We found pigeon cottage a small family run site very friendly, helpful and well cared for. We loved the 2 lakes for fishing, our 13yr old son has found a hobby for life, thanks to the friendly fishermen who helped him.
It was idyllic to just sit and listen to the birds especially the cuckoo. There are some lovely country walks locally. Ideally placed between Cleethorpes and Mablethorpe for more livelier days out. There is a chip/pizza, chinese takeaway, and a lovely Indian take away/restaurant. There are 2 local shops that supply all your needs.
The toilet/shower block is very basic and would be better if there were individual lockable shower cubical, s in the ladies. Although they were very clean at all times. Also separate pot washing facilities would be nice. We will definitely be going again as the price is very reasonable.

Had a nice stay here, the site is nice, but the owners where very off with us. I went to the wrong door trying to take my son to the toilet and boy did the site owner let me know about it. Then he came over and said why didn’t you come and see us to pay. We said we did not know where to go; again the site owner let us know about it! speaking to us with his very sarcastic attitude - perhaps a sign saying please come to the house would be good as no clear reception area displayed as you arrive, so when you have been driving for four hours you know what to do.
Lovely site, not much to look at but clean toilets etc, but very let down by reading how nice the owners are on these reviews, to go and be spoken to like a five year old.
The fishing looked good but I asked if I could take my son down for an hour with his little telescopic rod and we were told we had to pay full adult day rate, a little disappointing given he is only seven and we were camping there.
A nice place but nothing for kids to do

Very friendly owners, very quiet site walking distance to shops and a pub that serves good food and a nice pint. Two showers (didn't use though) only one toilet each for men and one for women plus disabled toilet. Mostly used by weekend fishermen but that didn't bother us, they were out all day by the two lakes. Site within easy reach of Cleethorpes and Mablethorpe, but only two miles from the sea (but didn't see what that was like) Grass a little disappointing but overall a very nice site. Enjoyed our stay.

Small, very friendly site with clean toilet facilities. Our only problem here was rock hard ground but the lovely site owner saved the day providing extra pegs and brute force! Thanks!
There are not a lot of facilities here with only a small toilet block, no pot wash and no children's facilities. However what is provided is clean and well maintained.
The main attraction here is the fishing but apart from that it's a great base to explore the area. Appleby Ices is just a few minutes away and makes a great treat after putting the tent up. Louth is also close by and worth a visit.

We had a lovely stay on this site. The site is level with easy access from main road. Road noise isn't a problem as the field is behind buildings and a high hedge. All facilities were clean and in good order. Lovely showers, now with hook for hanging clothes (re. Earlier review).
The fishing lakes are very well stocked and provide a lovely environment to spend a few hours or more. Having such a good campsite and such good fishing all on the one site is a real treat. The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable with the fishing and bait was available to buy.
We received a friendly welcome upon arrival and hope very much to visit again. Nearby facilities such as shops, pubs and take aways were more than adequate. There are endless places for walking and we noticed many rare birds.

We went here for the first time and cant wait to go back. Nice flat ground with loads of space, the camping area is fenced off from the fishing and you can take dogs.
It is on the main road but there is a big gate that is kept shut so no danger of children getting out. The toilet block is kept very clean and the showers are hot and free.
There are 2 fishing ponds for those you want to fish, if not mablethorpe is 8 miles away, great for a day out. Plus there are loads of paths to go walking and there is a beach just 2 miles away.

We came to Pigeon Farm to visit the Grey seals colony at Donna Nook. The seals come ashore every autumn to have their pups.
The owner greeted us in a friendly way and told us where everything was. The site was tidy and well organised with the grass trimmed short. We had asked for hardstanding which was a big concrete rectangle which was fine for a caravan or motorhome. Other pitches were grass for tents or folding campers.
The 6 EHU's were only 8 amp so we had to be careful to turn the fire off before putting something else on. The washrooms were ok, but you didn't have to be modest as the two showers were just divided by curtains, and there was nowhere to put your towel, so you had to run round the corner to the changing area naked and wet! Luckily we were the only people here mid-week so it was ok, but at busy times it would be embarrassing! We found the site quiet and peaceful with lots of birds etc, but a robin kept on pecking at it's reflection on our van! There were 2 ponds for fishermen.
The village was about a 10 min walk away and had 2 pubs, a chinese and a fish shop, as well as 2 small grocery stores.
The only 2 things I didn't like was having to empty our chemical toilet down the disabled toilet in the disabled washroom. It was not nice for anyone disabled to have everyone's toilet emptied in there, but there was no alternative. To rinse it out there was no choice but to use the showerhead as it would not fit under the tap. The other thing was having to use the sink in the washroom to wash up your pots. This was not hygienic and I used the sink in my caravan, but anyone in a tent would not have their own sink.

Rik gave us a very warm welcome. The pitches were flat and a very good size, although the ground was very hard and a bit stoney therefore getting tent pegs in was a little difficult.
The shower block consisted of male and female facilities however they reminded me of a school changing room-consisting of a bench in an open plan toilet and shower area. Although there were two showers they were only separated by shower curtains with no where to hang towels apart from above the bench which was round the corner and therefore required a dash naked to get it once finished! Hoping en route that no one came in as the door opened straight into the corridor.
Rik told us that we could use the sink in the shower area to wash up. I would have liked a proper washing up area. The water pressure was poor and the most I got was warm water. I also discovered a lack of loo roll and there weren't any paper towels in the dispensers or a hot air drier to use.

Visited this site for 2 days on 28th June as a family of 4. Had a great time. Basic pitches are level they also offer ehu. Site is very clean, toilets and showers block were also very good with a good supply of hot water. Great fishing, kids loved it as keen anglers. Shops are just a 10 min walk away. Site owners are very welcoming. Wanted to stay longer will be returning in the summer holidays a1 site
