Stayed here for a few days to visit my brother. It was a little difficult to find especially as there were some road closures locally.
The entrance is a track which goes down between two houses one of which is a new build and the other much earlier more in keeping with other properties in the road.
There is a sign on the left brickpillar, not easy to spot though coming from one direction. About a quarter of a mile down track there is a gate into the farm yard and then a gate the other end to the camping field. Lt is quite a steep slope but on slabs so no problem to climb it with an outfit that is well balanced.
This is a little gem of a site, you are only half a mile or so from town centre but it is so peaceful you could be right out in the country. We were made to feel welcome here, Mark and his wife who live on site make sure you want for nothing.
Yes the toilet was ok apart from a few cobwebs, and where it is, a little more than a shed. It could be improved but the old saying, you get what you pay for comes to mind. I used my caravan facilities anyway so that was fine.

Access through a farm yard is quite tight, and bit of a slope to get to camping field. Electric hook ups and water, and toilet in a wooden shed is basic but clean if you want to use it.
Owners friendly and site is as expected for a CL. Ideal for visiting relatives in Quorn, hope to return April 2016

We wondered when we arrived if we had the correct site as owner wasn't particularly welcoming.
The hill is very steep and definitely not for large caravans which we weren't advised on booking.
Shed were the toilet and sink are was very basic, door is rotten, full of cob webs and unclean. We didn't use it as have our own but wouldn't have liked to use it if needed to.
Lovely views and the open camp fire area is nice. But its quite noisy as you can hear the trains and low flying aircraft during the night. Very narrow site and pitches quite small.
Ok for a stop over but it wasn't for us. Left early and wouldn't use again. Not particularly safe for young children either with machinery and emu type birds that can be aggressive and kids have to remain within the field but its the only exit and entrance. Which felt cluttered.
Not a well positioned site for families

Management response: Hi, the trains you can hear are steam trains, our site is close to the Great Central Railway, (5 min walk). We are 20 miles from any airport, so aeroplanes are still high up IF they pass over
Our toilet block is very basic, but is CLEAN
There is a mild slope up to the site, we can get 20ft plus in with no problem at all. In the winter like all grass its slippery but I do help to move people around,
We are very laid back like the other comments say, we will do most things for you if we can.
We have chickens, geese and rheas, tall long legged birds, the Rheas are behind a 6ft fence that is nowhere near the camp site, they do get mardy around breading time,
I do have a tractor and 1 other car in the yard you come through to get to the site, pretty easy I think
The camp site is over 75 yards long and around 10 yards wide at the most. We have a open fire pit and I give you FREE wood to use on it.
Any body wants to and visit please ring 1st, we get really busy in the summer.
Thanks Mill Farm. |

A really friendly atmosphere, fantastic views, great location for the village shops, pubs and takeaways.
The owners made our stay a really fantastic holiday, it was like being home from home.
I highly recommend this site to everyone that want's a great holiday!
We will definitely be visiting there again!

A late review as only just joined this site, so may have been changes since our visit. We stayed overnight summer 2014 to break up a long journey.
Lovely village and surrounding area
Little bit scruffy on entering site
Steep little hill up to small camping area
Didn't check out loo as just used our own little portaloo but looked like it was in a shed - may have changed since 2014.
Just not for us. Too casual, owner too 'laid back'
Cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Lovely area though

We stayed here for one night over May Bank Holiday to visit our daughter at Loughborough Uni.
Mill Farm is quite hard to find, but its a lovely secluded location, and just a 10 min walk to Quorn village centre which has a few pubs and restaurants and where you can hop on a bus to Loughborough or Leicester.
Access to the camping field (more like a large garden) is quite steep but manageable. There is just one toilet and hand basin in a small shed, but its well lit and clean.
The owner is really friendly and laid back. Ideal for a one night stopover for only £10 inc EHU.

We bought a new caravan over 200 miles away from home and decided to break our journey back by stopping off at this quiet CL site.
There are no hard standing pitches and the grass was a little soggy at this time of year. All pitches appeared to be fairly level.
Unfortunately we had the first cold spell of 2012 and the water pipes for the site froze but we managed to get water from another supply on the farm.
Only negative for us was that the entrance to the field is quite narrow and the first few yards steep.

Just spent 4 nights here on this 'Camping and Caravan Club' hideaway site which describes it perfectly. The owners are very laid back and friendly. Only about 5 pitches all with hook up so advise to phone first. There is a toilet in a shed which is very basic but no shower.
The site is very handy for 'The Great Central Steam Railway' with Quorn station within a 10 to 15 min walk from site. Quorn village itself is only 10 to 15 min walk from site with several pubs, Take aways, shops and restaurants.
We will revisit this site again in the future.
