CL site used - Basic facilities and only one loo and shower in both male and female toilets for both the CL and adjacent large public site.
Handy for Sandwich and Deal both lovely towns.
Not fishing so can't comment on that.
EHU in corner of CL field means a bit squashed up if 5 on site at once so positioning of unit important if you want your privacy.
Very close is the Fowlmead park with long Tarmac cycle track and several off road sections, very good with bikes for hire if you don't take your own.
SWMBO loved the lack of traffic there.
Good bike ride from Deal to Sandwich too.

If you enjoy fishing then this is an ideal site. Fishing is very good here and there is a tackle shop on site. The site is quiet and secure with a token operated barrier. There is a small bar and café on site. There is a separate male and female shower and toilets, they are basic but clean. The showers are not on a timer and are included in the pitch price. They are hot and have good water pressure. The pitches are reasonably priced and are spacious. The site never seems to be overcrowded. A cycle park is next to the site and dogs can be walked there but have to be kept on a lead. The town of Deal is a short drive away. We love this site and have stayed here in a tent and a caravan.

I stayed here with my partner from Friday to Sunday, and it was a nice little site.
Pros:
The staff were really friendly and helpful. They allowed us to arrive at any time in the morning, and as there was no one booked to take over our pitch we could stay as late as we wanted on the final day.
The facilities were kept clean, and the women's shower was the best I've ever had at a campsite.
The price was really fair.
If, like me, you're interested in history, both Walmer and Deal Castles are under 10 mins away, with lots of other attractions close by.
Cons:
The toilets were closed from 10:30-11:30 am, which was really irritating as that's the time we usually shower after having breakfast. Other sites seem to do this early in the morning so it doesn't affect people. Also, there was no freezer available.
The fishing lakes are very popular, and the camp site is right at the entry so we had people driving past us all day, and the place wasn't particularly quiet.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay, and as my partner fishes he really enjoyed himself, so we would go back. However, bear in mind that it is a fishing destination first and a campsite second.

Very nice site - friendly staff and not expensive considering it's location. Toilets basic but perfectly adequate. A pity though, that if you're not fishing, you're not allowed to walk or cycle anywhere off the camping field and near any of the 7 or so fishing lakes. I know that's a shame, as I did cycle round for 10 minutes before I was informed of the rule! It's absolutely beautiful in the crisp October sunlight, but all out of bounds, and nothing at all else to do on the site. It's also a shame the staff didn't point out the extensive Foulmead country park next door. We found it anyhow, and had a fab 3 hours mountainbiking and walking around the extensive reclaimed pit.

We stayed here in May and were very disappointed. The ladies shower room urgently needs updating, its very small and the floor and surrounds of shower was very dirty, most off putting. I felt much needed to be done and complained to staff, who were aware of the problems with the shower room
The area to park was ok in a large field with lots of birds. , but you can not walk around the fishing lakes, which was not clear when we booked.
There are local birdwatching sites nearby

Although this site states no tents we have just returned from a 4 night stay at this very quiet understated site with our 8 man tent!
Facilities are basic with no washing up sinks, however the showers do have lots of hot water, the down side is that they are very small and there is no where to put your towel apart from the window sill.
The site is very much geared towards the fisherman and the fishing on the 7 lakes was relaxing and plentiful, our 5 year old was most excited about catching her first Bream. The on-site tackle shop was well stocked and had very knowledgeable staff.
The camp site staff were also very helpful and accommodating as we decided we wanted to stay another night. Have to agree with Janet that the site was not child orientated with rules about no ball games of any sort and limited bike riding around the site, but our two (ages 9 & 5) did have fun!

This was our first CL site and very pleasant too. Huge open grassy field, horse paddock to one end and (roped-off) view across the fishing lakes at other. Other sides were tall whispering trees, and strangely there was a 'public' campsite too, also nice looking but plain, with EHU and open fields.
Only EHU at the CL site is in corner of field, so if there are 5 families visiting, it gets a bit squashed. Loos adequate; though gents was under repair; showers OK but small. In summary, ideal for a few nights away, not pretentious at all, very quiet and rural and great location for exploring Kent coast, from Dover/Dungness to Whitstable.

We have just returned from a week at Cottington Lakes, the facilities were very good. Staff very friendly and fishing in the lakes was excellent. There is a well stocked tackle shop on site ,a very modern cafe and bar all of which make you very welcome. Although this is mainly first and foremost a fishery catering mainly for visiting anglers we were made very welcome, and were placed on a very nice pitch. We will return next time we visit Kent, well worth a visit.

A lovely friendly site. Clean basic shower and toilet facilities and electric hook up. Accessible fresh water and waste points. Walking distance to Deal and Country Park (cycling and walking). Near (by car) to Canterbury, Sandwich, Folkestone. Fishing lakes, shop and cafe on site for the fishermen. Definitely not a site for children.
