Spent the early May bank Holiday here, it was blowing a gale, chucking it down and views were limited, you can see the Fylde coast on a normal day. We liked the site so much we left our caravan for £3 a night and came back the following weekend, The facilities were good, only complaint is that the showers were a bit hot. The management were really friendly and helpful. The site is ideal for walkers and there are some good shopping malls in the surrounding area.

Visited this site may bank holiday for 3 nights, went to a wedding at Rivington Hall, so this site is only 1 mile away from the venue, very handy. Nice friendly owners of the site to greet us. I liked our name on the board on the plot reserved for us. Large plots for our unit. Fabulous views over The Lancashire countryside. A great walking area. Nice clean toilet and shower block, the only complaint I would have is the light in the toilet block does not stay on long enough, it's on a timer. I would visit this site again if I was in the area.

What a great site, Just returned from a weekend break.
So peaceful with views across the Reservoirs and surrounding fields.
Toilets where kept very clean, including a family room and baby changing room.
Large gravel pitches.
Sheep dog herding was being practised and the kids where fascinated to watch.
Plenty of lovely walks to do in the area.
As mentioned only problem is the last mile of narrow lane/ road leading to the site but its well worth the trouble once you get there.
Will definitely go back.

We have just returned from a nice 2 day break at wilcocks farm caravan site, with our motorhome. The site is nestled in the lovely Rivington countryside, and is on a working farm, which is great. It is very peaceful and you certainly feel away from it all. There are lovely walks from the site, but you cannot easily reach shops on foot. There is a toilet block on site, with 2 toilets and 1 shower, for men, and the same for women. There is also a family room, which is a good idea. The shower took a while to heat up. I can imagine if the site was full, there may be a queue for the facilities but they were very clean. There is no children's playground but lots for young children to see, especially around lambing time. We saw 2 lambs just born, beautiful
The owner who welcomed us onto the site was very pleasant but I felt it would have been useful to be given a sheet of information regarding the site, surrounding areas etc.
We will definitely be back and would recommend this site for a no frills, peaceful countryside escape.

Lovely site with spectacular views over Lancashire plain to one side and winter hill the other. Very neat hardstanding with grass cut nice and short, shower block very clean with free showers and abundance of hot water, definitely recommend at £15 for our tourer. Dog friendly and the proprietor also very nice and helpful

Excellent! We found this site by pure chance and what a find it was, very friendly, helpful owners from the minute we rang to book until the minute we left.
Small quiet site, hardstanding pitches with electric hookup, plenty of space between pitches, beautiful views over Rivington and surrounding area. Located on a working farm.
Showers and toilets were spotless and the family wet room was excellent no struggling for space when trying to shower little ones, plenty of constant hot water.
£16 per night including electric hookup and showers.
Disadvantages:
* Narrow lanes on approach to site but traffic was also quiet so no major problems.
* no play facilities for children but plenty of grassed areas.
Advantages:
* excellent shower / toilet facilities.
* Near shops / supermarkets when required.
Overall;
Highly recommended site, a hidden gem in the Lancashire countryside.

Very clean quiet site, showers and toilets very clean. Smack bang in the middle of various walks, would definitely visit again. We actually only live 10 minutes from site, but when there, you could be anywhere. The only thing I have to mention is the narrow roads to the site, but take your time there is no other faults. There are a few pubs and eating places with in driving distance.

Wilcocks Farm is a true hidden gem in terms of relaxation with views to die for. We arrived with our two large dogs to be warmly welcomed by Julie and Dave who run the site. The place is a working farm as previously stated and is clean with good showering and toilet facilities.
The area is surrounded by good walks and the beautiful Anglezarke reservoirs and the village of Rivington only a couple of minutes away which has a couple of Tea Rooms. If you want a good meal then the Yew Tree pub and restaurant is only 5 mins away by car and has a great outside area for dogs.
We would certainly recommend Wilcocks Farm to anyone who wants to switch off and have a good chill out, and if you do want to shop then the Middlebrook Retail Park is only 10 minutes away as well as the Reebok Stadium. We shall be returning!

Just spent a lovely weekend at Wilcocks Farm, weather was very good which always help. This site has wonderful views over the valley below, very little shelter if the weather was bad but we was lucky to have sunshine over the 2 days we stayed on the site. Very little to do for small children, no field to play football in. This is very much a working farm with sheep and chickens. The road that runs along the site does get busy with motor bikes and cars with the entrance on a blind corner. Toilet block very warm and clean with 1 shower cubicle in both the ladies and gents toilet, this had plenty space to dry yourself in which is nice to see. The site was well kept with hard standing for each pitch. Great area for long walks with the Rivington Barn around a 15 min walk away. No pubs or shops within a walking distance, but a large Tesco's in Horwich near the Reebock Stadium which is a short drive away. The roads to the farm are very tight with hedges that hang over the road. On your day of departure I would suggest leave early or staying till after 5pm as due to the lack of parking around Rivington Village cars do park at the bottom of the road making it difficult to pass. Departure time is around 3pm but due to the narrowness of the road we asked could we stay till around 6pm, I did expect a small change to cover the very small amount of electric we would use. I did not expect to be charged £5.00 for the extra 3 hours. Most sites charge around £2.00 to £2.50 so I did feel this was excessive.

We arrived on new years eve originally for 3 nights but enjoyed it so much that we stayed an extra night. This site is very basic but the toilet / shower block is pretty new and spotless with plentiful hot water. The only downside if there is one is there is only 1 shower in male and 1 in female. This was not a problem for us as the site is very small and was very quiet. This is a site for getting away from it all with lovely views of the west pennine moors with numerous walks immediately from the site. There are a couple of tea rooms within walking distance where you can get good food. We had a couple of good walks out to pubs via lovely footpaths around the local reservoirs that served good food. It cost £13 a night incl. electric. There are no local shops within 2 miles but at the same time you can be on a retail park within 10 mins literally in the car but you would never think so when your on the site. If you like somewhere quiet and the outdoors you cant go wrong and the farmer and his wife were always very pleasant.
