I have stayed at this site several times a year for nearly 20 years. And will continue to do so. It has been a major part of our children's growing up

As it showed them a way of life and experiences they could not get in the city

This is a working farm, and that for me is part of the attraction. It is a great place to camp especially in the new camping field which is relatively midge free. There is a short walk to the toilets, as there is in most sites.

Occasionally there have been problems with toilets getting blocked and I have seen this in many sites all over Europe. Once reported it gets sorted ASAP.

I thoroughly recommend this site for family camping, there is loads to do even when the attractions arent on. Good place for peace and quiet.

The surroundings are amazing, and you are just a short drive away from some of the most beautiful coastal scenery in the British isles

We stayed at this site off season which isn't recommended as none of the advertised activities are are available. There isn't a lot to do if you've nothing else planned to do, except go for walks or drive into Ballycastle.

The site has all the usual facilities (electric, waste disposal), but the toilets and showers aren't that clean.

There are farm animals on site such as sheep, pigs, chicks and rabbits which you can pet and a small playground for kids. They have a minature 'museum', and shop/cafe which is only open in the summer.

Overall, a site probably better in peak season.

I like the easy things in life, space between the vans, electric and water at my pitch, drainage if its at the pitch, brilliant.

But no room to park a car never mind a caravan and awning, having to dander across a dusty public car park to access the showers and toilettes which the public have access to as well isn't a good start. There is a portable loo if you get really caught out, only not on a windy day. In more ways than one!

Although the area around the farm is outstanding, the farm and facilities are a little run down and are in need of some updating

With a bit more effort put in, this site could be up there, but with my budget still tight I expect more for my money.

We have used this site several times at different times of the year. Summer months bring the day trippers which add a host of activity to the place with all the activities in full swing, go karts, rowing boats, paddy wagon farm tours, assault course, quad rides and open farm. Out of season a great place to relax or go for scenic walks within the farm or nearby Ballycastle forest. If feeling lazy, home cooked meals can be bought in the on site diner (try the soda bread). Washing facilities are very basic but have always been clean on any visits. Sites are well spaced and have own electric, water and waste. You do have to lift a small manhole cover to dump your toilet waste but this is not heavy and lifts easily. A great value site for only £16/nt

We have just returned from a very good weekend at this site. We asked for a hard stand as it had been wet. These are close to a fenced off river so beware of the midges. We had electric, water hook up(long hose needed) and drainage all for £16 a night.

The kids really enjoyed all the animals which they could visit outside normal hours. When the farm opened they had the choice of pony rides and treks, go karts, boating, a quad train and a paddiwagon all for a small charge.

There were also some walks - our favourite was the waterfall walk.

The only downside was the showers and toilets. The site needs a purpose built unit for campers but then everyone will want to go. We will go back but expect to use our own washing and toilet facilities.

I stayed at Watertop during the may day weekend.

I cannot understand the recent review which was so negative about this site. I have been visiting this site for a few years now and I have always had a wonderful visit. In season or out of season, I find it a great site for all the family. I have visited with my wife and I have visited with my children. So the facilities are not the same as some of the council owned sites, but the owners keep it clean, tidy and improve where necessary. A final point about the facilities at Watertop. Always remember it is not the park owners who create problems in toilets etc it is our fellow caravanners and campers! Ballycastle has some of the most fantastic restaurants and bars, it has an 18 hole links golf course, it hosts an annual tennis tournament it has a great marina, fantastic beach excellent shops and supermarkets need I go on? Watertop farm is equally impressive if you visit during the open season. From Pony trekking to Pedal Go-Karts, fantastic scenery and great food. Thoroughly recommend it.

We have just come back from a weekend stay on Watertop Farm. This is an open farm with several visitor attractions as well as having two small caravan sites, one with concrete hard standings and the other with well drained grass. Both sites are fully serviced with water, drain and 16A electric hook ups. The grass site is actually the nicer of the two as it is on higher ground and offers a lovely view over a large pond and the river.

Our stay was out of season, so none of the usual open farm attractions was operating, however my son was well entertained by the lambing which was going on at the time.

While the pitches are fully serviced, sadly the toilets in both the ladies and the Gents were dirty and would not flush properly. By the Saturday night they were overflowing! Also the disposal point for the contents of your chemical toilet, comprises of a man hole, which you have to take the cover off!

The site is 5 miles (not 2 as suggested in the previous review) from Ballycastle along the A2 Ballycastle to Cushendun Road. Nearby are the scenic attractions of Murlough Bay, Torr Head and Fair Head. The farm itself is in a very scenic location, with a walk along a ravine to a viewing area for a water fall.

Ballycastle is itself quite a popular sea side town

All in all a very nice site spoiled by the standard of facilities.

We stayed at Watertop open farm last May, and found it suited our needs perfectly.

It's a good base to explore the surrounding area whilst having plenty to do around the camp site. We visited out of season so most things were shut but the farmer gave us loads of useful info on where to visit.

The toilet facilities were fairly basic but clean and suited us down to the ground. The site has 2 tent fields which were good sized [certainly for NI standards]as you seem to struggle to find many camp sites and those you do find only have a couple of tent pitches.

My only advice would be if you visit try to get on the top field as the bottom field turns into 'MIDGE CITY' probably due to the trees behind the pitches which is no fun.

Ballycastle the main town is about 2 miles away, so you will need a car for provisions etc. The farm is a great area for kids and there are walks to be done in the farm itself.
