Very busy site well located for beaches walking distance and large supermarket, pitches vary in size and are clearly marked out giving privacy.
Pool area very clean all toilets are kept spotless.A Very nice site with a true continental feel, situated next to the river in Agde providing quiet cycling routes both to the beaches and the pleasant town. I recommend this site for a relaxing break in southern France

We arrived a day early by chance on this site, which was no problem at all for the friendly staff on reception.
Our pitch was of a decent size although was very stoney (had we have known, we would have taken some pieces of cardboard to 'save' our sewn in groundsheet from marking).
The toilets and showers are always kept nice and clean, but there is no toilet roll provided and they are unisex.
There is a nice little bar & snack bar although we only ever had a drink there so cannot comment on the food.
The pool area is nice and the water is lovely and warm with plenty of sunbeds to choose from.
It is approx a 30 min walk to bars & restaurants to both Agde & Grau de Agde.
We love this area as there are so many lovely places to visit with in an hours drive including Carcassone, Beziers, Sete, Meze, Pezenas. If you like markets, then you will love it here as no matter where you go, there always seems to be a market on selling local produce, clothes etc.
The local wine is CHEAP and very good! You see the same wine in UK supermarkets selling for 4 times as much.
We are planning another trip for next year to this site and really looking forward to it.

I've stayed on this site for the last seven years in my view you cant find a better site. Its a fantastic place/area. The toilet blocks are clean and tidy. There is a pool/kids pool. Kids park and play area the on site shop is a small one but has most thing you need. There is a beach within walking distance or you can park there. Shops pubs and plenty of places to eat. A short drive in the car. And you can find lots of beaches/golf/fairs/water parks/lakes/rivers/markets/boat hire. Ect. I have also had a day out in Andora and a day out in Spain if you like driving its great.

Arrived in sunshine but with wind which didn't bother us coming there from rain! No choice of pitch but ended up in row at end of site which was fine and a good size.
The toilet and shower blocks were always clean, no paper but you quickly got in the habit! Quite a walk to these but we had bikes so that helped. The swimming pool was pleasant and reasonably warm. Didn't use small shop and only used bar once to watch World Cup Football!
Easy to cycle into Grau on cycle path or to Agde the other way. La Tamisserie beach was the nicest, by car ot bike and ferry across the Herault, about 2 euros each way. Good bakers in Grau and pleasant little market in the square most days.
Agde very interesting for a wander as was Mezze and Pezenas. The neuf Encluses are worth a visit (the 9 locks) near Bezier as is the round lock in Agde. Friendly people and the site grew on us the longer we stayed! Takes camping cheques out of season.

To Find Site:- Leave A9 at junction 34 and take N312/N112 towards Le Cap d'Agde. After crossing the river on high level bridge take first exit for Le Grau d'Agde, at first roundabout take a left and then cross the next two roundabouts and at the fourth take the left hand turning which takes you back under the high level bridge. Once under the bridge the road becomes one way, with the river on your right, Camping Le Neptune is a short distance down this road on the left. Reception is only open from 10.00am to midday and from 14.00 to 18.00pm so it might be best to time your arrival to coincide with these times as there is limited space in front of reception.
Neptune is a relatively small site for the South of France with around 160 pitches of which 100 are touring pitches, the rest are taken up by static caravans. When the site is full the size could be a positive advantage in terms of peace and quiet. Pitch size is quite generous although access can be difficult on some because of trees on the pitch which makes reversing almost impossible without a mover if you have a caravan. However most pitches are free of such obstructions. Also access roads need to be taken with care as some turns into site roads are tight and low overhanging palm trees can make progress along some site roads difficult. Water points are placed along the site roads. Electric points are convenient to pitches and take CEE17 connectors. The main toilet block is situated behind the reception area. Toilets and showers are separate and are unisex although the toilet cubicles are accessed from around the outside of the building. There is a mix of Turkish and English toilets, the latter are seatless and no paper is provided. There is a second facility block at the other end of the sites but this is quite small. Also in the reception area is a bar that does snacks and sells bread and in the main season other essentials. Adjoining the bar is a swimming pool. There is WiFi available in the area of the bar at reasonable cost. The site also has a site wide internet network system which runs via the electricity cables around the campsite, this requires the hire of special equipment with a deposit of €150 and €6 a day for use of the internet. Unless you really need that level of internet connection the WiFi seems a far better option. The site accepts Camping Cheques with the exception of a period of about 6 weeks starting from the 10th July. They also offer a 7 days for 6 Cheques which makes for pretty good value.
The beach at Grau d'Agde is about a mile from the site. Whilst there is parking near the beach there is a convenient cycle path/walkway along the river from the campsite. There are lots of options for boat trips from Grau d'Agde including those that use the Canal du Midi. Near to the site is a large Supermarket. At Le Cap d'Agde there is an Aqua Park.

