We used this site for a stop-over on the way home, it lies about an hour south of Calais. Approached for the last couple of miles from the motorway, along an awful, lumpy road, access is fair to the site. We understand that satnav is not recommended to find this site, but the CC ‘Snooper’ satnav found it along a safe if bumpy route for caravans with no problems.
The site is a curious one, conventional at one end, with hedged pitches for tourers and seasonal units but at our end we were sited in a single row, overlooking the carp lake at the front with a jungly swamp behind us, also full of water. Pitches are of adequate size with electric points and a nearby tap available. The latter was barely adequate, quite elegantly presented for a garden but almost useless to fill an aquaroll. Ours was never more than 60% full! Despite having water all around us, there were no mozzie problems. The pitches seemed rather wet with damp longish grass, but that may have been from local thunderstorms.
Facilities were very good, plenty of hot water, large shower cubicles and regularly cleaned.
Not a site we would holiday on, although some obviously did, and doubtless a haven for Carp fishers.

This campsite is located in a small village and has approximately 60 touring pitches mostly grass with a few hardstanding for motorhomes.
We arrived during lunchtime but Madame (Alexandra) kindly let us check-in; she speaks excellent English and has pre-typed instructions ready to the nearest Intermarché at Gauchy for fuel and provisions.
The sanitary block is indoors and located in the main admin building. It was very clean with separate areas for ladies & gents. In the ladies are 3 roomy showers, 3 toilets, 2 washbasins and 2 private washbasins. The showers were really good – warm water with a powerful spray. The toilets have no seats but toilet paper is provided.
We were allocated pitch 39 directly by the lake, which was very nice, but not particularly near a water point.
We were only there for one night, I paid 2€ for 24 hours wifi and 16€ with ACSI (plus tax).
A well kept site with very good toilets and showers, I would happily stay there again.

Arrived here to be welcomed by the owner Alexandra in perfect English, we were allocated a lakeside pitch as I wanted to do some fishing. We were also given leaflets and maps of the area, pitch was spacious with 10 amp electric hookup and my own fishing platform that housed my gear for the nine days we were there.
Toilet facilities were always kept clean and tidy as were the grounds, the fishing was slow and I only had bream and tench, WiFi was €2 a day but I was only charged €10 for our entire stay.
I mentioned that we only had DVD's with us and Alexandra lent me one of her spare FreeSat boxes and a resident helped us set it up, what fantastic service.
We visited the British WW1 Cemetery which was very moving, shop a 5 minute away for bread etc and bigger Hypermarkets in the local town which will supply you with everything you will need.
All in all a cracking site and we are already planning our next trip there in September, had to give a 1 for Child friendliness due to the proximity of water.

Unfortunately just the 1 night stop en route north. Very helpful owner who speaks excellent english if you find your French hard going or its too early in the hols. Very clean sanitary block with separate toilet and showers and single sexed. Some pitches are quite large but not too many of them. Could become soggy when very wet but we had no problems. There's a big InterMarche at Gauchy, details of directions from reception. Great for anglers, the site lives up to its name. Would make a good longer stay site. Not too keen on the access roads from the motorway. Very bumpy ride on the country roads. We found it better going through Roupy (great Church spire) and putting up with speed bumps but that may just be us. ACSI site

This was our first stop after Calais and arrived along with another British couple during lunch but the deservedly, much-praised owner broke off from cleaning the amenities block to check us in.
Allocated pitch on the lakeside which was fine, though as night fell the insects started to come out. This may have been an issue for us later in the season but since it was cool, we went back into the caravan. Then the 6amp electricity became an issue as we would have liked to have the heating on. (Being away for several weeks we are trying to conserve gas. ). One of the seasonal campers did say that plans are afoot to upgrade the electricity supply so that would be useful.
Access is via a single track driveway and space beside reception is limited, so at busy times this may cause problems for arrivals/departures.
Since we only stayed one night we did not venture far - just to pay our respects at the nearby Commonwealth War Graves cemetery on the edge of the village which is beautifully maintained and moving.
Will earmark this site for future reference as it is a lovely setting and easy to get to.

