 This largish site is about twenty minutes south west of St Etienne. It is situated in a secluded wooded valley and has a small river running by the site. The site is on two flat levels, the upper level is partially shaded by trees and has electric hookups (french style connections), the lower level, by the river, has no electricity. Most of the campers were either French or Dutch with the usual handful of Belgians and Brits thrown in for good measure.
There are two shower/toilet blocks, one is modern, clean and well maintained, the other is . Clean and well maintained. There is a small pool and a friendly bar/restaurant, with an English chef! There is also an extensive takeaway menu (bring your own pots). You can order bread and croissants each day from the small shop. The staff all seemed friendly and helpful.
The river is too small for canoeing, but big enough for children to float rubber rings etc on. The surrounding woodlands contain numerous footpaths, although every walk, at some point, goes uphill. There are cycles for hire, and the site arranges canoe trips on the Loire.
This is not a site for those who want lots of attractions and entertainments laid on all of the time, nor for that matter is the surrounding area. Rather this is a family friendly site set in tranquil and natural surroundings, a good place to unwind.
