One of the best sites we have visited. Wonderful views, sandy beaches and only a short walk to the beach. Staff very helpful and we had a very relaxing break. Toilets and showers clean and warm and we will visit again. Shop for all you need very near. A good place to be for visiting Snowdon and Harlech Castle and not to far from Aberystwyth.

When we arrived we were offered a premium pitch for the same price as standard. We would consider leaving our Caravan there for a season sometime. We have no children but it would be safe as there is a security gate on entrance. You do need to take your own toilet roll but you get used to this although in the start we had a few wasted journeys!

Overall a really nice site.

Just spent 8 great nights at this site. We were only supposed to stop for five but because of the fantastic weather we extended our stay.

First of all, I must disagree with the previous reviewer who done nothing but moan about this site, our details were all on a sheet which was in the office waiting for our arrival including car registration. We were not allowed to park anywhere, we were taken to our pitch by Brian, the Park Warden. Think the last reviewer was expecting the Ritz! well why come camping then???

Right, the site is on the left of a very narrow lane which can be hazardous at times, we know from our experience, we came across a lorry coming the other way when we were leaving the site. Once you get to the site though, it's fine.

There is nothing on the site, except toilets, showers, dishwashing facilities, elsan disposal and a coin operated launderette. The site is separated into four groups, the statics, the tents with no EHC, tents and caravans with EHC and the superpitches. All the grass is kept short.

The toilets and showers were always lovey and hot but one day, when it had been raining, they did get a bit mucky, but it was soon put right. A word of warning though, there is no toilet paper or even provision for any in the toilets so be prepared to take your own.

Out and about, you can use the bar, fish and chip shop, shop and swimming pool (charges apply) and arcade of the site next door. About 100 yards down the road is the Sands complex though. There is an arcade, quite a big supermarket, fish and chip shop, burger bar, and club. You can use all these facilities also. We had Sunday lunch and an evening meal in the Sands bar and both were great and not expensive at all. They also have acts on here about 4 nights a week, no charge to go in. It was decked out ready for the World Cup, not well received by our welsh travelling companions!.

You can also use the facilities of Sunnysands site, but this means either going by car or a walk along the beach, which is just at athe bottom of the road, very handy.

Out and about, Barmouth is about five miles away which has an Iceland and a Co-op for your provisions but both are really small, but are ok for a week. There are no other big shops there, but does have a fair and the usual seaside shops.

Would we go back there, yes, but would either go for a long weekend or longer as it's about two and a half hours away from home.

Visited this site a week ago and the pro's and cons are as follows.

Pro's. No decamp time. People left whenever they wanted to during the day. No charge for showers. A great location with plenty of food and entertainment facilities nearby.I can recommend the Sands bar and the chippie does fish and chips on Fri and Sat at £3.

It is only a short walk to the beach with miles of golden sand.

Con's. No receipt given on check in or pitch number, pitch anywhere! No vehicle reg recorded!

No toilet paper! Men's toilet/shower block cleaned once (Wednesday) during the whole week! Disabled toilet was not cleaned at all during the whole week!

Sign at entrance states the site is for families and couples only though this seems to apply to the statics and not the touring field as a camper arrived with a male driver who looked under 21 with two young teenage girls and a girl child of about 9.There was also a group of three lads camping.

Never found out who the manager was and never saw a warden checking security. The site did not feel safe to me. My brief contact with a staff member did not encourage further contact as he tried to charge me £25 per night when I had been told it would be only £20.

There is a security barrier for vehicles but that's about all.

This could be a great site because of it's location but it isn't!They have to try harder than this.

This is a fantastic site, kept clean all the time. The warden there does a brilliant job, not so much as a blade of grass out of place. Staff very helpful, security good and it has a hotspot internet if you need it. Disabled toilets but you must have your own radar key. You get fantastic views from this site and its a five min walk to the beach and at night when you are in bed you can hear the sea. All in all they do a fantastic job at this site

Stayed here again for a mid week break. I have already reviewed this site and pleased to say another good time.

Owner was friendly and approachable, she really makes you feel welcome.

Only downside was no loo roll. Stamping feet had to do at 3am! Also the morning after there was a nice mess on the seat that looked like had been used as loo roll. This was still there at 11 ish, but clean later in the day. Paper dispensers might be a good investment. In all the years we have been visiting here this is my only gripe. Oh, and the local entertainment was laughable, really unorganised, both nights! Although 1 girl on karaoke was incredible.

See you next year.

 What can I say, 10/10.

Its a small, well kept site, with clean facilities and friendly staff. We are going in 2 weeks, and have been each year for 7 years.

Location is good, beach, amusements, clubs, takeaway, train station all walking distance. Toilets, showers clean and modern. Park is in middle of site which is great for us and kids as we can sit back and watch them play safely from our pitch. Hardstanding pitches are nearer entrance to site so this wouldnt be so.

We love to jump in car to go for a nice pub meal and the Queens Head just past the Shell Island Turning does lovely meals and has a park for kids. Superb spot with a nice relaxing river. Barmouth not far by car or train. Porthmadog a bit further but nice visit.

If you want a relaxing holiday you'll get it and with the surrounding facilities may I add, we were not disturbed by them at all, day or night.

Can't wait till next visit.

I cant fault this site I've been here a few times over the years

Its great value for money

My kids love the park,

The staff are the most helpful, friendlies ive meet

I have been to a few campsites all over wales and this one is far the best for cleaniness eg toilets, the grounds, etc

I like coming here the only problem I have is I only go away for weekends and this site dont do weekends in the main holidays it has to be a week but that wont stop me coming here

I stayed on this site over the Easter break with my 2 young children & you wont find a better site with as much value for money!

The wardens are the friendliest I have ever come across & would help you in any way they could to make your stay a very pleasant one.

The site has a barrier entrance/exit scheme which makes it very secure vehicle wise & also means that not everyone can drive around.

The toilet facilities are very clean & never over crowded, the only down side is that you have to remember your toilet roll (Supplied for you when you check in) when you take a trip to the toilet as they have had problems in the past (Which is however understandable).

The childrens play area is central to all the touring caravans & tents which is great to keep an eye on your youngsters at all times.

The nearby facilities are also very amenable with the beach just a 5 minute stroll away, the amusements are a couple of minutes walk, along with a sistering sites shop (very well stocked), entertainment & fast food takeaway. The train station is also conveniently situated just a 5 minute walk away with access to local Barmouth town & in the opposite direction Porthmadog.

To sum this site up AMAZING VALUE FOR MONEY WITH EVERYTHING AT YOUR FEET. FOR JUST MIN £15.00 p.N all included WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR?