Visited this site as result of reviews on this site and others. It is a typical seaside site where the pitches are smaller than those inland. Even in September it was fairly full.
It is very convenient for the beach and Agde again and seems to have regular visitors.
Service was good and pool clean.
I found some of the pitches a bit tight to get into, that is not the pitch size but the access. We do not have a motormover and it was a 'blind side' back in.
However you could push your van in as the ground is fairly flat.
Would go again.

We went Whitsun week and the week after, the weather was gorgeous, mid thirties most of the time. The mistral arrived the day after we did and stayed for three days or so, but it wasn't too disruptive, just meant that walking through the site was.Interesting owing to the size of the pinecones that were dropping LOL!
The site itself is big enough but not too big, a ten minute walk and you can do the complete circuit of the site. It is situated along the river that goes down to the sea (obviously!) and is a 15 minute stroll, 5 minute cycle. There's a cycle path that goes along, and the road is one way (which means you have to learn the one way circuit through Grau fairly quickly if driving, it's not difficult) There are lots of fishing boats and the like along the river.
Grau itself is a nice little seaside resort, with plenty of beach shops and cafes, we loved the icecreams at the Bahia. There is a cashpoint in the centre of Grau, which is a bit grotty looking away from the beach. The sand is nice, and there are lots of other nice beaches nearby, Rochelongue nearer to Cap D'Agde is more 'touristy' but the beach is huge and even when we went of Whit Monday it wasn't crowded. Vias plage is much more peaceful and again a gorgeous sandy beach, take shade though if you need it as it's very open without shade at all.
There is a big Hyper you in Adge itself, with a restaurant that does very good value food. Nothing posh, but perfect for a cheap meal out. Fuel there is also good value. Agde town is very nice, there's a building tucked away that has a full mural across two sides, amazing if you can find it!
The site has plenty of shade, lots of pine trees. The pitches are a decent size, although some have the odd tree in the middle so you do have to be careful you specify the size of your outfit. They are all separated by hedges that have trickle feed irrigation so it's lovely and green. There is a EHU for every pitch although you might need to run your cable to the next pitch. You may well need a Euro adapter, as ours didn't take the blue plug. You'll need the maintenance man to unlock the EHU box for you when you arrive.
The loos are in two blocks, one at the end of row B and one near the pool. The row B one is nice, all loos are proper toilets, although you have to take paper. There are also about half a dozen showers with pushbuttons and a decent sized changing section with shelves and hooks in each cubicle. The showers are pressure washed each day. Loos are clean. There is also a chemical loo point and washing up sinks.
The pool loos are a little older and there are some traditional squatty loos, although they are still kept nice and clean. We didn't really use the showers or sinks there so can't comment.
There is a laundry room near the pool also with two washing machines, two driers and a load of handwashing sinks. The washing machines are fantastic, top of the range proper industrial machines!
Also in the block near the pool is a shop/restaurant/games area. Restaurant serves pretty decent food, not too pricey, worth it if you fancy a night off from cooking. Standard French cafe fare, stuf with chips etc. They also do lots of icecreams and also have a Walls type freezer where you can buy Cornettos, magnums, that sort of thing. Shop has wine, bits and bobs, sweets, but not a huge range.
You can order your bread for the following morning from Reception before about 3pm (I think it was) Prices are a little steep, but the bread and patisserie is very nice and is delivered directly to your pitch by 8am the next morning by a woman in a gilf buggy! You pay for it all when you leave, although probably worth checking on the total after a week or so as the grand total at the end of your stay can be a shock. We had a pain au chocolate or pain au raisin each (5 of us) every day, plus a baguette and IIRC we ended up paying about E80 when we left!
The site has Wifi, you can either buy a token to use it in the bar area, which I did, or pay a deposit for a 'reciever or whatever it's called' to have it on your pitch. We stuck to using our laptop in the bar and it was a good speed and connected easily.
The pool is a decent size and temperature and there is a small shallow kiddies pool. There is a shallow end and deep end. Plenty of space for proper swimming, but there is also space to wallo if necessary. While we were there a group of half a dozen Dutch people used to go to the pool every afternoon, get in the water and stand in a circle chatting for half an hour, then just get out!
The staff are very friendly, especially the owners daughter who speaks excellent English.
We had a small mosquito problem when we were there, they were rather fierce, after 6 you needed to cover up and use repellent or you were bit to death! The site were trying to remedy this and the maintenance man went round after a day or two spraying all the hedges with insecticide, which did seem to help.
All in all, a lovely site, well recommended. You will need to book if you want to go for more than a few days as the site was very full even in May/June and they were turning away on spec arrivers who were wanting to stay more than 3 or 4 days.

