Stayed at this huge site with P & R Continental. The van was spotless with wine and water in the fridge when we arrived. We hired bed linen and towels that were good quality and well laundered. Site staff helpful and friendly. Although we did not need them, there were plenty of clean toilet / shower blocks dotted all over the site. Attractive site with lots of pine trees and statuesque palms. Each pitch had trees and were surrounded by hedges, giving privacy. The road on site were lit at night. The restaurant was fine, though a bit pricey. Nearby road noise can be heard at night but didn't bother us.
Good facilities described elsewhere. We were there the last week of the season so many things closed, or only open at odd times. Site statics being upgraded to vans with pitched roofs, with many being emptied and moved. Felt sorry for the private owners in this situation.
Good family activities nearby, beaches, go-kart track, zoo, aqua pools, supermarkets etc. A car is needed to get to anywhere off site. Lots of good places to visit with St Tropez 1 hour boat ride away. Local roads are littered with roundabouts so you need to be clear about rights of way, and directions etc. Our Sat Nav came in very useful particularly when we got lost. Would be happy to return in the future.

We spent 6 days on this site and I have got to say this is one of the best sites we have stayed on in France. Toilet blocks, dish washing, laundry area set in beautiful court yard filled with palm trees. Swimming pools (3) were lovely patrolled by life guards, who were very strict about any breaking of the rules. Nice little pub on site and also takeaway, o.K. Could possibly be better. All pitches were separated by trees and we had squirrels visit us every morning. Lots to do out and about, Nice big hyper market about 5 mins drive away, bus stop outside of campsite takes you to a variety of places. We will definitely be revisiting this site again when we are in the area. 10 out of 10.

I have stayed at this site at least 20 times. I loved it so much that I store my touring caravan nearby and only use it there! (We now fly down to the caravan and hire a car at Nice airport) We are now a retired couple and although it is definitely a family site it never seems too busy or noisy as each pitch is in woodland and has bushes privately screening each plot. The toilet blocks are always spotless. The restaurant is good. The shop is adequate. The pools are to die for and the local beaches at St Aguylf are just fantastic. I would have to give this site 10/10 Don't hesitate- try to avoid high season though as nearby roads get very busy!

Stayed with Keycamp July/Aug 08. Despite the state of the van on arrival we thoroughly enjoyed this site and have booked to go back already.
The site is much larger than average but as is usually the case the facilities reflect this. La Baume is no exception.
The pools are marvellous with good depth (upto 2.6m in areas). Watch out for the painful spiky non-slip floors though. The slides are pretty good although being concrete they don't have such a smooth ride for the parents. Paint was also peeling during our stay so don't use when sun burnt. We did find it got a bit hectic around the larger of the pool complexes with hormonal Dutch and English teenagers showing how hard they can look whilst showing their undergarments outside swimming shorts (never did that in my day).
The takeaway at the La Baume side was pathetic and we didn't return but the restaurant at the other end of the site was excellent.
The site is immaculately presented when compared to others in the area with Palm trees lining most roads and automatic watering systems everywhere. Don't worry about the dustiness of the pitches. It isn't that bad and just think how expensive it would be if they had an automatic watering system for grass!
The location of the site is possibly the most suspect. It is outside of Frejus right alongside the motorway where some noise can be heard. The road into Frejus is always very busy but commuting to inland Provence is a doddle.
The Keycamp/Eurocamp kids clubs are pretty good. In fact they are better staffed than the main Keycamp reception.
There is a zoo/safari type thing nearby. This is reminiscent of most third world countries' landscapes but gave us the opportunity to get out of the heat with Air Con at full blast in the car and was value for money. The spectacle is a must. Just to illustrate how the French misuse 'spectacle'. A tiger jumping from one box to another doesn't quite cut it.

This site is great for kids. Swimming pools are huge, with good selection of slides etc. Very clean and very large. The shop on site is expensive - but supermarket just down the road. We have a young family and it suited all ages. Basketball, tennis, football, table tennis, boules etc etc etc. Good restaurant - booking essential especially on high season. Would definitely go again.

