Well, we were getting ready for our first trip in our new van, but hadn't booked anywhere. Three weeks before the off I contacted Camping Wang by Email, they were prompt getting back to me and a phone call followed from me. We stopped at St Die, France on the way down for a night just on spec no problem.
Camping Wang is so clean and views to die for, there's a family area for eating if it raining, a washing up area for dishes, toilets are spotless, and very, very nice people, a lot of Dutch, very friendly and so much to do. Rudie the owner has a little tractor for positioning your van for you, and when his Wife Kathy found out it was my Wife's Birthday, she gave us a bottle of champers.
I would highly recommend this site.

What a fabulous location! The site clings to the extremely steep valley side 500 metres above Interlaken, below the Niederhorn. Views across to the Jungrau, Monch and Eiger are fantastic when the weather is clear, especially as the sun goes down. The road up from Interlaken to Beatenberg is mostly well engineered but is a long steady climb – best to have a good power/weight ratio. Access to the site is down a steep drive with quite a tight bend at the top if you have a large outfit. Once at the site the fun begins! All the pitches are on terraces cut out of the steep slope – a bit like golf tees on a hilly golf course. The great majority of pitches cannot be accessed with your car – but not to worry, Rudi, the owner will skilfully manoeuvre your caravan onto your pitch with his little tractor. If you are tent campers he will equally transport all your stuff onto your pitch in the bucket of the tractor! Sanitary facilities are fairly basic but kept perfectly clean, though at busy times you may have to queue for a shower or even a toilet. All facilities are unisex. There is a large but basic common room with dining tables and some cooking facilities, useful for tenters if the weather turns wet (it does!). Help yourself to herbs from the garden, and gather some dandelion leaves to feed the pet rabbits. You will get tired of throwing the ball for the owner’s dog long long before she gets tired of chasing it! You can buy an excellent local walking map from the tourist office in the village – once you are used to it, it is very accurate and reliable. For a mildly thrilling ride down the mountainside you can hire ‘Trottibikes’ (large scooters) from the Niederhornbahn mid-station back into the village. There are countless other tourist opportunities in the Jungfrau area, including the amazing but formidably expensive trip up the Jungfraujoch, partly within the Eiger North face. A more reasonably priced but awesome experience is the Trummelbach Falls near Lauterbrunnen. Overall, the cost of living in Switzerland is eye-watering, but standards are extremely high. We found grocery shopping about twice the price of the UK (at 1.6 SFR to the pound), and the transport systems are equally costly, but the sacrifice is worth it!

What a beautiful site! The views are stunning lovely snowcapped Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau, sloping alpine meadow however the pitches are level, facilities are spotless and beautifully maintained, showers toilets dishwashing facilities, washing machine & tumble dryer (5CHF each) use of a fridge freezer and under cover room for eating/playing games/chatting etc! Games room with ping pong table for the children plus various board games also swings see saw in the forest and pet rabbits. Electrical points. The owners are very helpful nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in a trailer tent for 12 days on this site and loved every minute. A very peaceful smallish site for people who don't enjoy crowded sites and love nature! Buses run into nearby Interlaken regularly however they cease at around 8.30pm except on Fridays and Saturdays when there is a late night service at 11.00pm. Very close to the Niederhorn cable car and train station. Beatenburg village is small but has a bakery/tea room (well worth a visit!) and a number of restaurants. There is fresh bread delivered to the campsite from the bakery at 8am every morning well worth getting up for! I certainly intend to visit again!

Possible the most beautiful campsite in the world! A wildflower-filled hay meadow perched in the hills above Lake Thunersee, in Beatenburg near Interlaken. Stunning views of Eiger, Monch, Jungfrau and lots of other snow-capped mountains from your tent/van.
Very friendly, helpful couple run the site. Clean toilets, showers, kitchen and common room (handy for tent campers if it rains). Washing machine / drier (10 CHF). Wireless Internet. Electricity. Chemical toilet disposal point. Swings hanging from trees make a kids playground (and Missy the dog will keep them amused throwing her ball - pet rabbits too, and cows and goats with bells on at the farm next door).
If you like large sites with 100s of vans crammed together, with their own restaurant, launderette, organised activities, etc., then this site is not for you. If you prefer space, quiet, and nature (but with excellent basic facilities) then come here.
Beatenburg is the longest village in Europe, and has restaurants, pubs, shops, banks, post office, tourist office, etc. Within walking distance. Also more stunning views, pretty gardens, great walks.
You get a free discount card which gives you free travel on local buses. Nearby Interlaken has connections to the Swiss rail system, and the rack railways and cable cars to the top of the mountains - the rack railway nearly to the top of Jungfrau is very expensive (though amazing on a clear day - start early, there is lots to do up there), but there are many more affordable alternatives, all worth a visit. If using the railways a lot, there are multi-day travel passes available - even entitles you to go up Jungfrau half price. There is also a regular boat service on both the lakes.
