, with great food. It is essential to book early for this popular event. The site is close to Limoges, which is well worth a visit, with St Junien even closer offering all the big supermarkets.

We stayed here 3 nights on our way south primarily to visit Oradour sur Glane. The site seems to be in two parts; one more mature with shade and the other really just a field with very large pitches and no shade. Bushes have been planted but will take some time to establish. As mentioned in other reviews the toilet block is very basic as are the washing up facilities.
The owners are very friendly and helpful, it was lovely to have bread delivered to our pitch in the morning. The wifi signal did not work on our pitch so we had to use our laptop at the bar. We didn't explore the area but the swimming lake looked clean with a nice beach, the bar in the village was very friendly as was the garage (chap mended our car straight away and charged 10 euros).

A good location and great lanes and small roads to explore on bikes. There is a swimming lake near by. The pitch was a good size with hook up and water. There is a new pool though it is small and was always crowded and is very much a play pool for young children. The wash rooms and toilets are very tired and desperately in need of an upgrade. They were under pressure in the mornings with queues and although kept very clean, the facilities are dingy and dark.
The site is Dutch owned and when we were there 99% of other users were from the Netherlands - so much so that we forgot we were in France. The internet can work out to be expensive and the free PC is almost always in use.
Mixed feelings really. Might go back - but I would search elsewhere first.

We decided to visit this site based on the reviews on this page and would broadly agree with them.
The pitches are huge making the caravan mover redundant.
The owner is enthusiastic and helpful.
The toilets/showers are not new but are very clean and pleasant to use.
There is a trampoline, a small play area and a large open space but not really great for children
A few different points
We had mixed weather during our stay- in the sun the site was great but when it rained we realised that there was very little tarmac/concrete so a trip to the toilets could get muddy. Guess who didn't pack wet weather shoes!
The nearby village has a bar, a small shop and best of all a very good bakery with some of the nicest french bread you will taste.
Limoges is about 30 minutes away and is not really worth visiting by comparison with most French towns.
Rochechouart and St Junien are both small towns with supermarkets. They are about 20 minutes away and are typical small french towns with Rochechoart the most attractive with may old houses in the centre. Rochechouart is best for restaurants with St Junien having the only hypermarket.
One visit not to be missed is Oradour Sur Glane ( about 30 minutes) which is the remaims of a village that was surrounded by the Germans in 1944 and every man, woman and child killed. The way that the remains have been preserved is at the same time chilling and awe inspiring. Not to be missed.
We arrived as the Dutch schools broke up ( 3 weeks before the UK) and the site was full and turning away visitors. This put pressure on the toilets but the site still felt airy.
I would agree with the comments that there were so many Dutch people it didn't feel like France.
The area is OK but in 5 days we visited what we wanted and don't really feel the need to return unlike the Lower Limousin and Dordogne which draws us time and time again. The camp site generated the same feelings - fine for a few days but then move on.

Enthusiastic welcome from Dutch owner. New smallish swimming pool opened this season. Clean toilet block, if a little old and basic. VERY large pitches. Free use of internet on lap top in bar. Book exchange in bar and a Games box. Not much shade on quite a few pitches but trees are planted to eventually give some. Good site to go out to visit Oradour sur Gane. Lots of tourist info in office. Meal evenings. We would return.

My wife and I visited this site in August 2010 with our trailer tent when we travelled down to Spain and found it Excellent, so much so that we called again on our return journey. 2011 we did exactly the same trip this time with a caravan in may/ June and stayed a few day going down also on our returning which split our long journey to Spain in two. As always Antonie and Yolanda including their son always welcomed us with great warmth me being Elderly and disabled, nothing is to much trouble for them, The facilities being adequate are always clean and spotless the WIFI was improved on our last trip wirelessly to cover most of the pitches we did use, half a mile away a small village shop which catered for all our provisional needs plus a cafe/bar on main street with good parking.
5 to 6 mile away is a lovely town of St Junien alongside a beautiful river, 2 supermarket facilities one of which had a pay at pump fuel supply even when the shop was closed. The only downside to this site is having to leave it. We will, health permitting visit this site as many times as we possibly can in the future.

We'd concur with the previous feedback, but with the exception of the pitch size. Further down from the pitches situated close to the entrance they are larger (100 sq m). Their ground is somewhat uneven and mostly sloping, but let this put you off.
Beautiful country side within the neighbourhood and extremely peaceful. We’d highly recommended it especially if you are not a fan of the industrial sized 'family and fun' sites.
One minor gripe - no hand washing facility by the men’s urinal and on one side of the shared WC's.

Dutch owners who spoke excellent English - friendly and helpful, showing us round the site, explaining where everything was before we chose our own pitch. The pitches weren't huge as this is a smallish site but adequate and each pitch serviced - some shade pitches. Toilet block all dual-sex and everything clean and neat. You need to supply your own loo paper.
The owners deliver bread to your pitch each morning if ordered the night before. They also do meals which seemed well patronised but the shop / bar / dining was a pre-fab building and very hot so we did our own BBQ's. Within cycling distance of the town where shopping was available and nice walks within the area. The owner organised group walks with him leading and these seemed popular with the Dutch tourers. The Dutch seem to patronise Dutch owned sites but we did not feel overwhelmed by the majority of Dutch here. Stayed 4 enjoyable days.
The only disappointment was that the ACSI book showed a pool on the photograph for this site but there is no pool - a lesson for us - you need to read all the information as the pool is in the town.