Our third visit to Neptune - and it's as good as ever. Lovely friendly welcome, great pitches, sanitary facilities fine - and now offering a sit-down meal facility in the extended bar/snack area. There are lots more flowering trees and shrubs, now labelled so you know what they all are.
The fishing quay on the walk along to Grau d'Agde is being extended, with new pontoons, so it's a bit of a building site at the moment, but I'm sure when finished will be lovely.
The town of Agde is definitely worth a walk into, especially on market day. The Canal du Midi is also within walking distance, and it's interesting to watch the boats transfer from the Canal to the Herault via the circular lock.

I totally agree with the previous comments. However when we were there at the end of August there was no entertainment on site which was quite nice. There was entrainment in the form of a historical drama and light show on a river stage and fireworks at Adge and Grau d'adge which are both about a 10 / 15 minute walk up the river. There is a small astroturfed football pitch/basketball court and table tennis tables for the more energetic. The site is ideally placed if you want to go cycling and is by far the nicest site in the area. There is plenty to do in the local area. My son aged 11 and I would definitely go back.

This is the first campsite in France which we have returned to (July 2005 and 2006). We loved everything about it. It has nice large pitches which are separated by hedges and some mature trees. The facilities are all situated in one area and there are two toilet/shower blocks, one at each end of the site. The site is compact and you are never very far from anywhere. There is evening entertainment which finishes about 10.30 and afternoon events for children. One evening there was a really good singer who you could hear all around the campsite and it was a lovely background noise, could listen if you wanted, or block out if you were not interested. Does not really have a restaurant, just a bar and small takeaway. It has a small pool, no slides, but plenty big enough for the size of the site.
The site is next to the beautiful Herault river (road inbetween) and it is a nice (longish) walk along the river into Grau itself which has loads of restaurants, a nice market and pleasant beaches. Brilliant pizzeria relatively close which sometimes has entertainment. Good supermarche not too far away (10 minute drive round the one way system!) The only downside we can think of is that there is a go cart track about a mile away on the otherside of the river which can be a bit noisy, but we got used to it after the first night.
The site is a very French site, some Dutch but not many English. We find it a nice, quiet chillout site which even our teenage daughter (16/17) enjoyed.