This has got to be one of the best sites we have used in France in the fourteen years we have had a touring caravan. The facilities were good, swimming pools indoor and outdoor were just great, with plenty of sunbathing areas. The restaurant was always very busy because the food was so good, but we never had to wait for more than ten minutes before we got a table. The disco went down a treat with our teenage children. The toilet and shower facilities were a little bit dated in the decor but always very clean with plenty of hot water no matter what time of the day or night you used them. Overall this is a site I would go back to again with very helpful staff at reception who all speak very good English.

We stayed here in a Key camp tent but were right next to the touring pitches which were full of mostly dutch families. As previous reviews have stated the pitches are medium sized and very well shaded. They are all very dusty with very little grass to be found. The site is large and very well run with very helpful staff at reception. Where we were pitched at night you could hear a fair bit of noise from the road and for the first few nights it did make it hard to sleep after that we got used to the noise at night and slept like babies! All the touring pitches are in this area so bear that in mind. There is a pool complex, shop, bar & takeaway close to the touring pitches and at the far side of the site there is another pool, bar and sports facilities (tennis, volleyball, basketball, table tennis). All in all a brilliant site to entertain the kids at with facilities that should please everyone. If you are looking for a quiet site then this isn't the one. We would definitely recommend it for families with teenagers.

Stayed here with Keycamp in April/May 2006. Massive site, very easy to get lost - as we did a few times. When we visited the site it was full of Dutch visitors during their half term. They all left on the Saturday and then it was deserted! Ground is very dry and hard with no grass, wouldn't fancy camping here. Facilities are very good, pools are nice. We had our own bathroom in the Keycamp mobile, but had a quick look at the toilets and showers. The new blocks looked good, although strangely there were no toilets seats. Area is very nice - we ate out each evening in some great restaurants. About 15 euros for 3 courses.

We visited La Baume in August 2002 and again in August 2003 (the review form doesn't list those years hence my incorrect date). La Baume is large but very well run site on the outskirts of Frejus. It has 2 large pool complexes - 1 near the La Baume entrance, and 1 at La Palmeraie which is the adjoining sister site (there is no real boundary between them and all facilities are open to guests of both sections. The La Baume pools (there are a number of them including a water slide) attract a more active crowd and teenagers, the La Palmeraie pool attracts more young families. At both pools we found the lifeguards to be excellent and first aid assistance to be very good - which is useful at the La Baume pool which has a non-slip concrete deck and there were a number of stubbed toes to be dealt with. We also witnessed a couple of children get themselves into trouble in water out of their depth and the lifeguards were consistently the first to spot the problem and turn what could have been a major problem into a non-event through immediate action. I really can't praise the lifeguards enough! Both sections of the site have a takeaway / restaurant / bar facility and at night the split is much as per the day - busy, teenage and clubhouse style entertainment at La Baume, a quieter atmosphere at La Palmeraie. The pitches here feature lots of trees and shrubs which act as shade and mark the boundaries but are quite dusty - I would describe them as medium sized. We were staying in Keycamp rented static caravans on both of our visits. These were fine but we tended to use the site showers in preference to the caravan shower. The site blocks were fine and generally clean. There are a number of kids clubs run by the various holiday companies, and also the local site animation team. Our kids loved these but you had to be there early as they could get over subscribed. The site is alongside a motorway and whilst we heard no noise on our pitches, I would imagine that there must be some pitches on the site which experience a little noise. There is a high wall on the motorway side of the site which I guess cuts out a lot of the noise, and just the other side of the wall is a night service road (track??) which allows access to the far reaches of the site in the evening to avoid too much through traffic. Site security seemed very good and there is a barrier for which you are issued a pass to gain vehicular access. The site has a small supermarket which stocks most essentials and for the breakfast run we preferred to visit a bakery offsite just down the road towards Frejus. Next door to the bakery is a great Pizza takeaway. Despite being a large site we found it coped well with the numbers and liked it so much we will return again this summer - I will post a new review when we return.
