I was very impressed with this site, I love being able to pick our own pitch.
Found it very safe for the children in the park and around the site in general.
Very relaxed atmosphere, family friendly and the facilities very clean and well maintained. Showers in process of being modernised.
Lovely to grab a bag of chips from the chippy and essentials in the shop on site.
Bonus to be able to walk to a beautiful beach and the complex nearby with its outdoor pools and children's area.
This will be my regular site which up to now I have had trouble finding somewhere that us adults and children alike have enjoyed.

My family and I stayed at Golden Sands for 2 weeks in July 2010 and I have to say it was one of the best holidays we've ever had. The site is mainly for static caravans and touring caravans, but they have a large grass area set aside for for tents.
You can choose wherever you like to pitch, and it's about a 5min walk from there to the shower block. From what other campers told me, the area is being developed properly for tents in the next year and will have its own facilities just for campers.
The best points I feel was the secure site - entirely fenced in with gates locked around dark. The kids playback, the best we've seen in an Irish caravan park, also fenced in and our kids were able to spend hours there. There's also a small grocery shop and takeaway at the site entrance. You can walk through little trails to the beach from the site, and my what a beach it is.
The site is quite strict when it comes to who they let in, and we seen the watch man come around about 11pm on the weekend making sure things were quietened down so everyone could sleep.
Finally, staff on the park were more than helpful. In the office they charged our mobiles for nothing and also froze our ice packs on a daily basis.
It's definitely worth a visit here, it'll be somewhere you will go back to.
Best site in the country!

We visited the campsite with our young son and I am very disappointed with this site. It was £16 per night and I do not think it was worth it.
The camping part was so far to the toilet block that we had to use our car to get to it. The toilets are in the middle to the static caravans instead of tents which makes no sense to me and I was horrified to find that you had to pay 20p to have a shower in cold water or wash your dishes, so anyone who is going make sure you have a abundance of 20p's. The toilet block is also very dated and dirty.
The children's playground has gotten very run down, there is a hole in one of the slides and sone of the equipment is held together by duct tape. This site does not have sea views, Horse riding, fishing, watersports or the beach pn site there is no restaurant on site unless you class an unhygienic chip shop as one.
There is a shop on site but it is very limited and ony sells basics so be prepared. I chose this site because of the nearby swimming pool however when I asked for directions at reception I was told the closest one was limavady which is approximately 12 miles away on country roads.
The camp had rules which would have been great if there was anyone to enforce them but people were having parties until 3am when no parties were aloud after 11pm at night. A disappointing site and I would not advise anyone with young children to go.

What a good site if you have teenage boys! Bit of a long drive from Belfast (1.5hrs) but wow was it worth it! Facilities include park, golf course 9 holes about 5 minutes away, tennis courts, outdoor swimming pool, a beautiful beach that stretches for miles, great shower & washing facilities. Plenty of room for tents also as we have camped here before getting the tourer. Quite fussy who they let in which is good. Great family site. Chippy & small shop on site and Coleraine & Portrush only 10 minutes drive away. Great places to walk also. Kids loved the Mussendun Temple although I'm afraid of heights so I stayed away from the lookout! Best place for teenagers we have found in Northern Ireland and a great well kept site. I advise a visit. You wont be disappointed! Great price as well only £15 per night.

We were very happy with this site.
The site is extremely clean and well maintained!
The on site play park suits children of all ages and is fenced in all the way round so is very safe.
The toilet block is not very modern but clean all the same. The dish washing facilities are too very clean, they have also got laundry facilities but we did not need them as our stay was short.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The on site shop and chip shop were small but cater for a campers needs.
Benone beach (one of the cleanest beaches in Northern Ireland)is within 5 minutes walking distance as is Benone complex which has a pool, tennis courts and a golf course at very reasonable cost.
Limavady town is only 10 minute drive which has supermarkets etc.
Other local attractions include hover crafting, glyding and mountain climbing up benevenagh mountain!
I would highly recommend this site!
Cost for tent £15 per night plus £2 deposit for key to facilities, £2 returned when key left back!
