Visited this site during the low season so many of the facilities(i. E. Pool, Restaurant, one toilet block) had already closed.

On arrival staff very friendly and accommodating. Due to recent rain we requested a hardstanding pitch and were given this. Our pitch, along with most of the others on site, was large and hedged allowing for privacy when sitting out.

The shower and toilet block that remained open was warm and clean and during our visit we never had to wait to use any of the facilities.

The city of Angers is lovely. Less than 10 minutes drive by car and parking is very reasonable(1. 50 euro 3 hours). Alternatively you can walk into the city from the site around the lake and alongside the River Maine (approx 5km)and it's flat all the way.

Large Carrefour hypermarket within two minutes drive.

Ideal place to stay to visit the city of Angers.

A large site although when we visited, after the middle of August, half of it was closed; had no trouble booking on-line.

Large pool (no flumes &c), some children's facilities, and a snack bar (does breakfasts and some drinks but closes fairly early) - we didn't try any of those but looked fine. Toilet blocks clean and adequate. Staff helpful.

As its name suggests, the site is situated within the Parc du Lac de Maine and provides some reasonable walking - quite a lengthy stroll around the lake - with watersports facilities available. Individual pitches, on various types of surface.

Our main reason for staying there was to explore Angers which is well worth doing. It is possible to walk into Angers along the river but it is some distane; easy bike ride! If driving in, best to park on the south bank (some interesting bars and cheap restos) and walk over to the citadel for its various sites - the tapestries of the Apocalypse are well worth visiting although best to avoid going during a massive thunderstorm when the castle starts to flood. A bit worrying in the circumstances.

At four stars we thought this a little over-priced and over-rated but had no serious complaints.

After reading the reviews of this campsite, I was disappointed to be honest. The plus points was the staff are extremely friendly, pitches are good size and decent pool size. The bad: very basic facilities compared to other privately run French sites. The restaurant served pizza every night and hot chicken. The bar choice was very limited offering beer, whisky, martini, pernod or wine! Entertainment was ok as to be expected on campsites such as kids disco and a singer. I wouldn't come back here and its a shame as the staff were brilliant. Shame about the bar/restaurant as if more choice of drinks and food given it would be ok.

The toilets/showers again just ok. Have seen a lot better. Hot water in showers but for a max of 1 min at time.

Site itself is a little bit out of the way if not using a car, but there is a bus stop outside camp that the number 6 bus goes into town.

Nice site but nothing to entice me to stay again. Oh another plus was the cost, quite cheap rates compared to other sites. Cost us 33 euros per night for large motorhome and 6 occupants. Not bad compared to average 44 euros elsewhere.

Large site on the outskirts of Angers situated within a large lakeside park. Well organised site with good sized pitches separated by hedges. Our pitch was half grass and half stony but enough room for the tent on the grass. Some pitches are much shadier than others. Good swimming pool, bar offers meals. Helpful staff, access to internet available in reception. Angers has lots of interesting things to see but need transport into city. The adjoining park offers swimming in the lake and lots of other activities. For cyclists the site is adjacent to the 'Loire a Velo' route and the site can be reached from the city on dedicated cycle track and on to the Loire River by the same track through the park.

Stayed at this site for three nights in glorious weather. This site could not be better run or more well organised. The facilities are plentiful and always clean and offer endless hot water. The site has an excellent, large outdoor pool areas and the bar offers a wide range of meals in the evening, as well as a take-away service. The home baked pizzas were excellent. Staff speak excellent English and lay on entertainment every day and night in-season.

The surrounding area is brilliant. The city of Angers is well worth a visit and the the lake on which the site is situated offers excellent opportunities for swimming and water-sports. Further afield, there is an abundance of chateaux to visit , the cities of Tours and Samaur, and other attractions such as a Troglodyte village. Three days really wasn't enough to explore this vast area.

Mega municipal, swipe card barriers, tarmac roads, pedestrian ways, totally organized. All pitches have hedge dividers and access from a roadway, a lot of hard standing, but we have been on with a tent in the past( BC before caravan that is ). Sanitares a plenty and kept clean and tidy. On site there are pools, games areas, restos, cafes etc. It all may sound horrendous to some, but we have been on as a couple, and not found it too noisy, in fact it can be what you make it.There are shops on site, but there is also a supermarket within easy access, even walking if you feel energetic.
The main advantage (no pun intended) is the proximity of the Parc de Loisirs du Lac de Maine which is a brilliant leisure parc adjoining the site, with a lake, man made beaches for swimming, boating, canoeing, and the parkland is extensive go to www.Lacdemaine.Fr for details in English,
Trips out try Angers, Saumur for wine tasting and mushroom caves (don't confuse the two like some people we know !), and for a lovely evening out try Bouchemaine, a glass of wine and watch the herons.
