I've just returned from a week long stay at this camp. It was a family visit with two young children, my 4 year old son and 15 MONTH daughter.
The site was perfect and exactly as described in previous reviews. The pool is now finished with a nice decking area and albeit a bit homemade and rustic, it was great and very useful when the temperature rose.
Everything about this site is well set up for families and great for children. The kiddies pool had a slide going into it and there were camp fires in the evening, great for the kids.
Hot showers were free and constant, with plenty of space.
We had no problems there whatsoever and really enjoyed our stay, so much so that we extended by a couple of days.
Extra stuff to what has already been mentioned - free Wifi, loads of children's toys for them to play with and a lovely location.
A great family camp site, very peaceful, very little disturbance and an all round great stay.
We will definitely be back.

What a great campsite this is. Booking wasn't necessary even in August and you have a choice of shady or more open pitches, in groups of about 4, with hedges and an open area in front of each group. Electricity available too. There are a small number of chalets for hire. The toilets and washing facilities are spotless with cubicles for basins, hot showers and even racks to drain the washing up.
The pool area is being developed, but the pool is free standing and quite a good size (up a ladder for access). Ping pong tables, children's play area, table football, basket ball hoop are all available but best of all is the 2 man canoe, complete with life jackets, that you can help yourself to (no charge) for the beautiful lake, 20 paces from the site. This is perfect for fishing, swimming, bird watching and walking around, with an excellent and good value horse trekking centre very nearby, and a man made beach 200 metres from the campsite.
When we visited there were plenty of Dutch with small children there, plus small groups and couples of all ages and nationalities and a few overnighters, but the site felt quiet and relaxed - free range fun. The only small gripe could be that some overnighters left VERY early (ie in the dark) - which disturbed us once.
A small supermarket is available in a nearby village (no fresh milk), which also has post office, bank, bakers etc or there is a bigger supermarket a little further away. Small shop on site, plus local bread etc can be ordered.
The villages in the area are honey coloured stone and although the site is a little off the beaten track, it is a pretty drive there. We couldn't understand why more people weren't there - we spent sunny afternoons on the lake with only the fishermen for company. If you like to get away from the crowds and do your own thing in a friendly and well cared for campsite, then this is highly recommended. We would definitely return.

A perfect site next to a lake, ideal for relaxing. We'd stayed here last year for a couple of nights, liked it so much that we needed to return again!
As the previous reviewer says, the owner was very friendly and all staff that we met were incredibly kind, pointing us in the right direction. Clean washing facilities and a small shop on site.
Last year there was a daily boulangerie van, but this year owing to 'personnel difficulties' there wasn't. However, Jansen walked around trying to get orders as he was going to the boulangerie - and he got a small stock in for those of us who weren't quite with it! Perfect!

Jansen the site owner welcomes English Bikers to this quiet site. Its an ideal stopover when visiting the Coupes Moto Legend at Prenois which is about 50 miles away through excellent roads.
Reasonably priced chilled wine available from the on site shop and lovely baguettes. The pitches are private and well kept, with excellent showers and toilet facilities, all at reasonable rates.
The three of us had a great time chatting to Jansen and just chilling out for three days. Would recommend to anyone touring the area.
