Lovely campsite, with private hedged pitches, shower blocks and loos were spotless, even though it was high season. Even though the site was full we had no problems with noise at night or anything else. Not many English campers most seemed to be French or Dutch. Had 2 weeks of boiling hot weather only 1 storm for a night and day.
The pool was basic compared to others we have seen in France and was very busy, we did not manage to sit on a sun lounger for the whole 10 days that we were there, no slides for older children, just a small toddler one.
There is a fishing lake, which was not very well looked after, could of done with bit of maintenance, however we did catch some fish out of it!
Loads to do in all directions of the site, but you do need a car, its a fair drive to nearest supermarket ect. We will revisit at some point, its a lovely area, probably not in the first 2 weeks of August again though!

We had a fabulous week at this campsite at the end of the low season. Very reasonable price at
Only 19 euro per night and 6 nights for the price of 7.
The site is about a 10 minute drive from Sarlat which is a really pretty town and has excellent shopping and supermarkets.
The site was very clean and well kept. Our pitch was at the top of the terraces where it was a bit cooler and nice and shady and a bit quieter away from main area, but still only a 5 min walk from the main facilities. We also had a toilet, shower and dishwashing block about a 2 minute walk away. The toilet block was clean and well kept, takes a bit of getting used to being in the open air but actually cleaner and less smelly than indoor toilets - obviously had a roof though! also a bit weird having mens and ladies toilets next to each other but you soon get used to it.
Our two daughters loved the fab play area and the pool is perfect - a huge paddling pool with water slide for the wee ones and a slightly deeper pool for all alongside it - although adults can stand up in both so not too deep. Maybe could do with a few more sun loungers but got one most of the time.
The facilities on site are excellent - a fairly well stocked shop, restaurant, takeaway and bar and all the staff are really friendly.
In the area there are lots of troglodyte attractions but the best thing we did was canoe down the dordogne - highly recommended.
All in all a fantastic time and will definitely be back.
PS Road noise never an issue for us and I am a light sleeper!

Stayed here for 11 days at the start of September. Again (as with all the Castels sites) this was a wonderful find. Tranquil location but within striking distance of most of the Dordogne and Lot valleys. We even ventured as far as St Emillion for a day trip which was great. The lovely medieval town of Sarlat is a short distance from the site and is a great place to visit. There are a plethora of local markets dotted around, all offering great local produce.
All in all a great site and a fabulous region to visit.

A beautiful, well maintained site, well situated for all the attractions of the Dordogne(Sarlat, Lascaux Caves, Beynac, La Roque Gageac, etc). Only 15 minutes from Sarlat, but not on a bus route, so owners of larger camper vans may want to consider hiring a car for a few days to go and see the sights. (Campsite owners glad to help out with local car hire firms).
Site owned by a very friendly family, restaurant of high quality and very good value for money. Good mix of nationalities - very international feel. I would thoroughly recommend this site, and will definitely be going back next year!

Had a real nice week here. Had a really nice large pitch opposite the tennis court and just a short walk to the swimming pool. Approx 15 mins by car from Sarlat. Tried the camp restaurant one night which was very good. Some pitches up by the lake are very large but well shaded. I would use this Site again if in the area. You can use Camping Cheques out of season which is a good saving off the normal site fees.
