Considering we stayed in January without booking we could only stay for one night because they were fully booked for the weekend.
The water point and grey water disposable point appear new, posably put in when the new accommodation was built. There is no chemical disposable point at the moment.
The lunch from the pub was worth it. The gammon was nicely cooked without being the usual pub gammon that is dry and over cooked. My wife had the steak pie. Again this was properly cooked with a nice mix of veg.
The area is excellent for walking or visiting the Rydale museum next door. Lots of cafes and tea rooms open later in the year.
We will go back in the summer, booking first.

Stayed for 1 night passing through. Site is all hard standing at the rear of The Crown pub. Seems it used to be a separate area but there was building works at the rear of the pub so a functional rather than pretty.
Folk museum next door but didn't visit. Electric hook up available but no water or waste available when we stayed. Ate in the pub which was OK.
Pretty village and lovely area but disappointed with site.

What a lovely little site spent a lovely week-end there was my husbands birthday, very quite spent hours in the Ryedale Folk Museum which is right next door,
Had a meal in the Pub and wow what a meal that Chef can certainly cook, best meal we have ever had. Shall certainly be going back.
Everyone very friendly. There is electric, water & chemical waster disposal.

Small area behind the pub car park with hook up, overlooking the museum. Sheltered location and a good base for walking or cycling.
We weren't intending to eat in the pub but the food looked so nice that we did.
Would definitely return to this site though I suspect it is busy in summer.

I visited the Crown for my first trip out, the pub is dog friendly which is a big plus when you have a dog, we went for our evening meal with our dog and I had Sea bass which was great.
I will definitely be visiting this place again as it is also on a bus route where I want to base and travel to other local beauty spots over the weekend in a great location.

This is a gem of a site. The pitches are not directly on the car park, just above in a fairly secluded area where you could put up your awning with hard standing pegs etc.
The landlord in the pub is so friendly and made us feel very welcome, we were able to sit at the bar and chat to the locals. We did not feel it was just a restaurant, we ate on the Saturday night and this is not your average pub grub it was superb.
Lovely open fire as you walk in on a wintery evening. The area is wonderful, so much to do, only 25 miles to Scarborough or just wander around the lovely market towns etc.
Lovely walks from the site. Ok we used our own facilities but for £9. 50 per night well worth it.

This is a great little place to go and chill out, its in the middle of the village and is part of the pub carpark with electric hookup if required.
The pub staff were very friendly, the place was clean and tidy and next door to the folk museum.
There's loads of walking from the site and the pub facilities are available during opening hours, the pub food was fantastic too, there was no noise from the pub on a night.
We will be returning soon as there are so many things to do and places to visit from this location, its well worth a stay.

The only ones to spend Christmas and Boxing Day here last year. Everyone else cancelled due to the deep snow. The staff were friendly and welcoming and so were the locals.
We did not have any meals as we had gone well prepared but the food looked good. The village is very picturesque and well worth a visit.
There is a small shop in the village which sells sweets and ice creams and the Ryedale Folk Museum is situated next door to the pub.
It is just a small site for 5 caravans or motorhomes and has basic facilities but we will definitely be returning for another visit this year.

We have just returned from a weekend at this site, it was all hardstanding at the rear of the pub, very basic with only drinking water and a chemical toilet emptying point.
It was very quiet and peaceful and the village is lovely I would definitely stay again and at £7. 50 per night for 2 adults and 2 children plus 1 dog it was a good weekend.
It is situated right next door to the Ryedale folk museum and also there are many tea rooms in village ideal for touring the North York moors and an excellent base for hiking, mountain biking etc