I agree with what has previously been written about the site. The showers were of the temperature pre set variety but water pressure was good and the temperature was hot enough. The toilet block was very clean. Reception staff were helpful.
On the downside there were no dog walking paths away from traffic outside the site. A good overnight or site for longer stays - we were on our way further south.

This was our 2nd visit to this campsite. We had left home without the tent pegs. Alexandra, who seems to be in charge of everything is an amazing lady and she could not have been any more helpful as she gave us some tent pegs. We were over the moon and couldn't thank her enough. We love everything about this site and will definitely be going back at some point. When we do go back we will return the tent pegs.

What a lovely rural campsite.
We are 4 adults with a trailer tent. We had a warm welcome in reception and were given a pitch overlooking the carp fishing lake, which was very pretty. High hedges divided the pitches, so it was as if we were all on our own in a perfect spot.
Sanitaires were divided, male and female; with separate rooms for laundry and wash-ups. All very clean and spacious. Loads of information available on the notice boards about the local area.
Bread van was due to arrive at 10am, which was a bit late for us, but only 100m off site to the local minimarket for freshly baked baguettes and beer (camping essentials).
The village is lovely, with nice walks by the canal and river.
The only problem we found was the mossies in the evening. Obviously being beside the lake this can be expected. But be warned - if you get eaten like me, use plenty of mossie repellent!
On leaving the village to continue our journey to Calais, we called at the war cemetery just outside the village. Beautifully kept, as they all are, and quite moving.

Our second visit - we stayed for 10 nights back in 2009 - and the campsite is even better now than it was then. You could have a picnic in the toilets - they are that clean! It's a bit of a one-night transit for people travelling further afield, but the site and the area bear a much longer visit. Note the number of seasonal pitches - obviously a lot of others would seem to agree! The facilities are excellent, with a great club room. Wifi isn't free, but 2 Euros per day for access from anywhere on site felt reasonable. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Don't miss the 'beach' in St Quentin every summer, great cycling and the war history. Quiet location, but 10 minutes from the 'AutoRoute des Anglais'. Just mind the mosquitoes - there are lakes on site, so be prepared with 'moscoils' and insect repellent.

Overall one of the best sites I have visited. Alexandra who runs the office and does the admin amongst other things couldn't be more helpful. Warm welcome, nothing too much trouble for her (she even telephoned a couple of sites near to Calais for our second week to confirm availability etc). Most pitches are in the main body of the site with approx another 20 facing onto the lake. Lovely setting, very peaceful. Small choice of local produce in the office along with refrigerated beers/wines. Met several folk on other pitches who had been going there for years. Single building containing toilets/showers/dishwashing/clothes washing etc spotless. Childrens play area. Sebastian, Alexandra's husband was always busy mowing, trimming etc to keep the environment up to the same very high standard as everything else Located in a small village with 1 bar and 1 SPAR type shop containing all essentials.
We went there largely for the fishing so for those of you with similar leanings: lake is well stocked, bream dominate during the day (to 5lb caught), nice head of rudd and tench. Carp-wise lake record is over 40lb and photos from late the previous year showed mid 30lb catches. We managed a 19lb, 18lb, 11lb and a 10lb. All caught between 4 and 5 a. M. Very little carp activity during the day. Quite thick lily growth down the centre of the lake but negotiable with accurate casting. No rigid lake fishing rules, respect and common sense seemed to be the watch words. There are mozzies and you will be bitten if sitting by the lake at the hours they are out (didn't seem to be a problem for pitches that were not lake-side) but repellents will keep this to a minimum. Don't let this put you off, if you do you will miss out on staying at a top site.
As regards the surrounding environs we didn't see too much as we spent most of our time fishing. Another fishing complex 2 minutes drive away with 3 trout lakes and a very heavily stocked carp lake, you will catch all day long an these. Also a shop with all you will need fishing-wise including a brasserie and bar. And finally on the fishing front there is the Saint Quentin canal with carp to well over 60lb which have been witnessed by other folk on the site I spoke to basking at times of hot weather.
