Stayed here for Easter, had electric hook up,so was put on last caravan pitch.
Lovely site, very peaceful, our only GRIPE was the electric kept tripping. To the point the whole campsite tripped Fri morn. Only time we needed the electric was through the night (had small children with us). Luckily the electric never tripped through the night!
Brian, campsite owner, has said he's updating electrics in near future. For the fact electrics wasn't working properly he gave us £10 voucher to use next year!
All in all, had lovely weekend, and would definitely go back. But not till weather warms up or electrics get sorted ;-)))

Would recommend. 3 families of 4 last weekend of August - A very new site and they are still struggling to get the facilities right - showers temperamental but beautiful, small, well kept and a fantastic base for York and at £13 a night you cant argue. Ground a little soggy in places but we pitched in the field behind the log cabin and not in the middle - plenty of room and the kids had a whale of a time - room to ride bikes, walk around the lake, kayaking, pets corner. Only real negative was quite a few wasps about - but a jam trap and a sticky bun helped that. Well worth a visit - hope its still there next year for tents.

Another excellent weekend at this site.
We have now been twice in 3 weeks and have really enjoyed it.
We had some kids with us this time and they had a great time.
The weather turned a little bad and some of the tent area started to be boggy. Luckily my tent was pitched on a slight mound and I had no problems.
We did lake activities on Saturday and then Sunday there was a triathlon in the grounds to watch.
The site and water sports staff were pleasant as always.
The only downside I have with this site is the £30 deposit for the keycard to operate the gate to the campsite. I think this is a bit steep but it does make you look after the key.

We really enjoyed the weekend at this site.
Originally we knew we wanted to try Kayaking and picked this place to have a go, added bonus that the caravan site was here as well.
They were very accommodating to us, we had 3 people, 1 tent but 3 cars which was not a problem.
Tents camp in the middle section with the road around the outside, caravans have hard standing to go on on the outside of the road and there is a lodge built at the moment and a view for them making more.
The facilities were very good and a few toilet and shower blocks.
The hot water for the shower was a bit dodgy in the main shower block, I say block the mens has 2 toilets and a shower and I guess the womens will be the same.
The showers near the lake are better.
The lake was beautiful, has birds and rabbits around the outside.
Fishing is available as are the watersports.
We chose Kayaking and had a 2 hour tutored lesson which was great. An excellent day out.
For shopping when we needed something we used the Somerfield in Pocklington. This looks a lovely town and probably lively on a weekend night with quite a lot of pubs. We didn't manage to get to any as relaxing on the site or down by the lake was good enough for us.
Another site we hope to return to and to do more watersports.

This is a new site which provided everything we were after. The site has brand new wash facilities and an excellent children's park, cafe, shop and even some animals! The site is perfect for water sport enthusiasts as the lake is available for use by canoeists and wind surfers. We were neither but had a fab time.
I don't think camping will always be on offer because the site looks like it will have some new permanent lodges built but, for now, make the most of it being a quiet and clean site.
Pocklington is close by which has all the shops you'll need. Even closer is a good pub (just can't remember the name) - on the main road out of the camp site towards the A1079. A walk in Allerthorpe woods / common is always a good choice too.
