We stayed at this site over the August bank holiday weekend and, overall, it was a pleasant experience.
The site was in a very quiet location. It also had no lighting so was lovely and dark at night. It was a very relaxed site, with no lists of dos and don'ts handed to us on arrival or posted on doors & walls.
The site was partially closed off at one end owing to flooding earlier in the year (it is surrounded on 3 sides by a stream & has a lake). Had the site been fully occupied, the 2 ladies' toilets and 2 showers may not have been adequate.
Can't comment on the facilities for the gentlemen, but the only privacy for ladies taking a shower was afforded by the fabric shower curtains. Unfortunately these were very short so anything on the floor within a metre of the bottom got very wet owing to water spraying out under the curtains.
On the positive side, the water for washing, showering and washing up was lovely and hot at all times. The owners were away when we were there. However, the toilets and showers looked like they hadn't had a thorough clean for quite a while.
There were cobwebs & dead insects everywhere - even in the liquid soap inside the dispensers. On the little information rack there was nothing for 2008 - only old leaflets from 2007.
Also, the grass was quite long. The air of neglect gave us the impression that 2008 had been such a horrible year weather-wise that the owners were too disheartened to bother overmuch. Having said all the above, we still liked the site a lot.
However, the big downer for us (and which will ensure we do not return) was the road humps at the entrance (or exit if you're going out!).
These were really high and our vehicle (a Nissan Primera) grounded every time we went over them. Over the weekend we tried crossing them at different places and at different speeds but all to no avail - on each attempt there was a horrible crunching sound from the bottom of the car. Sort the height of the humps & we'd be pleased to go back.

We stayed here as a one night stop over on our way home from cornwall and it is a lovely peaceful site, modern facilities, nice area for tent pitching with some trees and plenty of hook ups
The site was very peaceful and quiet however unfortunately on our stay there was a rave going on somewhere nearby, it wasnt too loud, but the thumping music could clearly be heard from our pitch - it wasnt as loud nearer to the toilet block, and obviously nothing that the site can do anything about and may have been a one off
Luckily it did go quiet towards midnight and then it was total silence, with only the odd owl hoot which was lovely
We will definitely stop here again - shame about the rave but hopefully a one off, otherwise the site was great, a real gem

I shouldn't be writing this as I will be letting the secret out but this is one of the most charming campsites we have ever stayed on.
The owners are very friendly and its in a beautiful quiet sheltered location.
The toilets and showers are very clean and modern.
It is very out of the way but this suits us perfectly. We made sure we had enough food and drink to last the long weekend and once we parked the car up we didn't start the engine again until it was time to come home.
We will be returning here again and again
