I chose this site because it was close to the Chateaux au Velo cycle network. It is a large site with all the facilities that you would expect, the pitch was spacious and it did have a dedicated motorhome disposal site(big plus) and water was available on site. The sanitary facilities were excellent together with dish washing etc. Bread is available on site and there is a restaurant which we did not try. The receptionist was really helpful and sold me at a discounted price the silver card for Camping Cheques and at 15 euros a night, using this scheme represents excellent value. (though in high season expect to pay a lot more)She also continued to explain in French which I liked despite the fact that she spoke excellent English.
A visit to the chateau at Chaumont is a must, it has, what I would describe as a mini Chelsea flower show each year & discounted tickets are available at the site. You will not be disappointed. Whilst writing about Chaumont, there is a cracking municipal site on the banks of the Loire. Ok it is not all singing and dancing but it has electric hookups, a MH disposal point, clean showers and toilets and it cost me, if I recall less than 12 euros (cash only)In September in the low season we virtually had the site to ourselves, very peaceful.

Stumbled across this site whilst looking for somewhere near Blois. Quite close to the Loire cycle route and seemed like a nice site.
Quite an expensive site in high season, more suited for families than a couple but we did enjoy the pool and have take out frites!
There is wifi, 3 euros a day we paid 29 for the pitch per night and had to pay 1 euro for each freezer block we wanted refrozen which seemed a tad unfair considering the price of the site.
Good toilet and shower facilities, never busy considering the size of the site. Shop and bar on site and evening entertainment which we could hear in the distance but totally silent after 10pm across the site.
All in all a good site, great for kids I imagine with five a side/basketball court, pingpong, bouncy castles, playground etc.

Great site near to the Loire a velo circuit, facilities in great condition considering it is now classed as low season. Well positioned pitches with hookups, toilets/showers always clean with lots of hot water. Bar & Shop good, with fresh bread each morning. Close to numerous points of interest good for walking & cycling. The site looked to be great for kids as they all looked to be enjoying themselves. Swimming pool was heated with a good lounging area. Entertainment had just stopped (only on in high season) Would recommend and definitely would return, there's still loads to see!

We stopped here for two nights in early August, having pre-booked. The receptionist looked a bit worried as he assured me that the pitch had 'plenty of shade' but then pointed out its proximity to the bar.
There is some kind of live entertainment outside the bar most evenings or nights. The first evening there was a cheesy kids' disco that finished at about 7pm (our kids avoided it like the plague), and after that there was a puppet show which was blissfully quiet. On the second night there was an African party, which turned out to be a brilliant live African band. Thankfully we and the boys loved it, but it didn't finish till just after 11pm, and was very loud, so we would have had a very miserable evening if we'd not liked it!
There was loads for the kids to do - climbing frames, trampolines, play areas, swimming pool (actually three separate pools) with staff-led activities for kids every day at some point.
The shop was the best stocked on a campsite that we saw all holiday, and had croissants and baguettes by 8 each morning. There's a large restaurant and bar.
Facilities were good, and our pitch certainly did have great shade, with huge trees around - but there was a large part of the site with no trees at all, and the tents seemed to be pitched in a dustbowl.
Our kids thought this was a site for the kind of holiday-maker who doesn't want to leave the site all holiday! Not quite a description of us, but it was a great place to stop and recuperate in the middle of a long drive to the south of France.
