Wonderful location, just 8m from A1 and easy access.
Huge open site and great views overlooking Rutland water.
Just remember to use the gate access code which is sent with your invoice. There is no reception office.

I really liked this site! It's absolutely vast ( 120 acres ) with many different fields to choose from, each with it's own character and features.
Many of the fields have views over the lake and are pretty flat except around the edges. I found a glorious spot at the front of one field, which meant a slope and levellers required to get flat, but the bonus of uninterrupted views.
Direct access to the path which circles Rutland Water - ideal for walkers and cyclists. Couple of mile wander to the nearest pub, but the golf course next door is open to the public, and has a bar and does food, and is only about a mile walk across the fields.
Friendly staff, no facilities other than waste, water and chemical dispoal. £15 a night, one person, one dog, no EHU - cost is per pitch so the same if you have more people in your unit
Will definitely return

Enquired with the site for the pitches using the booking form here and they replied very quickly, told me they had pitches and gave me the price of £15 per unit per night for an adult and dog without electric. Would have been the same price for 2 adults in each unit.
Once we had booked we received email confirmation with directions to the site, a site map, details of the walk around the lake and on there were details for the key coded barrier entry system.
Access is easy and suitable for much larger motorhomes too and there quite a few of them here making the most of the views and flat fields. Also easy to reach from the A1, making it handy to get to from many places.
You have to pitch facing the view / lake, guessing this is so you don't block the view for those pitched behind you. The field is nice and flat and has plenty of fresh water point and the views are just great.
I did not look at the facilities, so cannot comment on them.
There is walking and footpaths from the site where you can walk down to the lake and wander around it. There is a gold club next door where they do food and drinks and there are also two pubs nearby, we did not use either but they both offered food.
You can wander around the lake, which itself is very peaceful, and there is a bike hire shop, cafe, boat hire, etc.
There is a small shop in the village which stocks the basics and we found the few bits we needed and prices were ok.
I saw nothing for children, other than acres and acres of open space to run, cycle, fly kites, kick a ball, etc. It is perfect for young ones who enjoy the outdoors.
It did get windy on the top of the hill, but that is to be expected when you have views like these. I will be back as it was very peaceful, relaxed and a great price too. Due to receiving all details when we booked, we have contactless check in and did not see anyone apart from the warden who was around to check all was good.

A very relaxing break with very helpful and friendly staff.
We shall definitely return.
We were recommended this site by the person I purchased my caravan from who had also thoroughly enjoyed their time at this site.

Recently stayed at Lyndon Top for 4 nights in our touring caravan. Social distancing measures are in place but with 12 acres to choose from it is not a problem.
The only rules are, you must pitch a minimum of 6m apart and you are not allowed to pitch side on to the water.
There are toilet facilities on site but they are not currently open due to Covid 19. If you are self sufficient with a caravan or motorhome I would recommend this site. The staff are friendly and look after you.
At present no tents are allowed on site. The site is located on the shores of Rutland water where amazing sunsets can be seen and the views are spectacular.
Entry and exit is controlled by security keypads. Visitors are allowed but must park in the visitors car park however, if your visitors are disabled contact reception and arrangements will be made for them. Do not give your security code to anyone else to use as if you do you could find yourself locked in/out of the site.
The site office was only open part time during our stay but there were phone numbers with instructions on the door if you need to contact the site staff.
We would definitely stay here again.

What a gem of a campsite, spectacular views across Rutland water. So many pitches to choose from, from stunning pitches looking down over the water to areas that offer seclusion & out of the way plots.
Met on arrival by warden, was given a brief run down of site rules, he suggested we drive around & pitch where we want as long as we left 6m between units, & faced the water, beautifully maintained site & very relaxed. Great for families, groups & couples as there is so much space.
The best place to pitch is on field 9, this field isnt accessed through main site but is further down the lane, this field has the best views.
Lyndon Nature reserve visitors centre at the bottom of the road, 5 mins walk away, where we were lucky enough to see 4 Ospreys sitting on posts around the nest platform. Amazing to see. The Rutland Water cycle path also runs around the bottom of the site, there is plenty to see & do.
No facilities or tents allowed due to covid 19, & as there arent any facilities at the site currently, I have only given 1/10, but with our campervan fully equipped it wasn't a problem. Will definitely return again. 10/10 Thankyou

What a place to stay! We pulled up on Friday for the weekend on our maiden caravan outing. We were due to go home Sunday but stayed until the next Saturday.
There is no EHU here and the toilet block was closed, but we are fully off grid so it was fine. You can pitch where you want, as long as you are 6m away from anyone. It is so relaxed and quiet.
With Rutland Water right next to you, walking and cycling are easily done. The local town of Stamford has a wonderful market on Saturday, which we would highly recommend.
We loved it here and will be back for sure!

Lovely quiet site with amazing views over Rutland Waters. Love we were allowed to pick where we parked the caravan.
No faults at all.
Only improvement, if any, would be a few more elson points. However this is a minor thing.
Look forward to returning soon.

Wasn’t quite sure what to expect but what a lovely site! Stayed on a Friday night and it was quite full but never felt crowded.
Fabulous views and well landscaped for a sense of privacy; one field further back from Rutland Water was much quieter if you prefer solitude.
There is also one field with direct views over the water but it’s quite steep so you’d need bigger blocks than we had. Lovely mown walks though a meadow down to a private access to the waterside cycle track; cycle tracks also take you to two neighbouring villages, with pubs well signposted. (We’ve been shielding so not quite ready for pubs but know the area well and there are plenty of lovely places to eat and drink locally).
Very friendly welcome from owners’ son. Loo blocks are currently ‘tent campers only’ but that wasn’t an issue for us.
Planning a repeat visit!
